Ravensnest-Bears Den Studio Apartment

The Bears Den studio apartment is located in the main house. It consists of a queen-size bed, convenience kitchen which includes a full size refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, Keurig coffee maker (does not have a range/oven), a great room and a walk-in bath. Dish satellite TV and open WiFi. Private entrance, patio furniture and parking. There are numerous verandas and patios to enjoy the scenery throughout the property.

Deer Haven Guest Cottage (VRBO 431820) consists of two bedrooms, the master suite has a queen size bed and a walk out patio, the guest bedroom has a queen size bed, one bathroom and a fully stocked kitchen/dining room with a living room and dish network. It is approximately 1300 sq ft. A roll a way bed is also available. The cottages are surrounded by gardens, a shrine and a reflecting pond.

Grizzly Rose Guest Cottage (VRBO 1139489) consists of two bedrooms with sitting areas. One bedroom has a queen size bed and a twin pull out bed, the other bedroom has a queen size bed. Each bedroom has dish network/DVD. There are two bathrooms and a fully stocked kitchen/dining area with a walkout veranda. Grizzly Rose guest cottage does not have a formal living room. It is approximately 800 Sq ft. Open WiFi on the property.

Ravensnest consists of Deer Haven guest Cottage and the Grizzly Rose guest Cottage along with the Bears Den studio apartment. We are surrounded by mesas and mountains in the valley south of Cortez approximately 10 minutes. There is walking and hiking on the property.

Ravensnest is situated on 30 acres south of Cortez. There are numerous Gardens, medicine Wheels, reflecting ponds and many places to sit, relax, expand, and be at peace.

The sky lounge sits in the back behind the medicine wheel. A place to lay and watch our magnificent night sky. Three twin beds and a bin with pillows and blankets are there for your convenience. A place to connect with the Galaxy. Envelope yourself with the milky way, falling stars and moving objects.

The Bears Den was incredible. Michelle is an amazing g host and the apartment was clean and very supplied. The property was also beautiful and relaxing. Amazing price and close to Mesa Verde. Would definitely stay again!

This stay is very close to lots of attractions. Michelle was very helpful with giving us ideas on other things to do. Mesa Verde National Park is very close along with other hiking trails. Michelle is a wealth of knowledge. Not only did we have a great stay, we were able to ask questions and get great knowledge on the area. Would definitly stay again.

Great 4 Corners Location

This large studio was perfect for my partner and myself. With a microwave, toaster oven & electric frying pan and tons of kitchen ware it’s easy to do some meals at home if you’d prefer. The furnishings were very eclectic and comfortable. Very clean and well managed. Would definitely stay here again.

Immaculate one room lower level apartment

We stayed in the Bears Den twice, enroute to and from Colorado. It’s very comfortable and well stocked, and out of town a ways, which we appreciate. Michelle is a gracious hostess who takes good care of her property. There are 2 other vacation rentals on the property in separate buildings; this unit is in the lower level of the main house, but has its own patio. A very pleasant place to stay!

We visited the Mesa Verde National Park, drove many scenic drives in the area, rode the Durango to Silverton Railway, shopped with the many businesses in the area, and very much enjoyed our stay at Bears Den Studio. It was comfortable, clean, and had anything you might need. The bed is very comfortable. Michelle is very kind and helpful. She suggested scenic drives and was always quick in responding to questions via message. I love her decorum both inside and outside the home. Our stay at Michelle’s Bears Den Studio was a very good decision.

Amazing, delightful!

My partner and I stayed for two nights in this marvelous place. We wish we could have stayed much longer. The room is extremely comfortable, furnished in three sections: bedroom, kitchen area with table, and sitting area with two couches and tv. All were well-equipped with everything you might need—from extra blankets to dvds and even seltzer in the fridge. And Michelle was beyond warm and welcoming! Will definitely be back!

What makes a great property?

It's the owner of course. How they care for the property, how they communicate, the little touches that make a place feel homey. Well the Bears Den hits a home run. A perfect 10 for Michelle. Outstanding communication, a wonderful, quiet, peaceful place, with so many touches to make you feel at home. Amazingly clean and sanitized against Covid. Away from the hustle and bustle, it's a place to relax and explore the area. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you, Michelle.

I was raised at Santa Clara Pueblo and Zuni Pueblo and moved to Flagstaff and graduated from high school. I went to Northern Arizona University and Arizona State University. In 1985 I moved to Cortez Colorado.

Why they chose this property

My parents originally owned this property, I purchase this property from them in 1989 and have created Ravensnest. Deer Haven guest Cottage and Grizzly Rose guest Cottage are also situated here on the property.
