Great place to stay..in a nice and quiet village with plenty of things to see around
It was clean and tidy, Beds were comfortable. The host was welcoming and accommodating to our needs. There was no information on how to work the central heating, it was nippy after getting out the amazing hot tub. We didn't want to light a real fire. The shower temperature in the ensuite was really hot and kept setting of the fire alarm, ( we couldn't adjust the temp) so we all just used the main bathroom. The bathroom door needs a lock & a cleaning spray would of been helpful for the table and surfaces after eating. Overall was a very pleasant stay and near the attraction we wanted to visit for Longleat.
Avtandil,
Thank you for your stay. Sadly these items, the sun marks on the sofa, the hinge of the dishwasher, a light which had in fact come loose and one of the blinds in the kitchen, that you mentioned weren't up to your standards and we do sincerely apologise.
Every issue has been addressed or repaired as we had agreed prior to you writing this very 'accurate' review of our property.
I'm glad to know at least that all the important things like bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and the majority was still a high standard as usual.
Its a shame that you only chose to complain and send pictures to us when we asked for your late checkout fee 3 times after you refused to communicate with us throughout your stay. We would have easily rectified these minor items in minutes had this been brought up
Hopefully everyone really understands exactly the type of people we have to deal with. And maybe check out reviews on Airbnb before and after this guys trip and decide for yourself if this is fair.
We had an absolutely fantastic stay at King Arthur’s Rest! This charming 4-bedroom house was the perfect home base for our family’s southwest adventures. From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home. The house is spacious, cozy, and beautifully furnished, with plenty of room for everyone, including the kids. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the en-suite in the master bedroom was a real luxury.
The host David was great, checked in on us during our stay and made sure we had everything we needed. He's a professional chef and made recommendations of where to eat and grab a drink - he had great taste!
The garden was a highlight for us. The kids loved running around and exploring while we relaxed in the hot tub. The BBQ was perfect for family dinners in the evening, and the two living rooms meant we could all spread out and unwind after a day of exploring.
The location couldn’t be better. We loved being just a short walk from Cadbury Castle Hillfort—an amazing place to take in the views and let the kid's imaginations run wild with tales of King Arthur.
There’s so much to do in the area. We took the kids to the Haynes Motor Museum, which was a big hit, and spent a day at The Newt, where we enjoyed the beautiful gardens and tasted some incredible apple cider. Everything is within a short drive, making it easy to plan activities for all ages.
Overall, one of the best family holidays we've had, and when we come back (which we will!) we'll stay here again for sure!
We (two families) were lucky enough to stay with David this year. King Arthur’s Rest is the perfect place to spend time together, yet also to have some time to ourselves. The garden, with its large willow tree, is ideal for relaxing, playing or reading. The kitchen is perfect for several people.David was always friendly, responsive and proactive in his communications. We’d love to come back here.
