This property is beautiful. I believe that we will be staying here in the future. Between the river and the hills there is a view that is worth the amount for the house.

A beautiful home situated on the Ohio river

We loved our visit at the Ohio home!! It was perfect for our family. We love the beauty of the Ohio River and the seclusion of the setting. Linda was great to work with. We were there for a 2 day stay for a horse show and it was perfect. The house was just beautiful!!

Beautiful home

Larger than it looks! Great outdoor space and loved watching the barges float by. Very peaceful and not a bad drive from Columbus. We explored Athens for a day and came back for a soak in the hot tub. Kitchen is nicely stocked with all the utensils and cookware. Great for adults and kids. Thank you for sharing your home!

Much needed

My crew and I booked this house as we worked on one of the local Walmarts about 30 minutes away. The house is probably one of the coolest vrbos that I’ve stayed in. getting down to the house was exciting because of the steep driveway but I wouldn’t expect anything less. The house was comfortable. It smelled good and had everything we needed to cook meals and have the much needed rest that we needed after working all day will definitely stay next time We are in the area, Linda was great responding to everything.

This house is absolutely amazing! The house is a short walk to the Ohio river which was absolutely amazing to wake up to. Definitely a place where we were able to come together as a family. We did notice there was a bit of dust and there were a couple of what we thought were lady bugs inside, turns out it’s another form of invasive beetle. There were plenty of instructions on how to maintain the property which were easy to follow but some of the short falls were we had to bring our own towels and sheets. We did travel from California to Ohio so having to stop to look for cheap sheets and towels was not on our list to do but had to incorporate it into our plans. The dryers timer is inaccurate so had to play with the settings a bit to get our clothing dry and we did find some expired items around the house to include medication in a first aid kit and items in the pantry/refrigerator. We will stay here again in the future just be better prepared with the linen situation.

Bug Infested!

This is a beautiful home. However, when we went into the house, there were over fifty live stink bugs in just the kitchen. We weren't able to stay. The home owner did refund all of our money EXCEPT the cleaning fee! That's right! We weren't able to stay because of the bugs, yet we had to pay the cleaning fee! WOW! Rent elsewhere.

This lady is crazy do not attempt to rent to her. Yes there were some stink bugs and apparently they gathered at the back window and door and they show up after the first cold night. I offered to come immediately and clean them up she was practically crying. I then offered a full refund which according to our contract is only done with early cancellation by weeks not when you check in. I have to pay the cleaning people for the booking ahead of time because it is a weekend and in a remote location that's the agreement and it's in the contract. I then had to spend time on the phone with vrbo since she called and said the house had vermon bugs and infestations. All this over some stink bugs that took 20 minutes to clean up. Beware!

This is a beautiful property! We stayed here from Friday pm until Monday am in early May 2026. Unfortunately right after waking up on Sunday around 10 am the power went out (not due to an outage in the area or weather) with the power went the water (so no toilets flushing or showers) we waited around all day wondering when or if it would be back on with no time given. At 5:30pm we were thinking about packing up to leave before it got dark I checked in with Linda again and was told she would call the electric company I got an eta for 6:30p. AEP turned it back on…it only took a couple minutes at the pole. Had to wait another hour for the maintenance guy to come and get the water going. Tried to do our laundry that I had planned to do during the day Sunday -we made sure to get a place with a washer and dryer for that reason. After the electric and water came back on we found the washer and dryer didn’t work.Washer kept tripping a breaker and shutting off. Finally got it done hours later by standing guard and in the dryer before bed only to find our clothes wet when we woke. Ran the dryer all morning but still ending up with wet clothes to be redone once we got home. There was no apology or anything else offered for this inconvenience disappointing for what was supposed to be a relaxing weekend getaway! Also fyi make sure to bring toilet paper, trash bags & linens or pay an extra per person for linens and access to get down the hill is beside the other houses driveway

Great experience

We had a great stay. Very comfy and isolated. There was a road that went down to the river (we have 4 WD, but wouldn’t recommend trying it without). We were able to sit there and enjoy the nature in complete silence. The hot tub was amazing once it reached temperature. The whole house was clean (a different smell in it, but when it’s not frequently occupied it’s to be expected). All in all it was a 5* experience. My only complaint it that the hot tub was not useable on our first night because the temperature was set too low and not turned up early enough upon our arrival. This still doesn’t take away from the peacefulness and elegance the house has to offer. Thank you for the experience.

We purchased the property as a young couple in order to continue our tradition of living near the water as we both did as children. This property was close enough to our home that it was great for weekends trips.

Why they chose this property

We spend the day on the water and finish with a great dinner, a hot tub and a movie.

What makes this property unique

We love to BBQ on the deck and then go for a long boat ride.
