Lovely cabin with all of the amenities! Close to everything and easy to get to if you don’t mind the winding roads. The driveway was a breeze as well. Very peaceful and lots of bear activity. Loved our stay and hated to leave.

What a great place to make family memories. We saw lots of bears and it was amazing. The chalet was so clean and Alan provided everything you’ll need for a comfortable stay. We went to the pool and clubhouse and my grandsons really enjoyed it. Thanks Alan hope to visit again.

This Chalet is a great place to stay in Gatlinburg. The cabin itself is tucked away with enough of a view to know you’re in the smokies, while also being secluded enough to feel like you have a good amount of privacy. Beware some of the steep, windy roads to get there, but the views are great. The interior of the chalet is beautiful and was very comfortable for our group of six adults. You also WILL see bears, we saw at least one every day we were there, which was very cool, and the outside deck and fencing is secure to keep them off and away from the deck. Overall this is a great stay, would highly recommend, and the host was incredibly responsive and kind. 10/10

Thank you Alan for another great week in your chalet. Love the chalet and saw over 50 bears in 7 days. The chalet is super clean and all the king beds are very comfortable. We would never stay anywhere else. Can’t wait to come back. My sister stayed at Treetop, your other chalet And also loved it.

Beautiful Cabin. Peaceful and quiet. Gorgeous views and a few bears passing by in the mornings and sunset. Alan was fantastic with the few questions that I had. Would DEFINITELY come here again.

Great place for 3 couples. The location has a great view. Driving up there can be a bit scary if you're not used to mountain roads. Make sure you have really good brakes and brake pads because the drive up is steep. The driveway can accommodate 3 cars but it was a tight squeeze. 2 cars only is better. The host responded to my messages in a timely manner. Hot tub felt really nice. Fireplace was only available in the wintertime and you have to bring your own firewood. The back window of my friend's truck got broken into by a bear so make sure to take out all food, drinks, and especially empty out your car trash every night. Cop said it happens all the time.For such a large cleaning fee, the place could've been more cleaner. There were cobwebs in the chandelier so we weren't happy with that. There was some trash on the driveway too.

Vicky, Thanks for your stay at Honey Bear and we appreciate the comments! This helps us to stay up with our housekeepers. Autos need to be securely LOCKED with all windows completely closed. Bears see the hehicles as possible sources to find food and are not shy to investigate. I suspect the trash you noted on the driveway might be due to bear activity (a common issue in the area as they try to get into the trash)- our housekeepers remove debris and blow off the outdoor surfaces in preparation of a guest's stay. In any case, we're glad you enjoyed yourselves and hope to see you again!

This cabin was beautiful and the perfect spot for us to go snowboarding at Ober Mountain as well as visit downtown Gatlinburg. Alan was so helpful when our dates changed very last minute. The bed was comfy, and we definitely made use of the fireplace, hot tub, and pool table.

Great cabin. It is an older building built in the 70s, but REALLY well maintained. Host communication was timely and the place was spotless. The view of the mountains from the porch is mostly obstructed by trees, but there are amazing views from the road every time you are leaving or coming back to the cabin, so not a big deal.This cabin is on a bear path and it is highly likely that you will see black bear. Don't leave food outside and you shouldn't have too much to worry about.Would rent again.

Why they chose this property

Perfect location for family fun in Gatlinburg!! Stay at home and enjoy the mountain around or use it as the base to go visit the local sights. Honey Bear will fit the bill!

Located 1/2 a mile from Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort and right above Gatlinburg (5 min drive to downtown Gatlinburg and Smoky Mountain Park entrance).

Honey Bear is on a ridge with direct views of Mt LecConte and side views of the mountains behind and to the sides. The chalet gets good natural light from all sides and throughout the day. It had 'good bones' and was ready for a contemporary renovation! Close to everything the area has to offer but with privacy and exceptional scenery!

What makes this property unique

Honey Bear has been renovated and maintained to embrace modern living while maintaining the heart of an 'authentic mountain chalet'. It was never intended as a business, but rather as a place that our extended family would want to come and gather together. We expect high standards and want our guests to have the same experience!

Expect high quality finishes, furnishings 'made in America' , and decorated in a unique and tasteful manner. Think: traditional mountain home, but without sacrificing modern comforts.

After a day of hiking or in the city, there is nothing quite like returning to Honey Bear Chalet to enjoy outdoor grilling, a hot tub under the stars, and movie nights together!
