Historic Cabin in the Yankee Fork Valley north of Stanley, ID
The cabin sits nestled in a valley that is very beautiful. The cabin was originally built as a part of the Dredge Camp, housing the workers of the Yankee Fork Dredge and their families. Our cabin is one of the largest cabins and the cabin of the "Dredge Master". Also on site is the Gold Shack, where every ounce of gold pulled out by the dredge was melted down and stored. You can tour the dredge while you are there to see the history behind it.
The summer activities of this area are endless. Local Rafting company’s taking people on the Salmon River daily. Two large lakes, Redfish Lake and Stanley Lake are beautiful Lake that you can boat on and spend the day on the beaches,10-20 miles away. Also, the second or third weekend in July they hold an all-day event with shoot outs, food and Melodramas in Custer which is a ghost town And while you are there, they will teach you how to pan for gold. It is a great experience for all ages.

The property has a newly built trex deck on the front, that is not in the pictures, which made for a nice place to hang out on the hot days. I would highly recommend this place!

Thank you for staying mad the rating! The people did a very professional and did an excellent job! We love the new deck!
This was a good place to stay in the Stanley area. The neighborhood the cabin is in is pretty junky. Neighbors don't get rid of old cars, tires, etc. This cabin is nice.

Beautiful and quiet location
A large group of us went backpacking in the Sawtooths and we needed a place near Stanley to spend the night and relax when we were finished. This cabin was perfect for our needs, with plenty of room, a spacious kitchen, and a big backyard. The cabin is rustic but sufficiently appointed. I should mention that there is no shower in the bathroom, just a bathtub, and it seems like that big yard needs a fire pit. But those are small insignificant complaints. Everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed our stay, including Pizza omelets in the morning! And we even found a free, relaxing, hot spring next to the river on our way to Sunbeam Village from Stanley. I would definitely book this cabin again.

NOT CLEAN
This might be fine for friends and family?...maybe??? I personally wouldn't even invite my own children to stay with me without cleaning better than this. Also, they left us very little room in the fridge and zero room in the filthy freezer. That's a problem when you're in a remote place where you have to bring all the food you will need.

I am sorry that you felt that way. We have the same cleaning company and have never had any complaints. It is always clean.
This cabin was excellent for our family and a few friends to enjoy our time in the Stanley area. Ghost towns and the mining history of both the region and the cabin made this a festinating area and place to stay. Host was excellent to work with. Would recommend to anyone.

Thank you for the review and I am so glad that you had a good time.
The Cabin and Gold Shack were exactly what our big, happy family ordered. We enjoyed "real Idaho" in the heart of the Sawtooths and made some wonderful memories!

Fun 2 nights up Yankee Fork
We loved our stay at this rustic cabin. The cabin was well stocked and cozy, and not too far from Stanley. There was plenty of room to park three vehicles and a trailer with dirt-bikes and side by side. BEAUTIFUL area with plenty of trails. Great place for your family and friends to rest and recharge if your recreating in the Sawtooth Mountains.
