About this property
Enjoy the liberty and tranquility on the water. Close to Amsterdam
The boat rocks gently and sometimes a bit more. Very relaxing and private. Everything you need is on board. Being on the water doesn’t take special skills but it helps if you are able to manouvre on and of the ship. It is a bit of an adventure and certanly not a everyday kind of stay

This was such a unique and fun stay! Close enough to the city to walk (a very pretty walk) to the bus station and take public transportation everywhere, but far enough away that it was very peaceful. Some of the best sleep I've had with the boat rocking us to sleep every night.
This was an absolutely fabulous part of our trip! We loved the boat and the host was very helpful. I would recommend earplugs if you’re a light sleeper as the sound of the water can get quite loud in the night if it’s stormy out but the rocking of the waves is incredibly comforting.
The houseboat was comfortable and our host was so friendly and accommodating. While we loved our stay, it's worth noting that the location is further from the city centre than we had expected and amenities like the washroom are not what we expected (cannot flush toilet paper and very small shower). We did not mind this being avid campers, but figured its worth noting for other people who may want more comfortable features for their vacation.
We very much enjoyed the location of this property and the sunsets were not to be rivaled anywhere. Very quiet, relatively safe area, and the run we took around the nearby villages was awesome. One has to be ready for the boat experience. Casey did an excellent job of outlining the potential hazards and how to avoid issues. Physical agility is a bonus in staying here. We would advise caution for anyone with balance issues. The down side was definitely the bathroom situation, as it required running the water into the bowl for flushing, as well as using a separate receptacle for paper used. Bathroom odors are persistent in the sleeping cabin where the head is located. Cobwebs are rampant on the exterior of the boat, and if you can brave them, the outside spaces are enjoyable for the views and breezes. We would stay here again, but would not spend as much.
Spotlessly clean, really incredible experience, lovely and quiet calming environment, so comfortable with everything we needed. Host is super helpful and kind and was always there anything we wanted help with but also gave us privacy. Can’t recommend this experience enough…wish we could stay longer…we slept so well and had the best time! Loved it!
It was our first time staying on a boat, and it was a great experience! The boat is anchored in a calm spot surrounded by nature, yet it’s only a short trip to the bustling Amsterdam city center. Our host Casey was very friendly and helped us settle in right away. We felt very welcome and can warmly recommend this accommodation if you’re up for a little adventure.
It was really nice. The host was really helpful and friendly. The boat was clean and lovely, but some small things could be fixed. We really enjoyed our four nights on this boat!
The boat was well maintained and very clean. Casey is a wonderful host. We shared some wine and Dutch cheese and watched the sunset from the boat platform. Enjoyed every minute of our stay!
It was our first time in Amsterdam and we were lucky to find Casey and his boat.
The accommodation was near enough to the center and Casey was very helpful with tips and suggestions for our days in the city.
Plus, you can swim just stepping out of your bed!

Glad you enjoyed your stay, hope to see you again!
We had a great first experience living on a boat for our trip at Amsterdam in this nice and quite little village and so close to Amsterdam. We have really enjoyed to be so close to the visit and to have quite evenings on the boat. Such a great experience to do again in the future, 100%…
Casey ist ein wunderbarer Gastgeber. Freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Staying on his boat is a bit like glamping on the water.
The small bathroom takes some getting used to, but you get along well with it.
We would not hesitate to holiday there again. The location very close to the city is perfect.
Casey was an amazing host.
He explained everything and gave us a lot of tips for our Amsterdam trip.
The house boat is an old lady from the 1960s with a lot of Charme and character and peculiarities- you have to treat it carefully. It was an amazing experience.

