4 of us stayed at the property and we loved it. The cabin is close to the main residence but the cabin areas are secluded and we felt very comfortable and private in our surroundings. Our hosts were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. A very successful getaway.
We had a nice one night stay at this cosy cabin which is in a picturesque part of Winchester near the streams. It's a fun adventure for a young family but probably not ideal for people with mobility issues as the two bedroom spaces require climbing/crawling through a small door. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the cabin but the kitchen is outdoors, which is a bit of a challenge on a wet/cold day. Would definitely stay again.
Lovely place to stay, friendly host who is very helpful with ideas. Cabin was homely and cosy, kids loved the bed set up. Outdoor kitchen was perfect, we cooked burgers and steaks to perfection. Kids where given the run of the garden and the boys have told me to give a 5 star review. Thank you for having us.
A very unique and beautiful cabin in the garden, in a nice part of Winchester. We had a great time during our stay. The only watch outs would be that the bedrooms are unique and small (but just per the pictures) so more than a night or two might be a bit much! Also it has an inside composting toilet, so may not be to everyone’s taste. Finally, the outside kitchen was very cool, but in mid September was already nippy in the mornings, definitely more of a summer spot!
a challenging review to write - the hosts were exceptional and the place had its charm but too many things needed improvement for us to enjoy this space. (as stated in the listing) the space is literally in their backyard meaning you'll be seeing inside their living room and they can see in yours. I guess we underestimated how uncomfortable this would be. there was no plunge pool, only stagnant water, due to excessive summer heat - not the hosts fault but we weren't informed of this until the day before arrival. our excitement about the outdoor kitchen was quickly negated by its dated and semi-clean wares - we ate out every night instead. no screens on any windows or doors so you either sweat or live with many insects (we did both) every rafter is laden with spiderwebs, we killed many but every morning we woke up with 1-4 new bites. at the end of our stay we each have around 12-15 swollen painful bites. the composting toilet doesn't seem to be attached to the floor so it rocks dangerously with every movement. overall we had difficulty finding space for anything - suitcases had no where to live, toiletries on the floor because there are no shelves, bathroom sink the size of a football, too many desks/tables/chairs that took up much needed space and got zero use. the only trashcan in the unit is 2 gal and in the bathroom, bathroom mirror lights on only one side so half your face is always in shadow. probably a great place for a night but after 5 days all of these things add up
