The perfect getaway for couples and families and also convenient for business travelers and those just passing through! Private and pet-friendly, our restored 1933 bungalow is on 18 acres, so you feel like you are in the country, yet you are just minutes from I-70 and shopping/entertainment, like The Legends and Azura Amphitheater. Get your best night of sleep on a plush mattress with lavender-scented pillows. Cook in a full kitchen or grill out back. Soak in the bath tub, relax on the front porch, walk the paths, let the kids play and take delight in a few surprise features. We have Google Fiber and a dedicated work space for those booking for business.

Our home is a convenient 20-minute drive from the airport and downtown KCMO; 30 minutes to Fort Leavenworth; and 30 minutes to Lawrence, home of The University of Kansas.

Our guests have told us that we have thought of everything to make their stay complete! A fully prepped kitchen -- check. Bath salts and soaps -- check. Slippers at the door and cozy throws throughout -- check. We specialize in making a stay with us memorable, and we invite you to experience the difference for yourself.

This was a great property. Beautiful, creative, clean, convenient, quiet, spacious, … just perfect for us. Wonderful get away, immaculately updated farmhouse. On a country road, but a five minute drive from restaurants and stores. Hosts were very nice and we loved that they welcome dogs. The property is quite large so we could wander around without having to go near the street. That said, the street had almost no traffic.

This was the first VRBO I have booked, and it did not disappoint. The check in and out process was seamless. And the location was perfect. It is located just outside of town, so it has the feel of the country but you are minutes from town. The house was very clean, and had everything you could need or want. If i ever find myself in the area again , I will definitely be booking it again.

Love this little house

This is the second stay at this lovely little house tucked away in a very beautiful setting close to everything. It has a country vibe but if you need city life, it's just minutes away. We were there for a Country Music Festival and it worked out so nicely with the proximity being so close to the festival grounds. We hope to come back here every year. Very clean and well equipped with everything you need.

Great spot for a stop-over

Stayed here with my 2 year old son, husband, dogs, and cats when we were in the process of moving to Texas from Iowa. Perfect spot for everyone to relax and great property to get the dogs some exercise in the morning before we got back on the road.

Country Stampede Retreat

we absolutely loved this cute little farmhouse. It was close to the Country Stampede and to Legends. We loved having a place to go hang out in a peaceful neighborhood. We will rent again if we come back next year.

This place was so cute and aesthetic! Decor was beautiful! The second we walked in it smelled so clean and was very clean, cleanest place we’ve probably stayed! The owners were super easy to work with! The house has everything you could ever need from the kitchen to the bathroom! The location is great, so much stuff around, but still a secluded vibe! 10/10 would reccomend!

Excellent Getaway

The house was very well decorated and clean. The location was very peaceful and quiet yet close to many options for restaurants, shopping, etc.. During our long weekend stay we saw deer crossing through the yard and well as multiple hawks in the large trees located on the property. We will definitely stay again on our next trip to the area to visit family.

A real gem!

This farm-house is truly a hidden gem with just the right mix of privacy and access to activities and the highway! We loved our time walking the fields with our dog and enjoying the wonderfully restored and appointed historic home.

I have lived in Kansas City my whole life, and my husband, Michael, is from the Chicago suburbs. We met at the University of Kansas and decided to stay in the heart of America, with its low cost of living, lots of amenities and activities to offer, and its central location for our passion of traveling the world. We enjoy a lifestyle of flexibility, and we use our time to constantly improve our property. We love meeting new people and sharing what we have created!

Why they chose this property

We wanted a simpler lifestyle in this crazy, fast-paced world, a place grounded in nature, where we could watch sunsets and enjoy food fresh from the earth. We bought our first 9-acre farm in 2006 and designed and remodeled it to make it our own. A few years later, we purchased a second 9-acre property next door to us to turn into a short-term vacation rental. We have poured our time, energy and money into making this house a charming, comfortable and functional retreat for guests. It's so lovely we wish we lived here!

What makes this property unique

A secluded retreat five minutes from the state's largest tourist destination?! That's hard to find! We knew we had come across someplace special and had a vision for this old farmhouse that needed a lot of TLC. We have restored it with an eye for design, with lots of textures and details for setting a relaxing scene. We hope your stress will melt away during your stay!