It was my pleasure having you. And thank you for treating the Rose Du Vent with respect..
My grandchild and I spent 3 days in Amsterdam and 2 nights on the House Boat. After being in the city of Amsterdam during the days, we looked forward to the relaxation and the quiet surroundings in the evening and during the night time. The House Boat was very cozy and very comfortable. We enjoyed the sway of the waves on the House Boat. We had never lived on a House Boat before and we loved our time on it very much.It was a great experience!Casey was a great host and he was nearby in case we needed his advice.Thank you Casey for offering your House Boat to us!We will come again !
The houseboat has everything you need, even if it might take a little getting used to at the beginning. Despite the bad weather with lots of rain and snow, we were very comfortable inside thanks to the heating.Casey is always available if you need anything. The city center can be reached in a 15-minute uber ride
Host warned us of potential difficulty getting on board. Boat was comfortable and well equipped. Exterior was not quite ready for guests. Some minor inconveniences didn’t spoil our stay. As sailors we found the host to be lacking in knowledge of his vessel. Public transport was close by or Uber for those of us less fit. It was great to stay away from the bustle of the city.

Let me start with the fact that the boat is not accessible: despite the fact that you ignored my warnings that the boat was not suitable for people with overweight and or mobility problems, you insisted on making the booking, even though you are both over 70 years old and both being overweight and mobility impaired!
The boat is easy to acces, without difficulty unless someone has a disability like you ....
As for the outside area, the terrace was certainly ready for guests, but you were unable to access it due to your disability.
As for my knowledge of my boat: I know every inch of the boat, so I do not understand what you are talking about.
As for the minor inconveniences: you forget to mention that you experienced these inconveniences as a disabled person. No one has ever complained about inconvenience before ....
The boat is as advertised.
It's a boat and not a hotel..
Lovely location, place with a lot of charm, very helpful owner, always ready to assist. One should just be aware of what it means to be on a boat- no real cooking possible, just microwave but works fine. Excellent supermarket nearby, quiet lovely surrounding in the countryside though within easy reach of the city center. The only slight nuisance (to me) was the high- voltage line nearby bit other than that great experience- thank you so much!
We enjoyed two days and nights on this lovely houseboat just outside of Amsterdam center. Our host made everything easy with impeccable communication. The houseboat itself was a fun adventure and we so enjoyed being gently rocked to sleep while listening to the breeze, the waves, and night birds. The view of Amsterdam at night was magnificent. Casey was a wonderful host - attentive, engaging, and friendly. All in all, this was a fantastic experience and we would definitely stay here again if we were coming to Amsterdam. Thank you, Casey!
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks for the wonderful week we spent on the houseboat in Amsterdam. The boat is not only beautifully designed but also perfectly situated – just about 30 minutes to reach the vibrant city center of Amsterdam (a short tram ride and a little walk), while still being surrounded by idyllic nature and just a stone's throw away from a cozy little town.
Whether it was a bike tour, a refreshing dip in the water, or enjoying the hustle and bustle of the city – our week flew by. Our host was incredibly warm and took care of all our needs.
It was truly a fantastic holiday, and we will definitely book the boat again.
We had such a fabulous time here! It's small quarters because it's a boat... somewhat of a camper feeling. Being on the water and feeling the boat rocking is so relaxing. Casey was so, so kind and helpful. He thinks of everything- he showed us good places to go in town, explained how to get there on the tram, provided bikes as an option for travel, and even had motion sickness pills available for seasickness. When we ran into a small snag with the accommodations, he came over immediately to help. We definitely recommend staying here if you like adventure and new experiences. :)

Hey Laura,
I'm glad you've enjoyed your stay so much.
Hope to see you or your friends again some day on your travels!
Make sure you go with someone who is open to experiencing a boat and doesn’t complain much. Other than this I loved the boat! The property owner was kind and very helpful. It is not too far from the center, 15-20min scenic walk to center. Was nice to go back to a quiet place after being in the crowded center. If you do not like spiders keep in mind it is a mass above the water, there are friendly spiders. Took Dramamine everyday and didn’t have issues, supermarket isn’t far. The rocking of the boat actually helped me sleep. Lots of rules to keep safe so keep in mind you must be serious to be on the boat as well. Thanks for the experience!
