A really special experience. Amazing house and grounds, topped with walks in beautiful woodland grounds alongside the river Tweed. The staff were so welcoming and accommodating. Had a fabulous long weekend, and felt privileged to stay in such a historic setting. Would certainly recommend for special occasions.

Of all the places we’ve been lucky enough to stay in, Abbotsford is the finest, most incredible masterpieces. It’s an honor, it was a pleasure and simply cannot be matched. The house is massive, and beautifully stocked with everything you could imagine and the staff was friendly. Very honored we were able to stay here.

Business Retreat at Abbotsford!

Our business group (and spouses) enjoyed a marvelous retreat at the Hope Scott Wing at Abbotsford. We'd seen the general pictures of Abbotsford, which are stunning. But, we were particularly and pleasantly surprised to find our VRBO accommodations at the Hope Scott Wing to be excellent! The house is both comfortable and impressive. And, Donald and Diane (our contacts at Abbotsford) were extremely helpful in setting up this visit, including great suggestions as to things to do in the area, catering, etc. Some of our group took the opportunity to fish on the River Tweed, which looked fun (I wasn't one of the fishermen). If anything - our visit was too short! Would love to come back sometime.

Wow, I do not even know where to start—but if I could give this place more than 5 stars, I absolutely would! The property is utterly amazing in every way, thanks in large part to our wonderful hosts, Greg and Dianne.Tips & Highlights for Future Guests:The Pictures Don't Do It Justice: The rooms and bathrooms are glisteningly clean, magical, and even better in person. Don't think twice, just book it!It Is Massive: The sheer scale is incredible—2 kitchens, a wet bar, 2 ovens, 2 microwaves, 2 dishwashers... and that’s just the start. It honestly took us 2 days to figure out the right stairs to get to our rooms!Lovely Amenities: The provided toiletries were of higher quality than what you find at most high-end luxury properties.Laundry Lifesaver: Having a high-quality washer/dryer and a massive drying rack was an absolute lifesaver for our party of 14.Clay Pigeon Shooting: If you opt for this, just note that it is located off-property, about a 20-minute drive away.The Bar Setup: Preparing drinks with fresh herbs picked straight from the garden was the perfect touch to feel connected to the surroundings.The River Walk: Make sure to stroll down to the river—it is incredibly serene.While I already knew a bit about Sir Walter Scott before arriving, I now have a whole new appreciation for his pioneering spirit. Heated tiles and tornado flushing... the man was a visionary!

The staff that run the castle are tremendous! The castle will enchant you and was such a delightful part of our trip. Everything was absolutely amazing. Dianne is integral to the smooth running of this property. She is delightful and helpful with all things that it takes to make a stay enjoyable

We rented this property for a 50th birthday party with 17 guests staying on-site, and I cannot say enough about how amazing this place was. The hosts were fantastic in advance, helping us get everything coordinated.There is so much space, and having the garden to enjoy in the evenings and mornings was so precious for our family time together. The rooms are very spacious with every detail accounted for, and the bathrooms are just as lovely.We also had them cater our meals, and the food was amazing! We even did a murder mystery night while we were there, and it was spectacular.Hands down the best rental I have ever had!!!
