About the host
Hosted by Franziska Khevenhuller
Loredana Lorenzini moved from northern Italy to Rome and bought Palombaio as a place of peace and escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Her daughter, Lydia Cremisini with her husband Giovannangelo Borghese, renovated Villa Cicas after the war, making it the family home. They transformed the terraced garden into the current informal garden as described in @AGPI Casale Palombaro, with the help of architect Pejrone. Their daughter, Camilla Borghese, redevelops the farm and farmhouses with the help of her husband Hans Khevenhüller. Together they started the agritourism business, including two more farmhouses, Villa Flavia in the hazelnut and olive groves, and Casale Pomodoro, in the chestnut grove. Their daughter, Fanny Khevenhüller with Damiano Minozzi, her husband, run Palombaio together, integrating innovative ways of production.
Why they chose this property

What makes this property unique
Since Roman times, the area was known for the regenerative properties of the thermal baths and sulphurous springs, as a former volcanic zone. Due to the abundance of water, nature is lush and the centuries-old forests have even been mapped in the Galleria delle Mappe in the Vatican Museums. Excursions on horseback, on foot or by bicycle allow you to enjoy them and spot wild animals. The proximity of the lake and the sea allows for a wide variety of experiences and to take advantage of bathing and boat rides to suit every taste.
