House is nice, but not the property management
Days in advance we emailed Bennington Property Management whether an early checking will be possible. They said: "Check around noon on the check-in day". At that exact time we SMS-ed and the response was: "the house is still being cleaned. Check around 2pm". Later we messaged again and the response was: "the house is still being cleaned. Check later". At 4pm the response was the same. At 4:30pm we drove to the property since it was getting dark and our young kids were getting upset. The house was locked and no one was inside. We called Bennington and they told us the house is "still being cleaned". We tried to open the door with the access code but it didn't work. After several messages and phone calls back and forth, we were still in the dark about whether we will be able to check-in today and stay in this house or need to urgently look for a hotel. Around 5pm the cleaning team showed up and explained that this is not their house to clean. They came because they were told to. It wasn't on their to-do list. They opened the front door and the house was a mess. Somebody checked-out long ago, yet beds, towels, and everything else was dirty. The cleaning team had a lot of work ahead of them. Thankfully by 6pm they managed to get it done. We got in, unloaded the car and went to bed tired and exhausted. 5 stars to the cleaning team and 1 star to Bennington "property management". To be fair, at the end they refunded us $150 for a "less than stellar check-in".
