Wonderful to hear your stay went well for you and your family and that you took the time to utilize the sauna bath house, brave on the cold creek plunge lol.
Thank you so much for your return trip to our cabin and hope to have you all back very soon.
We stayed here while visiting my daughter who is living in the area. It was perfect for the 5 of us and our dogs. Great location, very comfortable and a fenced in area for the dogs.
Perfect get-away house with easy drive to Franklin, NC.
The property was excellent in every way.
Great amenities.
Would like to stay for 10 days next time.
Everyone (4) had a great time.
I would highly recommend.
The property absolutely lived up to the pictures presented in advertisement. We were here for 6 nights and used this home as a base camp for hiking many miles of trails. The home had two baths with showers that worked great. It was a great place to come back to and relax. Would recommend this home to everyo e.
We really enjoyed our stay! Room for everyone and wonderful site. Caught a few native trout in the stream behind the house. I would not hesitate to rent again.
Great cabin for a country getaway. My family founds a wonderful home to share for the holidays. The cabin has all the necessities and is in a wonderful location. Recommend for pet friendly families.

Thank you very much for your review. Good to hear that you and your family were comfortable as well as the furry family members and you didn't need for a thing. Hope to have you all return sometime in the near future.
Take care,
Jody
We LOVED our stay here. There was so much space for our family to spread out but it was also super cozy. We enjoyed playing pool and sitting on the porch in the morning listening to the creek. We will definitely be returning.
Nice house. Needs a little TLC. Beds are comfy and clean.

To ensure that our guests are completely happy, per our phone conversation immediately after your review, I will address your concerns with our cleaning folks to do a more thorough job with dusting and supplies for our guests. Always open to construction criticism and any suggestions of ways to make our guests more comfortable with their stay. Good to hear that you and your family are looking forward to a return visit with us in the future.
The property was beautiful, and very well maintained. The kids loved the creek and spent hours each day playing in it! The cabin location was great, and property was easily accessible as well. The only “inconvenience” was the restrictions on trash - an entire weeks stay with 8 people and we were only allowed two black trash bags due to how their trash pickup works. But that just required taking trash off when we left the cabin.
A great time in a great place;
the Fisherman's retreat had everything we needed and even more.
Until we come again,
Emmanuel and family

Thank you for your review, loved the pics of you and the family in the creek you sent to me. By the smiles on your faces, good times were had indeed. Look forward to having you and your family return sometime soon so you can enjoy yourselves once again.
Owners were very nice and easy to contact. Cabin was great and location was too. The river sounds so peaceful from the cabin. I even caught a rainbow trout on a lure down by the bridge. It's a great place to getaway for a week. My family loved it.

It was our pleasure to have you and your family at the cabin, we appreciate the compliment. Catching the trout I'm sure was the icing on the cake to a relaxing week getaway. Be sure to keep us in mind for a future stay we would love to have you return sometime.
Wonderful cabin beside a mountain stream. Comfortable and well equipped. We enjoyed being able to have our dog with us. Easy to get to and nice Ingles grocery store not to far away.
Hope to come back in the future!
Stayed a month to watch the leaves change and escape the Florida heat!
The house is so charming and the property has many touches that are just lovely! The longer you stay, the more you notice. The creek was clear and beautiful and the home is close to town but still feels remote. It truly was a retreat!
The cabin was clean and very spacious. My granddaughters loved the bedroom in the loft. The fenced in yard was perfect for my dog. I like Hayesville and all the small towns around it. We hiked the mountains and played in the creek and nearby lake. I will be back for another stay.

Look forward to having you back.
Take care,

Jody was wonderful to share this beautiful property with us so we could have a new adventure at Thanksgiving. It is convenient to all the things we wanted to do, we cozied up at the fire place or fire pit by the awesome brook and just enjoyed each other. The kids loved the game room downstairs and we all teared up when it was time to leave!

