Property was everything we were looking for. Bedrooms are big, king size beds were comfortable, loved having all the balconies/porches. Kitchen items were very basic, but we made do. I brought a collapsible strainer which I did need to use so I was glad I packed that. I would stop at the dollar store and get some disposable baking sheets and a small cheese grater if you think you’ll need those items. There are stink bugs, ladybugs, and wasps, which they made clear in their listing. They did not bother me but my daughter screamed bloody murder every time she saw one, so sorry if any neighbors heard her screaming lol there were a few games to play and my kids enjoyed the Nintendo. The tv had all the apps already loaded and ready to go which was nice in the evenings. I wished I would’ve brought a telescope, there were so many stars!! Don’t be scared by the howling you’ll hear late at night, just go to one of the bedroom balconies where you know you’re safe lol I sat on the porch and balcony every chance I could just enjoying the sounds of nature. We spent one day fishing and hiking at Stroud’s Run/Dow Lake. It is a beautiful park, highly recommend. All in all we had a wonderfully peaceful stay and would definitely stay there again if ever in the area.
The location was very convenient, close to everything I wanted to see, and the area was quiet and peaceful. The cabin had all the basic necessities and was functional for our stay. While it didn’t have the cozy cabin feel we were expecting and could benefit from some updates and added ambience, it was comfortable enough overall. For the price, it worked well, especially if location and quiet are your main priorities.
We had a wonderful weekend enjoying biking, hiking, and visits to local breweries. The cabin was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The views from the porches were beautiful. Truly a great visit.
Real nice place for the price. As advertised stairs are a bit steep, but other than that i would definitely recommend this home to others. Great views. In the country. Very quiet. We will be back.
The cabin was nice. The stairs are steep like they say. If you have a dog they might have a hard time getting up and down. It was pretty at night to sit and look at the stars. Overall it was a good place of you want to be in the woods.

Cabin definitely needs updated and could have been cleaner. Not much lighting inside and very little water pressure in shower. But the bed was very comfortable and it was in a very remote peaceful area. I would stay again bc of the cost, being dog friendly and close to family members.

Well, while we have done alot of updates. Air units, new backporch, flooring in the kitchen and upstairs. The place is 35 years old and will always need something. We do have plans to paint, replace the front porch and kitchen cabinets. We appreciate feedback, if you would like to message me what wasnt clean to standard we would love to know.
Other people were in our cabin. They had made a mistake
It was fine except for the people that had moved into the wrong cabin which created a little extra trouble for us. Maybe house numbers on a sign in the yard
A great place tucked away in the hills outside of Athens.
A nice place to stay for vacation or work trips as the property is is close enough to Athens for convenience but far enough away from to be quiet and secluded. Very dog friendly as they provide food/water bowls, towels for and a nice little mowed walking path to take the mutts for a walk. I'd definitely stay here again if I'm needing a place in the area.
Arrived on Motorcycle had a an issue and homeowner assisted. Was nice and accommodating. Gave us the secluded atmosphere we wanted for our Anniversary Weekend. Would visit again.
The cabin was just what we needed for our motorcycle trip to Athens. The driveway was a little tricky on the motorcycle but that won't stop us from returning. The views were great! The welcoming basket was a nice touch! Grinding my own coffee beans in the morning was a first for me! We were only able to ride 2 of Ohio's Windy 9 so we will be back!!

Really beautiful and quaint! I stayed for a week and ok forward to staying again!
We really enjoyed the cabin. So quiet, peaceful and a verynice place for our 2 dogs. Everything here that you would need for grilling, cooking, ect. Bed and recliners very comfortable. Hosts very accommodating and the Welcome basket was so thoughtful!! Highly recommended!
We were in town for OU graduation so did not spend a lot of that the property. I would have liked to take advantage of the fire pit and the lovely back decks.
We loved our weekend stay at this great little cabin! It was easy check-in, very clean, great communication with the owners, and beautiful scenery. I highly recommend this rental and hope to return. Thank you for an enjoyable stay and for helping "save" my husky!
My family and I had a good time staying here.
Pros: the kitchen was fully-stocked with all pots, pans, dishes, utensils, etc. that you could possibly need. The oven was brand new, as well as the kitchen counter. The living room had new furniture. The view was completely amazing. Two new decks had recently been built and they were really nice. The location was wonderful. It was quiet and we loved seeing and hearing the wildlife. The owners were very nice and quick to respond to any messages. They left us eggs fresh from their chickens and that was really cool. The beds were both king-sized and very comfortable. We all slept well every night. It's also a plus that they accept pets, as we were able to bring our dog and he enjoyed himself, as well.
For the cons: It was honestly difficult to believe that any sort of cleaning had been done before we arrived. The listing said that all high-touch surfaces are cleaned after each guest, but the refrigerator handle, as well as the inside of it, were very dirty and covered in old pieces of food. We had to clean it before putting any of our food inside of it. I did tell the owners about that and they apologized and said that they were planning on replacing that fridge soon. That wasn't the only thing that was dirty, though. The kitchen table had crumbs on it, the front door was covered in some brown liquid, there were spider webs all over the kitchen, the drawers were not clean inside, the light switches in every room were dirty, the knobs on the oven were dirty, and the floors appeared to have not been swept. The bathroom had dried toothpaste spit on the walls above the sink, and every wall in the cabin was covered with bug dirt. There were a lot of stink bugs in the cabin, as is expected when out in the country, but it would've been nice if their dirt had been cleaned off of the walls. There were trails of it everywhere, including on the wall that the bed was backed up against, so that was pretty gross. The cabin is currently under construction and I can see that they are making wonderful improvements, so I do feel bad even noting these things, but it definitely needed to be cleaned a lot more before we came in for our stay. We had to clean a lot of things ourselves upon arrival. There was also an outlet cover missing in the living room, which was a little dangerous for our child to be near, and the whole place smelled like moth balls, which we quickly got used to. I give this cabin a 3 overall.

Hey I appreciate the honest review. You are right we are in transition. Winter has been rough, I spent the day cleaning the yard. It was a mess.. We apologize that the cabin wasn't up to standard on the cleaning. I take that seriously. We did wipe the surfaces down, we must of missed some spots and/or set something on the table afterward. We aim to do better than what was described..I guess its time for some spring cleaning.. i wasn't aware of the electric cover ill check it out. Thanks for letting us know the good and bad we really do appreciate all feedback.
