The pretty coastal village of Mawbray is the perfect base to explore the unspoilt Cumbrian coastline. Some of the finest sand dunes in the area are found at Mawbray Banks just half a mile from the house, and the Lake District National Park is just 12 miles away. Keen golfers will find some good courses within 5 miles at Silloth which is a traditional seaside town. Maryport, with its harbour, is 12 miles away, where you will find an Aquarium and an indoor go-carting and click n’ climb centre. There is also a superb indoor caving system at the Wave Centre. The Roman fort and museum are also a great day out for the history fans in your party.

From the private drive, you will find a covered porchway. Enter this lovingly restored barn and you will find a spacious hallway. There is a bright lounge with comfy sofas, a Smart TV and wood burner, and next to this is a utility room with lots of storage for coats and walking boots or sandy flip-flops. Within the utility room, there is a shower room with WC. Walking back through the hallway, you will find the hub of the home, a beautiful open-plan kitchen, informal lounge area and dining room with bi-folding doors which open up onto the patio and pergola. The kitchen has an island, with a breakfast bar and is well equipped with an electric range-style oven and hob, built-in microwave, dishwasher, large American fridge/freezer and Dolce Gusto coffee machine. There is a large dining table in front of the bi-folding doors which offers the perfect spot to sit down as a family or group and enjoy breakfast or an evening meal. This room offers a fabulous social space with a Smart TV and a large corner sofa. Back into the hallway, you will find a games room at the bottom of the staircase - this room will prove a hit with the younger members of your party, with a Nintendo Switch, Smart TV, bean bags, lots of games and toys, and a pool table. As you head up to the first floor, there are four bedrooms, all with their own theme. You will find the Highland Cow bedroom which has a king-size bed, then The Hare bedroom is next door which has a super-king-size zip-and-link bed (which can be made into twins on request). In between the four bedrooms, there is a family bathroom with a free-standing bath, a separate rain shower with jets, and a WC. The pretty Sheep bedroom has twin beds and an interconnecting (lockable) door to the gorgeous Bird themed king-size bedroom next door. The light floods through the first-floor landing as it has a unique large picture window that looks down into the kitchen area.

There is a private enclosed garden with seating to enjoy a good book or coffee on a nice morning. There is also a separate wildlife garden with a bug hotel and a fabulous patio that features a private hot tub beneath the pergola. There is private parking on the drive for up to three cars.