Always pulls on my heart strings when a family has enjoyed themselves as much as you all have and spent time right on the property to really delight in all the home offers in itself and the tranquility of the property. So happy to know it was your family's best Thanksgiving ever. Look forward to you and your family's future return for another awesome time spent for all of you.
My family of 5 (older teens/young adults) had a great time at Jody’s cabin. WiFi worked great for devices as I had to do remote work during our trip. Loved listening to the creek, and enjoyed the back deck. House was very clean with plenty of kitchen items for cooking and grilling. Loved the surrounding areas drove all over viewing the fall foliage. Can’t wait to come back for wildflower season.
This place was perfect for a girl's trip with our dogs! Loved the mountain chalet look and feeling! We had plenty of space. The Creekside sitting area w/fire pit was very enjoyable. What a plus to have a beautiful finished basement w/pool table, table top checkers & dart board! I highly recommend this property!

Thanks Vicki for your review. Pleasure to you you and the girls and the furry family members all had a great time. Nothing better than sitting in the tranquility of it all by the bon fire pit listening and watching the creek go by. Do keep us in mind for another girls trip would love to have you all back.
My family and I had such an amazing time here. The cabin was a dream! My children didn’t want to leave and neither did I! Everything about this rental was great. The host is so friendly and helpful with great communication. I had a hard time leaving to go home. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

It was my pleasure having you and your children stay at Fishermans Retreat. So glad that you and your kids enjoyed themselves for a much needed stay. Next time you will have to stay longer for sure and we look forward to having you back.
We had a baby and a bunch of kids with us, and this cabin was excellent for us! The house had games, the loft was exciting, and the creek was magnificent! Perfect for wading. Nearby was a 1 mile round trip hike to see Laurel Falls, and even the 3 year old could do it! The rustic cabin was clean, the kitchen SO well stocked, and it was so simple to interact with the owner. A wonderful vacation, would 5/5 recommend!
The home was quiet and the creek was relaxing to look at. It was close to downtown Hayesville, Hiawassee, and Franklin. We wish the whole fireplace could have been used instead it was a wood burning stove...but no big deal during the summer months. It was a cozy cabin with confortable beds. Our family had a relaxing vacation and the views in Hayesville are better than all the other towns. Thank you.
Good stay but had some restrictions upon arrival that should have been mentioned ahead of time, such as:NO CHILDREN PLAYING POOL-NO EXCEPTIONS. (This was one of the main reasons we booked this property because our kids shoot pool.)Four pages of requirements on the fridge.Several mentions of extra charges if we used too many trash bags or loads of laundry. Apparently they've had a few bad experiences. I felt like i was paying for others actions. Twin mattresses flattened once laid on, making you feel the hard base underneath. Good only for lightweight, small children. Our 12 year old slept in a chair instead. There is no cell service at all in the cabin. The property has many stairs, walkways with slate rock, gravel & uneven pathways to get to the amenities. We had an adult fall but not horrible, thankfully. Beautiful, very clean, open space with gorgeous views to celebrate Christmas with my family. Luckily i asked the day before we left about Christmas decor in the cabin. There was none so we brought our own.

We always appreciate our guests taking the time to leave reviews and feedback for suggested improvements. For clarification purposes and to also address just a few of your concerns. Indeed we have noted that no children are to play pool. It has been evident that little ones have been left unsupervised requiring the professional pool table to be refelted twice within a short time along with holes in the ceiling, broken and hidden sticks, missing balls, etc. However also noted is no "inexperienced" players. Your preteens being experienced would have been welcomed to play and we apologize for the misunderstanding and will reconsider changing the language used on the posted guidelines.
For our small town, trash collection is not included for residents. Most folks in the area take their trash to the local sanitation station as stated on the frig. However for our guests convenience we have opted for private pay scheduled weekly trash pickup and the trash company does set reasonable limitations.
We have not experienced any previous complaints about the twin trundle, thank you for bringing it to our attention.
The home is connected to fiberoptic high speed internet. Guests typically want to disconnect however all cell phones can be used by opting to "Wifi" calling setting on your cell phone. In case of power outage there is also the land line along with long distance calling if needed.
Most importantly due to the lay of the land, yes there are steps to the deck to the front door as well as stairs leading down to the creek and various hardscapes. To assist our potential guests in choosing a well suited property for themselves all exterior stairs are captured on the photos. Using the wheelchair ramp to avoid the risk of stairs to access the home, may have been the better option. We too are thankful it was nothing serious, We hope we clarified some of your concerns and are glad you found our home to be comfortable and clean with great views. Perhaps you will consider us for a future stay. Take care.
