Spacious and elegant apartment with private courtyard inside Palazzo Torremuzza, in the Kalsa district.



The apartment, located on the ground floor of a historic palace in Palermo, features a charming inner courtyard furnished with armchairs and umbrellas for relaxing in. The courtyard leads to the interior of the house, which spreads over two levels. On the ground floor the living area boasts an open space furnished with sofas, a fully-equipped open kitchen and a dining table, and part of the sleeping area, two bedrooms with a queen-size bed and an ensuite bathroom with shower. Some stairs lead to the second floor, which accommodates two additional bedrooms, one with two single beds and one with a queen-size bed. A bathroom with shower, a small terrace and a laundry room complete the layout.

Palermo, one of the most beautiful cities of art in the country and the capital of Sicily, offers the wonder of UNESCO heritage sites that can be visited in the city's four historic quarters. Tourists can take part in the 'Baroque itinerary of Palermo' to visit the city's main monuments, such as the Church of the Santissimo Salvatore, the Church of Santa Maria del Monte Oliveto and the Church of the Conception. This a well located property that has been remodeled nicely for the most part. The dishwasher was missing a front panel which made it basically inoperable as the Start button was no longer accessible from the front. The front bedroom bathroom needs to be remodeled. Otherwise the apartment was spacious, clean and comfortable. We did, however, have ongoing communication issues with the host involving confusion over our day of arrival. It took several emails to straighten the situation out, mainly due to dealing with a new person each time I sent an email, Another member of our party arrived a couple of days late due to illness and the property manager refused to meet her to access the apartment, resulting in her husband missing a prepaid tour to wait for her arrival at the apartment. Check out instructions also were not clear. This property is an excellent choice for Palermo. I do hope the hosts take care of the repair/remodel issues and do a better job on their communication issues in the future.

Sprawling and spacious!

Although very minimalist it still fits the bill! Lots of beds with quality bedding, several bathrooms, and plenty of communal space. Location is great--local stores nearby, beautiful park just steps away, easy walk to fun restaurants! Would definitely book again!

We had more than enough room at this beautiful apartment. The dining table big enough to hold a conference. The kitchen was not well supplied but we were eating out all the time anyway. Free parking was close on the main street. An enjoyable stay.

We had a great week in this lovely spacious apartment. The location is ideal for exploring Palermo, being close to the older part of town, near the marina and lots of excellent restaurants. It’s only 20 minutes walk from the central train station, so easy to get to from the airport. There is an excellent supermarket (Famila) very close by for anything you might need. The bedrooms are large with very comfy beds, bathrooms big with excellent showers. The air-con worked well keeping the bedrooms nice and cool. The kitchen is a little minimal in equipment, but sufficient to prepare breakfasts and simple meals.Being a ground floor apartment there are no views of the city to be had, but being inside a large palazzo building it was very quiet with no noise from traffic. The lounge area has loads of space with comfy sofas. The courtyard is enclosed on all four sides, but was pleasant enough to sit out in after a long day exploring the city (some cushions for the seats would have been welcome). The smell of drains in the courtyard did spoil it on occasions, but seems to be a common issue in Palermo.

The Good:The property is spacious, with generous living areas, and is very well located.Opportunities for Improvement:The property needs better maintenance and more attention to detail. For a property of this type, guests should also expect a few basic essentials to be provided, such as salt, pepper, and other simple kitchen necessities.Watch out:The key and air-conditioning setup is by far the biggest issue. There is only one set of keys, and all the keys are locked together, so they cannot be separated. One of those keys must remain inserted inside the apartment for the air conditioning to operate.As a result, whenever you leave the apartment, you have no choice but to take the entire set of keys with you, which automatically turns off the AC. During hot weather, this means returning to an uncomfortably warm apartment every time you go out.For a property equipped with air conditioning, this arrangement is extremely inconvenient and significantly affects the comfort of the stay. Providing a second set of keys and allowing the AC to remain operational while guests are away—would make a substantial difference.

Perfect weekend!

The property is well located and exceeded expectations! So much space for everyone and very comfortable. My only advice would be to do a lock box to make checking in and out more flexible. :) but I can’t wait to come back and stay here again!

Beautiful apartment in a great location

We loved it. The apartment was spacious and beautiful. It was close to everything and we were able to walk everywhere. The only suggestion I would have is to make sure there was a garbage can in the kitchen and some essentials in the fridge, water, etc. Othereise it was great! Highly recommend!

Everything we needed!

This was the perfect property for my family trip to Palermo. Was traveling with my husband, three kids (ages 5, 3, and 8 months), brother-in-law, and in-laws. Area was very easily accessible to the harbor and water area, and not too far walking from the rest of the city (we did not have a car and walked with luggage from the train station). Apartment was very comfortable for all of us, and the communal space was great! Door man was very helpful and apartment was well-equipped with everything we needed! Wonderful Italy also helped us book a great boat tour and family walking tour, and their offices are located on the same block as this apt. Highly recommend!

We stayed at the Torremuzza apartment in Palermo for one week in April 2026. The property is situated in an interesting area with good access to the city and local attractions.While the apartment is spacious and appeared superficially clean, it unfortunately felt poorly maintained and lacking in care and attention. There was no welcome provision whatsoever on arrival; we had to purchase basic essentials ourselves, including kitchen towels, dish cloths, salt, and pepper. In addition, there was no information provided regarding the operation of the air conditioning system or other appliances in the apartment.Several items of furniture and fittings were also damaged. Most notably, the dishwasher door was missing — an issue that had already been mentioned in a review from 2025, yet clearly had not been addressed.The most disappointing aspect of our stay, however, was the lack of responsiveness from the host’s representatives, “Wonderful Italy.” Our group consisted of six people, yet we were provided with only one set of keys. Repeated requests for additional keys were ignored, which made it unnecessarily difficult for our group to coordinate activities throughout the week.Overall, while the location has clear advantages, the standard of maintenance and level of guest support fell well below expec

Nice renovated apartment in historical building

Apartment was tastefully renovated & checked in was great with a young man walked us through details of the place. Unfortunately Easter weekend was next day & although the front panel of the dishwasher fell out, toilet seat loose & shaky & light bulbs went out in one of the bathrooms ( we had to use a bedside lamp for light), guess workers were on holiday. The "private courtyard" is in the middle of the apartment complex and if one sits there, everybody in the surrounding apartments can see & hear everything one said. Kitchen had dishes & pots & pans, but not even salt & pepper.And don't eat in the restaurant across the street although the BBQ grill in front was enticing - their mussels smelled & shrimps mushy. When I mentioned to the owner, he shrugged his shoulders & went away. All in all, the interior of the apartment was very nice & comfortable & we enjoyed our stay there.

While the communal space was large as was the apartment, plenty of privacy with the bedrooms, but nothing has been updated for a long time. Un agréable séjour

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour d'une semaine à Palerme. La ville et les environs permettent des découvertes et des activités très variées. Le logement est très bien placé pour visiter tout le centre ville ancien, en étant proche des commerces, restaurants, et d'un stationnement hors ZTL.
