We enjoyed our stay at Manifold Cottage. The house is in the centre of Hartington and within walking distance to the local pub. The house was welcoming and clean with enough equipment for two people. A problem with the heating was quickly and efficient sorted by Henry. Overall a very enjoyable stay and we are likely to rebook in the future.
We had a wonderful week at Manifold Cottage. The location is right in the centre of Hartington. Hartington is a beautiful village, benefiting from a few village stores, tea room, farm shop, cheese shop, pub and hotel/bar/Indian restaurant. Chatsworth, Buxton, Bakewell, Matlock, Leek, Ashbourne and surrounding villages are all within 30 minutes. It is also a walkers paradise. The Cottage was spotless, spacious bedroom, bathroom and living room. The kitchen could do with some more storage space/shelves etc, but as we ate out almost every evening it was fine for the two of us and our dog. We phoned with a minor problem and Henry answered and dealt with it immediately. A really pleasant host.If you are intending to dine in The Devonshire Arms, I would recommend booking at least a day or two in advance. The Charles Cotton Hotel serves Indian and some English dishes and you can walk in ang get a table or takeaway. Would recommend both. Huge portions in the Charles Cotton.Hopefully we will return one day.Keith, Kim & Ralph
A lovely warm cosy cottage, one of 3 tucked away off road with safe private parking. Great for doorstep walks, pubs, tea rooms, novelty shops and a fish & chip wagon every Friday evening. The house was spotlessly clean, warm with a wonderful kingsize bed to rest the weary bones after a days walking and thirst quenching. My sincere thanks to owner Henry who, via a few standout pointers, clearly has his customers wellbeing at heart. We're no strangers to Hartington and will be back.
