Great location to explore North Netherlands

Martijn’s house in Purmerend was great. It was clean with plenty of space for us and our 2 kids. We explored the region, including Edam, Ijmuiden Strand, Utrecht and Amsterdam, and made the most of the lovely central square in Purmerend for dinners in the evening. There is a local supermarket and everything you need to cook at the house too. Martijn was a great host and ready to help with anything we needed.

Martijn’s place was great, it was a nice and spacious house. Martijn was an excellent host and was responsive, he even dropped by the house to make sure we were doing alright. It is a bit hard to go into Amsterdam city from this location. It is around an €11/person ticket to get into Amsterdam city on the bus. The busy comes every 30 minutes so it is important to plan your day out. Uber or taxi is hard to get as it can be as high as €120 for a single trip. Overall, the location was okay but the house and the host were great.
