Allegre is an ancient ruin on which we have worked for 30 years. She kept the southern typical aspects (stone house) with modernities keys (large glass openings). It has a large living room, 2 terraces: one open and a window overlooking a secure pool with 3 pools (suitable for all ages!) and 5 bedrooms and a kitchen fully equipped and an upstairs kitchenette. Piano tuned and respect. Authentic materials, natural, local stone, wood, terracotta, glass and iron: hamlet environmentally It is a quiet and spacious place.

We had a lovely time, we did have a few issues with the sink which did get repaired. Had an issue with the power down stairs which got resolved. All in all we had a good time and the kids enjoyed it. Needs a bit of updating but it was a good stay.

We (2 families: 4 adults; 4 children) had a great time at this property! Its location is quite remote (the property is in the village of Malataverne), very close to Lussan; and situated on the side of a hill - access is down a narrow bumpy lane (which will be a challenge for cars with low clearance). And there are quite a few steps to the property itself - i would say the property is not ideal for young children (under ~8 years) or people over ~65 years. The property can be described as "quirky" and reflects the host's character and creative personality! We liked it! 4 bedrooms, 2 with ensuite bathrooms; large lounge/dining room; kitchen with lots of utensils, etc (2 large fridge/freezers; microwave; dishwasher); wi-fi speed was okay for the remote location (no complaints from kids!). The house did get quite hot in the heatwave. Outside, there's a BBQ, dining table, and decent size pool for cooling off, and plenty of areas of sunshine or shade. Great views and sunsets!
The host was very welcoming and lives in part of the property - we only saw or heard him in the mornings cleaning the pool, etc, when we chatted to him regarding places to see, local amenities, etc. He spoke some English and we spoke a little French, so we were able to get by.
Nearby in Fons-sur-Lussan, there is a family-run convenience store - has everything you need including daily bread delivery (need to order by day). The people who run it are very friendly. And a good restaurant. Mejannes-le-clap has a small supermarket (chain), restaurant, butchers, bar.. plus a swimming pool with slide. Lussan can be walked to - find the coffee shop! Ales, Uzes, and Pont du Gard are all worth a visit. The highlight was the cascades at La Roque-sur-Ceze.
Overall, this is a lovely part of France and we had a very relaxing 3-week stay at this property!

Beautiful location. Very French and authentic.
Lovely property in a beautiful setting. The outside space was the highlight. Our host was very helpful as we had car troubles on arrival and went out of his way to find us a garage. The house is a good size for a family and well equipped. The surrounding area is beautiful, so much to see and do. Weather was amazing so made good use of the pool. We were made to feel very welcome and even though the owner lives on-site we were never aware of this, felt like the space was all ours.
The property could benefit from more outside furniture as this was limited and meant we were moving it around on steps that could be a little dangerous. The 3 pools in fact was only one as the bottom is an overflow and the top one was never filled. There are a lot of steps to the house which some may find difficult.

We had a very nice holiday in this unusual villa in Roman architecture with a rare waterfall linked set of round pools. The highlights are definitely the pools, the elevated terrace and the picturesque view. The interior is large and complicated, it is a reflection of the owner’s artistic spirit jam packed with everything and anything. Takes time to get used to. The owner very sympathetic and fixed some technical problems very promptly. Kitchen is a low point asking for refurbishment. Overall very enjoyable and peaceful vacation stay.
