About this property

The Summer House - a cottage that sleeps 6 guests in 3 bedrooms

The Summer House is a beautifully presented property, set back from the front in St Mawes with stunning views across the bay, the sun terrace is the perfect place for some al fresco dining or enjoying a glass of your favourite tipple watching yachts at anchor, the to and from of the little blue ferries, or commercial shipping or cruise liners out in Falmouth Bay. There are superb sea views from the living room, kitchen, and the main bedrooms. The twin bedroom has direct access to a rear terraced garden with a private sitting area at the top that boasts even better views. Tavern Beach is a short walk away and there are few nicer places for a dip in the sea or an afternoon of sunbathing in a safe environment for children to mess around on or in the water. The local pubs, restaurants, cafes, and shops are all within a short walk.

St Mawes is one of the most exclusive traditional villages in the Country, with a wealth of activities within close reach. Historic Castles from the era of Henry VIII, glistening blue waters, bustling beaches, Cornish Pubs, award-winning restaurants, amazing coastal walks, ferries to different locations, little motor boats, kayaks, and stand-up paddle boards, all available for rental. (During the season) The Roseland peninsula has a huge variety of places to explore, there are many beaches, some with golden sands, some with shingle, all with a splattering of rock pools, there are secluded coves, towering cliffs, and the famous lighthouse at St Anthony. (Fraggle Rock for everyone of a certain age!) The artists' haven of Portscatho is well worth a visit, as is Veryan. with its famous round houses.

The beautiful patio areas provide stunning views across the water. I would thoroughly recommend for a relaxing stay with family or friends.

Out stay.

Delightful house in a glorious setting. Lovely touches from the host in the way of food. The skirting under the dishwasher needs trimming to allow the door to open without fear of pulling it down each time.

The Summer House

The Summer House is a well equipped and comfortable place to holiday. The sea views and quiet location made it very special and this alone ticked all our boxes. It is a spacious and comfortable and well looked after home with many thoughtful touches.

8/10 Good

Lots to love, but some improvements needed

First, the good: the house is in a fabulous position, with lovely views. The layout worked really well for our family of five; the kitchen is well-equipped, great shower and hot water pressure, and the summer house is a bonus although we didn't use it. It's just a little dated in places: a new bathroom suite or at the very least a loo seat that fits; the kitchen wooden worktops are also looking very tired with gaps to trap dirt. Having said that, we really enjoyed our week and would probably rebook – if they'd still have us after this!
