We had a lovely stay in the Lord Derby cottage. Kitchen was really well equipped and had everything we needed. The hot tub was superb! Location really good and a very peaceful and relaxing break. Our children enjoyed using the pool and playing table tennis and pool in the games room. Host was really helpful and communication was excellent.

Great cottage, pool and hot tub in a great location for Southwold beach and kayaking. Great host, Nick, very friendly and keen to ensure all was well. Will book again.
Absolutely beautiful place to stay! Nick was very friendly and helpful. The pool could do with a bit of a spruce up, they made my child's shorts turn green.... the only let down was that we paid extra for the hot tub and we could only use it on the friday night. Called Nick he put some chemicals in it on the Saturday but it didnt help clean it up...which was disappointing but apart from that a lovely enjoyable weekend.x
Lovely pool, gorgeous surroundings, splendid kitchen facilities and well stocked communal areas. Fabulous hot tub. So much to do on and off site. Friendly, helpful owner and all we could have wanted for our holiday.
Amazing experience in London Derby. The kids loved all the activities available. The cottage was well equipped and was very quiet on site Would more than recommend to anyone
4 night stay was fantastic. Perfect for a group whose ages ranged from 12 to 84!Tranquility of the farm was perfect. Day trips to Southwold, Norwich, Beccles and Aldeburgh all under an hour away.Fire pit at the property was a lovely touch. Along with fire starting help and free fire wood!It is a great place to spend a restful few days. You do need a car as the only drawback is that isn't a walkable pub! But there is beer at the honesty shop.
We stayed at Lord Darby cottage at Barn Owl Glade over the Easter weekend 2025 ... and it was fantastic! So much to do for the kids - hot tub, heated swimming pool, games room including a pool table and Nintendo, swings, table tennis, feeding sheep. The cottage was well equipped featuring two single beds in one bedroom and one double in the other. Each bedroom had an en-suite and individual temperature controlled radiators. The lounge area was fine for 4 with a good sized TV, table and chairs and a decent kitchen with fridge/freezer, microwave, cooker and hob. There's enough cutlery, plates, bowls for 4 etc but bare in mind there are no kids plastic plates/cups etc.The hot tub is superb, as is the heated swimming pool -just a short walk from the cottage. The grounds are well maintained and although we didn't stay in the glamping pods, they looked fun. The honesty shop is a nice touch - especially as the nearest supermarket is around 5 miles away in Halesworth. It doesn't stock fresh milk or bread though, so ensure you have that.Overall, a great stay - ideal for families or as a couple - we highly recommend it.There are a couple of minor issues whi
We needed a quiet and peaceful break away with my parents. Mum is caring 100% of the time for Dad as his mobility is not as great as it used to be and both needed the escape from the same four walls and a bit of pampering. We found the Lord Derby Cottage, and thought it looked perfect. When we arrived it was just what they both needed. The whole cottage was laid out with enough room for the walker to move around, and twin beds for them as they could get a good night’s sleep with out disturbing the other one. The kitchen was perfect to cook in, most equipment was provided where we made a couple of nights of homemade meals for them to enjoy and save Mum from slaving away in the kitchen. We enjoyed the onsite pool, it was a really good size, did a few lengths and then decided to go straight from there into the cottages hot tub. Mum even joined us, Dad sat outside on the bench provided and caught a few rays of sunshine too. That was great fun, and very relaxing. There is a games room with pool table and videos galore, a games console too. There is peace and quiet there. Nick, our host was a lovely chap and available if there were any issues. Our parents enjoyed their stay very much, I can see them coming back again, with maybe their friends, I know they have recommended the accommodation already to a few of them. The site is suitable for all ages, it has a play ground for little ones and 5 shepherd huts to rent too. Lovely lovely place.
Originally from London, we moved to area in 2015 and have never looked back. Nick really enjoys meeting and greeting his guests and is always happy to help!
