Had a wonderful week. Beautiful view of the lake! Am sure we would have spend all our time at the lake, if weather was better. A well equipped quite property.
Loved it!
We loved waking up to one of the best views ever and enjoyed swimming in that amazing lake for sure will be back soon
JOHN D is a super host always around to help out if needed. Thank you merci. Also our dog had the time of his life here
The cottage was perfect and included so many thoughtful touches that we were grateful for. We had a sweet reunion after 3 years of Covid separation and this lakeside cottage, so near St. Andrew's was a beautiful setting.
My partner and I had a great stay at John's cottage! The location couldn't be better. The views of the lake from the multiple decks are spectacular. We enjoyed eating outside and building a campfire in the evening. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to make your own meals. We had fun playing board games in front of the electric fireplace. And we had a blast paddling about the lake in the kayaks and on the paddle boards provided. The drive to St. Andrews is quick and easy and we were able to go on a whale watching tour there. John was friendly, welcoming, and communicative. I would definitely recommend staying here and would love to do so again!
Great getaway on a calm lake. We enjoyed the paddle boards, the kayak and the canoe. The weather was sunny and perfect so we also enjoyed sitting on each level of outdoor furniture plus the screen porch. The new heat pump took the chill out of a few nights. Very close to St Andrews . We loved the Stars! And the waterfront campfire. A beautiful place.

Yes its off the beaten path, a short travel on gravel road but then you arrive, sitting high above Gibson Lake a little cabin of beauty. Nicely decorated, comfortable with all that you need. Then you rise and set with the beauty of the lake, sunrises, sunsets and mirror reflections. We loved our time. Thanks to our great hosts for having this available when we needed it most, end of summer R&R.
It was perfect. There was nothing that could have improved it in my opinion. Just what we wanted - quiet, beauty, clean, comfortable, lake “toys”, every kitchen and bath need already provided (that was unexpected). We loved it totally and completely.
We had a lovely time! The place was very cozy, clean but most of all loved the beautiful view of the lake!

About the host
Hosted by John Desmond
My wife and I bought the cottage after we had lived in St Andrews for 5 years. A job change caused us to move out of the area, but we wanted to keep a foot hold in St Andrews because we enjoyed the natural beauty and kind people so much. We still travel down frequently and always look forward to slipping into the pristine lake. There is so much to do in St Andrew with the ocean activities and natural beauty that we always have look forward to visiting.
Why they chose this property
Why not! Incredible water and scenery, beautiful cottage with toys, 8 min to ocean fun!
What makes this property unique
Gorgeous lake with all the activities of St Andrews by the Sea tourist destination (golf, whale watching, ocean kayaking, hiking, riding, etc)
