About this property
Soleby Cottage, Pendeen, Penzance , Cornwall,
In association with Trinity House, we are pleased to present Solebay Cottage at Pendeen Lighthouse.
Solebay is one of two holiday cottages available at the lighthouse and has a dramatic location on a granite headland on the North Cornwall Coast within a Site of Special Scientific Interest and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The South West Coast path passes round the headland, passing through part of Cornwall's oldest mining areas. The lighthouse lies six miles north of Land's End and two miles from St Just. The lighthouse was established in 1900, electrified in 1926 and automated in 1994.
You may be lucky enough to spot seals on the rocks below the lighthouse headland, as well as a variety of seabirds. With banks of seasonal pink thrift and golden gorse, the headland is a perfect location to watch the sun setting over the Atlantic.
Also on this site is Argus Cottage, sleeping three guests.
Additional Information: Two well-behaved dogs welcome (small additional charge). There is no WiFi service at Pendeen Lighthouse site. The lighthouse does not have a fog signal. Travel cot and highchair available on request. The dining table is extendable and is shown in the image at its largest. The table will be presented to guests without the middle section on arrival, however, this will be available for guests to extend if required. Please note: Very limited mobile signal. Guests should be aware that the lighthouses and equipment need regular and sometimes emergency maintenance. Therefore visits by maintenance staff may occur at any time during the year. However, staff will do their best to ensure guest privacy at all times. Guests are reminded they are renting a heritage building, therefore certain features such as steps, stairs and floor levels may not comply with that of a modern building. As such, we would advise guests to acquaint themselves with the premises on arrival and exercise caution accordingly. Access roads to the lighthouse site are narrow with limited passing places and, dependent on the season and site, there is the possibility of overhanging vegetation due to cutting restrictions during bird breeding seasons or other environmental reasons. A barbecue is not provided, however guests are welcome to bring their own, subject to adhering to the safety precautions set out in the arrival information. Sorry, no fireworks, drones or remote controlled flying equipment are permitted. Whilst the cliff edge is protected by a 4' high wall, due to the location of the lighthouse, please ensure that children are supervised at all times.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.
