Historic apartment with wide exposure of paintings 5 minutes from the city center
Nestled in a peaceful residence in the heart of the city, surrounded by international works of art, Sicilian traditions, scents, and flavours. You’ll have the opportunity to sample traditional dishes and taste local wines from Mount Etna. The street where Casa di Claudia is located was once the site of an ancient lake formed in 496 A.D. following an eruption of Mount Etna that diverted the course of the Amanano River. The lake had a circumference of about 6 kilometres and a depth of about 6 metres. The lake existed until 1669, when one of Mount Etna’s most disastrous eruptions—after destroying several towns in the Catania hinterland—filled the lake and the valley in which it lay within a matter of hours. Boat races were also held on the lake. There is a public bus stop right below the apartment, and a metro station is about 10 minutes away.

The units was not the one we selected. We were told that because we had 7 people we were moved to a different unit. Not true! We could see the unit that was on line across the courtyyard from ours. There was the same number of people. Do not stay at this VRBO!
