Lovely stay!

We enjoyed our stay at Elm Bank. The cottage is in a good location and fit our group of 12 comfortably. We requested the travel cot and did not see it in the cottage, but otherwise everything was great!

Thank you, Natalie, for your review of Elm Bank. We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay and that the cottage comfortably accommodated your group of 12. We’re sorry that the travel cot wasn’t immediately visible on arrival. It is normally stored in a cupboard, and the property manager, whose contact details were provided in the pre-arrival information, would have been happy to assist you in locating it. We’re glad that everything else met your expectations, and we hope to welcome you back again soon!

Fantastic Weekend Getaway with Friends!

Our second booking via Stay Cotswold, this time for a weekend getaway with Friends travelling from different parts of the UK. The property was excellent and there was more than enough space for our group of 6, and everything you could want was provided. Location is fantastic for all the various Cotswold attractions and would recommend Daylesford Organic for brunch and a mooch around the lovely country living outlet, and a trip to the Farmers Dog for Sunday lunch if you can book. Also great for visiting Stow, Moreton and Bourton. Bonus was the 30 second walk to the Golden Ball pub across the road for a sneaky pint. We also ate at the pub on Saturday evening and the food was excellent. Thoroughly recommend.

Elm Bank is the quintessential Cotswold residence. It met all our expectations and more and had all the facilities we needed. Having use of the house over the week really made the trip special - knowing that was our base each day after daily outings in the area.

House was very comfortable and spacious. Location and views good. Plenty of crockery, utensils and facilities at the property and all very clean. Very happy with our stay. Only downside is driveway and parking a little tight for nervous drivers or big cars.

Sun blessed Home! loved it !!

Very clean, well organised, fully equipped and placed perfectly ie designed for plenty of sunlight, really glad we chose this venue. most of the Major Cotswold venues are 20 - 30 mins drive away avoiding busy roads and even the area its situated with small town, was perfect for our 5 day break. left us with lasting memories and we left loads of laughs and happiness in there too.

2nd visit. Suits our needs with 3 young granchildren from opposite ends of the country.

The title says it all really. House is very comfortable, could do with a stair gate and it has a very pleasant garden. Beds and rooms comfortable and a good location for visiting places of interest for young children.

Lovely property, great location fir extended family

The property was extremely comfortable and well equipped to meet the needs of an extended family. The indoor spaces coupled with the garden meant it was ideal regardless of the weather. The location was ideal for exploring the Cotswolds and with Stow being 3 or 4 minutes drive, the lack of a djop in yhe village was not an issue. The house is across yhe Road from the Golden Ball pub which served great food. An ideal place for a relaxing family break.

Great place for a big group.

Well equipped and spacious Elm Bank was perfect for us. We were a group of 12 - three families with children of a range of ages. The house was big enough to accommodate us all. The garden was brilliant. There was plenty to do in the area. We had a fabulous weekend.

Beautiful stay nestled in the heart of the Cotswolds

We were exploring the cutest little town on our walk, and came upon the cottage that we were staying at on the walk! Centrically located to Stow on the Wold and the lower slaughter- couldn't have been more perfect for our large family. The grocery store was close by, and we loved getting eggs and ice-cream from the farm down the road. We had three small cars, and parking was a bit tight, but overall we enjoyed our stay! Would recommend!

Great location and lovely house

Stayed as a family to celebrate a 75th birthday. A lovely house with plenty of space, clean and well furnished. Feels like a real home with two cosy living areas. Excellent location for trips to other areas of the Cotswolds. Pub opposite is well worth a visit, very welcoming with good pub grub. Parking is tight as called out in the info but is ok for mid sized cars and plenty of space in the lay-by opposite

A very comfortable stay for a big family

We have a pleasant stay at Elm Bank. There was ample room for 8 adults and 3 kids. It's convenient located just outside of Stow on the Wold along a quiet road. We enjoyed using the BBQ and spending time in the garden. The house was very clean and well maintained. The property management team was also very responsive and replied to emails quickly.

Great place for a family gathering

We were celebrating a 90th birthday. Accommodation was ideal for the 9 of us. Lovely to have a large dining room table that we could share leisurely meals together. Well equipped kitchen for providing even a 3 course meal. Enough comfortable seating for us all in the lounge area. Great to have the open fire on in the evening.

Elm Bank Booking August 2024

The property was booked for a special family occasion and chosen specifically for quality, number of beds and location. The experience was excellent on all counts. The house was clean and well stocked. It was comfortable for all guests and in a perfect location for enjoying the local area. I was given a lot of assistance in the lead up to the visit which was very helpful.

A wonderful place for a family gathering

11 of us met here to celebrate a 90th and 30th birthday. Elm Bank was very clean, spacious and well equipped and there was plenty of bathrooms for everyone. We had 4 cars between us and there was plenty of parking at the cottage ( a little tight for larger vehicles) and in the layby opposite. The cottage is well located for local walks and visiting nearby towns and villages. We had wonderful weather so were also able to enjoy the garden. A really lovely stay.

Good space great for a family catch up but needed updating

It was a good size house, good location. There were a few cobwebs around where it hadn’t been cleaned. We felt the house interior and exterior was tired and needed updating.
Response from VrboOwner on 7 Sept 2022
Thank you for taking the trouble to let us have your view. Regarding the cobwebs – the housekeeper is already alerted but it is spider season in the countryside so I’m afraid these are something that can very quickly appear at this time. The house is deliberately retro in decor, however the owners do have a programme to update and renew every winter. Overall, we’re pleased that you enjoyed your family catch up at Elm Bank and found the location to be ideal.

Perfect weekend stay in spacious, comfortable house

Such a great weekend in a beautiful spot. We visited as a group of 12 for a 40th birthday gathering. Each couple had their own room and bathroom, and the kids made use of the additional rooms (the sofa room downstairs was also a separate room). Beds were really comfortable and all the rooms really homely. House is really well equipped, right down to personalised letter mugs!!! House was warm and we all felt at home right away. Plenty of carpets for the kids to run around on, they absolutely loved it. Would love to go back, one of the most comfortable, spacious places we’ve stayed.
