Villa Luxenia is a beautiful property with all the amenities you can ask for- en suite bathrooms, pool, hot tub, an area to dine al fresco and balconies overlooking the water. It is close to restaurants and supermarkets and a nice stroll to historic Rethymno. The host is extremely hospitable and responds quickly to any question or problems. Fruits, eggs, water bottles, cheese welcomed us and on our departure we had parting gifts of raki and olive oil.

My room was spotless as were other areas such as kitchen, bathrooms and lounge. The balconies were much appreciated as the views were so beautiful over the coastal area and the fort in the distance, swims in the pool were enjoyed several times daily by all of us. The hot tub was a great favourite. Stellios our host and his daughter were very attentive and made sure all areas were clean and safe. We really appreciated the outdoor seating and barbecue area, the outdoor showers and utensils and crockery provided there. The kitchen was stocked with everything you could need for preparing and presenting meals. We thought the lounge area was tastefully furnished - both comfortable and attractive. We enjoyed lighting the garden charcoal burner and enjoying the extra light and focus it gave us as we looked out at the view of the Rethmno skyline in the distance that included the ships in the harbour and their movements. All in all a wonderfully enjoyable experience.
