Beach House - 6 BR - Pool

The Wavewatch is a beautiful beachfront house just 1 mile west of the main intersection in Gulf Shores. Upper and lower decks are attached to the living quarters. An additional large deck surrounding a 16 x 30 pool gives plenty of room for sunbathing and relaxing. The pool liner and deck were replaced in February 2026 along with seasonal interior upgrades in progress March 2026. The house is directly on the beach with spectacular ocean views. It is one of the premier properties on West Beach.

The Wavewatch is a duplex with each self-contained unit designated by 'West' and 'East'. (Rental information for Wavewatch East can be found at VRBO listing # 1061992.) Each unit contains 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms on 3 floors.
The top floor contains the master suite and two additional bedrooms. The master features a king-sized bed, walk-in closet, en-suite bath, and a private deck overlooking the beach and the pool. The 2nd bedroom had a queen sized bed, while the 3rd smaller bedroom is furnished with a regular sized bed. The hallway provides access to all bedrooms, the 2nd bath, and the laundry area

The main floor features a beautiful open concept living area. The entertainment area contains a large tv, couches and a recliner. The kitchen features granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, an enclosed pantry and a large island with seating. Plenty of pots, pans and cooking utensils are furnished. There are both a Keurig and standard coffee pots. The dining area contains a dining table with seating for 8. Also on this level are the 4th and 5th bedrooms. One has a king-sized bed and the other a queen bed. A newly remodeled bathroom (the 3rd one) is in the hallway on this floor. Sliding glass doors open from the entertainment area onto a large deck, with dining table for 6, overlooking the pool and the beach. Plenty of lounge chairs surround the pool

The lower level has an entry foyer, a large closet and the 6th bedroom. In that bedroom are a set of bunk beds and a twin bed. There is covered parking for 2 cars and additional off-road parking for 2 more cars.

The house comfortably accommodates groups of all ages and is appointed throughout with all of the comforts of home in an up-to-date style. This section of beach truly affords privacy but is only minutes away from the attractions and entertainments of Gulf Shores.

Just what our family needed for a great vacation. Beach location was excellent and the shared pool was a great addition. Owners were very responsive to a problem with the water heater and had someone there within a couple hours on a Sunday.

Overall it’s okay, but would not stay here again. House is older which we knew upon booking. We did not have hot water for 2.5 of our 4 night stay. Bill was responsive to our hot water issue, but had to have maintenance out to the property 3 different times before it was fixed. I attempted to discuss discount for this major inconvenience, but this was never followed up on or received. Overall it seemed clean. The newer showers were nice. Sheets smelled like mildew and had some stains- had to washed them night we arrived. Pool liner was ripped in multiple places. Porch had multiple raised place causing minor injuries to our children. No poolside umbrellas or shade. Broken poolside chairs. Porch/beach walkway grown up with brush and sand spurs.

This was a wonderful experience for our family! We loved having direct access to the beach, along with the private pool (which was shared with our neighbors). The house was very clean and supplied with everything we needed. The property is close to many restaurant options, as well as shopping not too far away. We hope to stay in this home again in the future.

This house is for families, we had a large family and had plenty of room. The pool was perfect for our 2 year old and teens. The owner is fabulous too. My only criticism would be less wine glasses and more kid friendly cups. Would live to come back !!!

Our family had a nice week on property with a few bumps along the way. The home had plenty of space for everyone. We were a little disappointed with a few things. Most of it was to be expected renting a duplex with tenants on the other half of the house. When we first arrived the family and several children on the other side of the duplex pretty much took over the pool and this continued throughout our stay. Including one of the children pooping in the pool on day one. So needless to say we weren't ever able to enjoy the pool. Also the tenants on the other side had way more vehicles than the 4 allowed and kept parking in our designated parking spaces. At one point there were 6-8 vehicles and way more than 13 occupants. So I am hoping in the future for a bit better occupancy and vehicle management from the homeowner so everyone can fairly enjoy their stay. We did have one issue with the house itself. We never really had enough hot water for more than 2 showers and on our last 2 days had no hot water at all. I am confident that had we brought this up to the homeowner this would have been resolved but we didn't want to bother with scheduling service during our stay. Not sure if the hot water heater is shared with the other half of the house. If so that would explain why we had no hot water. We enjoyed our stay and definitely enjoyed the location of the home. The home could use a bit of updating but over all is a good property.

Great beachfront property!

The location cannot be beat; right on the beach and wonderful pool. The layout is nice for family, so the kids can sleep away from the living room. Well stocked with pool floats and toys. The kids loved it! The property could use some upgrades (changing bed in one of the upstairs rooms, carpet in master) but overall wonderful property and would stay again!!

Nice duplex on beach worked well for our family .

The duplex location was great and grandkids loved pool and adults were able to enjoy beach view while kids in pool. We had a great time and worried a little about privacy of sharing pool with family in other unit but was not a problem. Only concern we had since we had young children was location of bunk bed bedroom was right by exit door so we ended up not using to sleep in but would be great for older kids, or maybe we were just over cautious. Overall great place and great locaton!

The house met all our expectations, it has all the amenities you need. Living room is comfortable and roomy. Kitchen is perfect for cooking all your meals.
