About this property

Host & Stay | Melody's Cottage

Summary:

Located just outside the sleepy village of Belford, Melody’s Cottage is a cosy period property with plenty of charm. Nestled within stunning countryside, the holiday home is perfectly located between the historic towns of Berwick-upon-Tweed and Alnwick. Whether you’re looking for a tranquil getaway or a dog friendly adventure, the property will provide the ideal base for your stay. Sleeping up to four guests, Melody’s Cottage is a calming oasis for couples, families and small groups of friends.

The Space:

Melody’s Cottage is a beautiful terraced property packed with character. Inside you’ll find a living room complete with a log fire, two cosy bedrooms, an open plan kitchen diner and two bathrooms, all in picturesque surroundings.

With a spacious layout and a warm colour palette, the living room is homely and relaxing. Kick back on the large sofa or in the armchair with a good book or play games with your loved ones. As it gets colder outside, fire up the log burner and enjoy a cosy night in. Traditional in style, the space also includes a flat-screen Smart TV, desk area, and storage space.

Head out of the living room and you’ll find the open plan kitchen diner. With light coloured walls and a large window overlooking the garden, the kitchen has a bright and airy feel. White wooden cabinets add a somewhat traditional style to the space which fits perfectly with the nature of the property. Fully equipped for all self-catering staycations, you’ll have access to an oven, hob, microwave, toaster and kettle during your stay.

Ideal for socialising, the open plan kitchen diner allows guests to gather and chat whilst others cook. With a rectangular wooden table and four chairs along with a separate breakfast bar, there is ample space for your party to enjoy meals together.

Also located on the ground floor is a modern shower room.

Outside you’ll find an enclosed grassed garden along with a small paved area with outdoor furniture - very much a family and dog friendly area. A real treat, this outside space is an added luxury to Melody’s Cottage. You can enjoy al fresco dining with your party and drinks outside as the evening draws near. What’s more, when it’s bright outside, you’ll be guaranteed sun all day long thanks to the fantastic position and openness of the garden.

Head back inside and take the stairs up to the first floor and you’ll find two bedrooms. Bold in colour, the first bedroom has a double bed and cream coloured walls along with an olive green wall behind the headboard to create a cosy and claiming space.

The second bedroom has two single beds made up using soft furnishings and a light grey carpet.

You’ll enjoy your sleep at Melody’s Cottage as all beds feature crisp white linens and plush bedding.

The family bathroom has a bathtub with handheld shower, wash basin and WC.

Guest Access:

Guests have access to the full property.

The keys to Melody's Cottage are accessed via a key safe box, and full details will be provided prior to check-in.

Private on-site parking is available for up to two vehicles.

The Neighborhood:

Melody’s Cottage is located in beautiful Middleton, right in the centre of rural farming life in Belford. Ideally situated between the Northumberland coast and wilderness of the Northumberland National Park, you really do have lots to discover.

Surrounded by fields, trees and nature, Melody’s Cottage has a lush, green backdrop. You can enjoy long, quiet walks and energetic hikes through the countryside. The area is packed with wildlife and even features a nature reserve, so birds like wildfowl and waders can be seen passing through in droves during the winter.

Belford has a thriving and friendly market square at its centre, brimming with independent shops, restaurants and inns. The Holy Island of Lindisfarne can be seen from various points around the village and is within easy reach. It’s an ideal base for those wanting to partake in a spot of fishing and golfing.

Melody’s Cottage is just a short 10-minute drive from the gorgeous coastal town of Bamburgh. Here you’ll find miles of stunning sandy shores and Bamburgh Castle, which is one of the finest castles in the country. Standing on the Northumberland coastline for over 1,400 years, there is a wealth of history to uncover.

Getting Around:

Melody’s Cottage is located within 20 minutes’ drive time to beautiful areas within Northumberland such as Bamburgh, Seahouses and Beadnell. There are excellent travel links as the cottage is only a short distance from the A1.

The closest train station is Chathill, which is roughly a 15-minute drive from Melody’s Cottage so local towns in Northumberland can easily be reached via rail.

There are a number of bus stops throughout Belford. Hop on the 418 service to explore Bamburgh, Beadnell, Alnwick and Alnmouth amongst others. The X18 route travels between Newcastle and Berwick upon Tweed with stops in Morpeth, Amble and Seahouses.

This well updated cottage was clean, light, and airy. It was beautifully furnished, and well appointed for our group of four. It was also perfectly situated for touring the local area.

Great stay

The house has everything that you need. It is clean. Great bed. The shower is very difficult to use because the temperature is difficult to adjust and the water gets really hot! There is a small garden but with little privacy. It is a good place to visit Holy Island or Bamburgh Castle. We didn’t liked the agency. They didn’t gave us enough information for collecting the key.
