For golfers worldwide, St Andrews is the Home of Golf – a place they must visit at some time in their life. However, the seven public courses of St Andrews represent only a few of the many excellent courses to be found within a short ‘drive’. Apart from golf, the ancient town of St Andrews is steeped in history, having the oldest university in Scotland, and its large medieval cathedral dating back to the 12th century. For others, the attraction is in the miles of unspoilt beaches, woodlands and peaceful countryside , where they can fish, hike, cycle or generally just explore, freely and uninterrupted. New Lulgate is ideally situated near the top of Lucklawhill, between St Andrews and Dundee, approximately 7 miles from each. There is a large open lounge area with gas fireplace, opening out to the conservatory with its superb views. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped. There is also a separate dining room, and an area has been set out as a possible workplace for those who cannot ‘leave their work at home’. Wifi is accessible. The large shower room is well-fitted with a modern suite comprising double shower cubicle, W.C., sink and bidet, and another W.C. is also available. This place was incredible. The views. The kitchen was stocked. And the laundry facilities were a life saver.Shout out to hosts Gordon and Marion who were fantastic.Trust me.. The views alone are worth it
Property and views of countryside were amazing. 15 min. from St. Andrews. Host and hostess were incredibly nice and helpful. Would love to return and of course stay there again.
Gordon and his wife were so helpful, giving us clear directions to his home and sourcing a cab driver to take us to town - as it's a bit far and we didn't have a car. The property is even more beautiful in person, with a view that silenced our busy travellers' minds! The interior is thoughtfully appointed with a unique layout that made it quite spacious for our family of four. We only wish we could have stayed longer!
This was the perfect spot- the property was lovely, clean, quiet, comfortable beds. The view was amazing- sat in conservator, was so peaceful.Gordon snd his wife were so lovely and helpful. Will definitely return next time we’re in area.
Spacious home, Full of all household amenities imaginable. Beautiful scenic views from sunroom. Hosts available for any support. Very courtious to provide with few perishable and food amenities upon arrival.
Gordon and Marian thank you so much for making our stay so enjoyable. The views, location and accommodation were outstanding and you were so helpful and friendly. We would certainly return.

We had a lovely week staying in your beautiful property. Gorgeous scenery from lounge as well as from the conservatory.
Would recommend this as a good base for the area. Close to St Andrew's and Dundee as well as the pretty harbours along the south Fife coast.
Fabulous stay at this cottage in picturesque scenery! Great and comfortable place with stunning views from the conservatory. Ideal spot for visits to St Andrews and the Fife region. Very kind hosts who supplied us with eggs, milk, cheese, bread, and even short bread. Definitely a recommendation!
Interesting two level property. Nice and quiet with great views. Everything worked and owners very kindly left a good many provisions on arrival. We enjoyed it there.
Lovely welcome from Gordon and the welcome pack was phenomenal. The kitchen was also very well stocked which was greatly appreciated. We had our dog with us and although the garden wasn't fully enclosed it was a really good large space for our dog to explore. The views from the garden room are just amazing - lovely to sit here with a morning coffee.
Lovely garden to sit in all day with gorgeous views. The beds were comfy, the house was well equipped with everything we could have needed and the hosts were welcoming when we arrived. We would definitely consider booking again.
