We stayed just two nights and hiked from the house one afternoon and from Pine Grove Furnace State Park the second day. The cabin is in a quiet area and it presents a great “cabin” atmosphere. We found everything to be just as described in the listing. If you’re looking forward to relaxing in a quiet location, this is a perfect place to stay regardless of the time of year.Accommodations are perfect for up to three couples. The host was also very attentive and offered helpful ideas for things to do in the area. Our group has spent time in the woods of north central PA, New Hampshire and Maine. Our stay here felt very much like these other locations, but was a much shorter drive from our home outside of Philadelphia. We are already considering another trip back in the future. Thanks for the great accommodations!
Beautiful cabin with lots of space. Owner very easy to reach and very helpful. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a place that feels secluded but isn’t too far from plenty of things to do.
This property was the perfect getaway. It is stocked with everything you need. Very comfy. The fireplace is amazing and they supply plenty of firewood. Great communication with the owner/manager. Will definitely keep this on our list.
Property is easy to access, located near many local hiking trails, and convenient to groceries and necessities if needed. Plenty of space for a larger group but also not too big for our small family of 3. Thanks for a great stay!
My husband and I came for 5 nights to attend a Gravel Bike camp, held just down the road in the Michaux Forest. The cabin was just a perfect location and so beautiful! We were very comfortable in the spotless cabin. We enjoyed a couple fires in the fireplace and the tranquility of the area. A beautifully designed home. Some of our cyclist friends wanted the info to book this cabin as well when they saw my pictures!!
Everything was provided and well stocked. We just loved the coziness of the place. We knew this home is well loved with the attention to detail. The backyard firepit was amazing where we enjoyed some s’mores. The living room space was perfect for chatting and playing games. The kitchen had everything and more for our meals. The home was close to Pine Grove Furnace where the lakes and hiking trails were great. Thank you so much for opening your home.
Nice, comfortable cabin with good amenities, quiet area in the woods. Only con is the cabin is very creaky and walls are thin, you can hear everything going on in the other rooms.
I rented this little cabin while visiting my family in the area. I needed somewhere I could cook and have some quiet time in between visits. The place was perfect for that. It has the basic cooking equipment you need to put a meal together. There are plenty of dishes and glasses and such. Burt is a very welcoming host and the cabin is really sweet. With two living rooms and a loft upstairs, I could see this being plenty of space for four adults and three children. Or five adults.
The cabin is clean and well appointed. I used the cabin for my base of operations for some fly fishing in the numerous nearby streams/creeks. If you’re looking to relax and unwind, this is a great place.
Our stay at The Forest House @ Warren Lake was excellent. And our Host was even better. Everything we needed and wanted... and no hassles. Clean and well-maintained. Quiet and safe neighborhood. Wish we could stay longer. No doubt we'll try to stay again and again.
A perfect secluded getaway for me and my husband. We absolutely loved our long weekend at the Forest House. The cabin is clean and very cozy, and well stocked with essentials. The location is beautiful and conveniently located to Michaux Forest and many good hiking spots. When we weren’t out exploring, the fireplace and firepit were perfect for a relaxing night. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
The Forest House cabin is a lovely and comfortable place to enjoy some peace and quiet in a tranquil forest setting. One highlight of our stay at The Forest House was watching a deer stroll across the backyard while enjoying a blazing fire in the fire pit in the backyard. We appreciated the gracious hospitality and abundant supplies that made our stay very enjoyable. We are thankful for the happy memories we made while staying in The Forest House!
We enjoyed our “girls trip” reunion at the cabin.
The fireplace and outdoor fire pit added to our experience. The home is clean and beautiful & the beds are comfortable.
The kitchen is not ideal for cooking for a group & the living room seating is more suitable for 4-5 max.
We were surprised to receive a message from the owner on our second day questioning the number of people staying at the house as well as if we had a dog. It felt creepy & invasive and we started wondering if there were cameras or someone watching us.
Thank you to our host Burt and his family. We had a wonderful time. The cabin and property grounds are beautiful. Great time celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary and the gifted bottle of wine was very sweet.
Property was exactly as stated on website. Very serene, peaceful and beautiful. I would definitely recommend this house and would stay there again. Everything was supplied and all we had to do was chew our own food and wipe our own butt! How’s that for simple?!?!
The Forrest House was a perfect retreat for our family! It was beautifully nestled into the surrounding woods and offered the serenity we were looking for as a weekend getaway. The home was well stocked and had everything we could possibly need, including linens, towels, and coffee to make travel and the stay effortless. The owners even left a bottle of wine which was a great touch and we thoroughly enjoyed :) Would love to come back in the fall or winter to get to enjoy the outdoor firepit or the indoor fireplace! Thanks again

Why they chose this property
We have worked really hard to make The Forest House nice, clean, fun and most of all affordable. Folks tell us that we should be charging more—but, quite frankly, we are tired of being priced out of vacation homes ourselves. In return, we ask folks to take care of the place and help keep the magic alive. Have a great stay. The Forest House @ Lake Warren Estates
