About this property

Rural dream accommodation in heritage-listed cottages from the 18th century.

Welcome to our paradise! The 18th-century cottages at Prästgården have lain dormant for 100 years until now, when they are being meticulously restored using traditional methods. The floorboards are worn, the ceilings are low, and the cosy atmosphere is unbeatable.

Here, you’ll cook your meals on a cast-iron stove and bake bread in a brick oven. For your convenience, modern bathrooms have been discreetly incorporated, and the beds are new and comfortable. Experience what it was like to live in the old days and enjoy the silence, collect eggs from the chickens, pet the goats and horses, and take a walk or bike ride to the lake.

The property consists of two cottages and a baker’s cottage located right next to each other. The coachman’s charming little cottage features a kitchen with an iron stove and a kitchen sofa, a bedroom with a wood-burning stove, and a small bathroom with a toilet and shower. The bed in the bedroom is 140 wide.

The larger tenant’s residence has two bedrooms in the rustically furnished attic. The larger bedroom has a 180-cm-wide bed with a Tempur mattress. The walls feature exposed timber, and there is a wood-burning stove. The smaller bedroom also features exposed timber and a 120-cm-wide bed.

On the ground floor is a kitchen with both a cast-iron stove and a baking oven. Adjacent to the kitchen is a bathroom with a toilet and shower, as well as a small room with a kitchen sofa and a wood-burning stove.

Both cottages have been restored with great care, where every detail is tasteful and well-thought-out, with the goal of preserving the feeling of a journey back in time. The clay-plastered walls are painted with homemade egg-and-oil tempera, the floorboards are scrubbed with soap, and the sparingly installed electrical fixtures are in the old style.

Each cottage has its own portable induction cooktop for use as needed, and to preserve the old-fashioned atmosphere, the refrigerator and microwave have been placed in the bakehouse between the two cottages, where firewood and charcoal are also available.

Both cottages have kitchen sofas that can be made into beds upon request.

The garden surrounding the cottages is available for use and is equipped with patio furniture and a grill. The family’s pool is available from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM or by arrangement. Bicycles are available to borrow, and it takes about 8 minutes to cycle to the lake, where you can enjoy swimming and fishing.

The Lövön Nature Reserve is located nearby.

The nearest supermarket is a 7-minute drive away, and the Tuna Parks shopping centre and Eskilstuna Parken Zoo are about 10 minutes away.
