Roxby

Excellent property, minor details like more cooking pans, serving bowls and decent tea pot would be helpful.

Wow

What a lovely place to stay, it was an ideal place for walking from the door, or taking a bus ride, the cottage it’s self was well stocked with everything we needed, although we don’t cook while away we could of if we wanted as there was everything you would need, the furniture was all good condition and not the cheap stuff you sometimes get in holiday cottages, if there was any complaint it would be that the are not drawers in the small bedroom, others than that it was such a beautiful cottage, nearly forgot to mention the ducks cheeky little ducks knock on the window when they see you, would definitely recommend.

Stunning!

One of the best cottage rentals we've had - a real home from home, despite the rain! Simply stunning location with loads of great walking areas around. Great location near village and main routes into and through Lake District. Really clean, well equipped and comfortable. Service from Cumbrian Cottage Holidays brilliant. Cannot fault anything. Thankyou!

Just beautiful

Roxby is wonderful. Its location is superb, 2min walk to Pooley Bridge and the shops and pubs, 3min walk to the ferry. Its surroundings are so peaceful and the river is just stunning, along with all the wonderful wildlife it brings. We could've watched it all day! We arrived during storm Amy, which was wild, but the river stayed where it was meant to be! The house is brilliantly laid out, beautiful decor, and was spotlessly clean. Lovely hot power showers in the ensuits. All the utensils seemed new. And sharp knives! What can I say. We loved it and will be back. Its not especially cheap but when you compare with some other properties in the area its good value for money.

A Special Place For A Special Anniversary

We choose Roxby as somewhere for us to celebrate our 40th Wedding anniversary later this month. Roxby was perfect for it's location. Gail was very easy to communicate with and the cottage was eveything we wanted for our break. It was very peaceful despite the works going on next door. We were visited by a pair off ducks for breakfast everyday. On the last morning we were graced with the presence of a Red Squirell, what a treat. When we arrived the key safe was open, the keys were in the door on the outside and the door was wide open which was a bit of a worry, so we went in cautiously but there was no one inside. That was a bit of a worry. Because the door was open the cottage was roasting as the heating was trying to keep the place warm. There was no instructions for the heating in the folder. The vacuum cleaner was full, so we had to empty it before we could use it and on closer inspection the pipes are full as well. We tried our best to clean it out, but it wasn't our job. We have a similar one at home and it needs emptying and cleaning out each time it is used. It does need a very thorough clean.

Comfortable Bungalow in Great Location

Wow, what a fabulous view as we walked into the lounge and looked down the lovely garden to the wide river and the fields beyond. We enjoyed sitting in the garden and watching the varied wildlife, including a red squirrel that visited. The bungalow was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We all slept well. We easily parked two cars off the road. The bungalow is situated between the pier for the steamers and the village and both are less than 5 minutes walk away. In the small village there are plenty of places to eat, two well-stocked general stores, the steamer shop with a range of products and gifts and another shop with a range of items including pet supplies and camping items. Gail kept us informed at all times of the building work next door, which caused us no problems, and the improvements carried out by the owner between us booking and holidaying. We would certainly return.
