The apartment was clean and had plenty of space for six people. We all sat and ate at the dining table a few times.We loved the design of the apartment with its archways, curved walls and even a bridge.The location was fantastic, in the middle of everything and near enough to one of the airport bus (AliBus) stops that we could drag our suit cases.Bed very comfortable.We stayed in Catania for five nights and there was plenty of activities, these were the highlights:- day trip up Mt Etna- day trip to Taormina- fish market- beach- restaurants

The apartment was nice for a short stay and overall had a decent setup. However, it was quite noisy at night, and there is ongoing construction outside which starts early and can be disruptive. There is also a mosque next door with worship services at various times throughout the day and night, so light sleepers may want to be aware of that. We also noticed ants around the apartment during our stay. Overall, it may work well for a brief visit, but there are a few comfort issues to consider.

Gebuchte Unterkunft erst ab dem dritten Tag verfügbarLeider verlief unser Aufenthalt nicht wie gebucht. Kurz vor unserer Ankunft wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass das von uns reservierte Apartment aufgrund eines größeren Sanitärproblems nicht zur Verfügung stehe. Für die erste Nacht erhielten wir eine Ersatzwohnung in unmittelbarer Nähe und die ausdrückliche Zusage, bereits am folgenden Tag in das ursprünglich gebuchte Apartment umziehen zu können.Die Ersatzwohnung war allerdings deutlich kleiner und weniger komfortabel als die von uns gebuchte Unterkunft und verfügte zudem über ein Bett weniger. Daher mussten zwei Personen auf einer Schlafcouch schlafen, die für eine erholsame Nachtruhe leider keine wirkliche Alternative war.Am nächsten Morgen wurde uns dann mitgeteilt, dass das Problem im gebuchten Apartment weiterhin nicht behoben sei. Da wir anschließend über längere Zeit keine konkrete Information erhielten und ich nicht noch eine Nacht auf der Schlafcouch verbringen wollte, habe ich schließlich auf eigene Kosten ein zusätzliches Zimmer für zwei Personen in der näheren Umgebung gebucht. Erst nach 19 Uhr kam die Nachricht, dass das gebuchte Apartment auch in dieser Nacht noch nicht verfügbar sei, verbunden mit dem Angebot einer weiteren Unterkunft mit Doppelbett. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt hatte ich das zusätzliche Zimmer allerdings bereits gebucht.Das war für uns ausgesprochen ärgerlich, zumal damit zwei Nächte unseres Aufenthalts nicht in der Unterkunft stattfinden konnt
