The Downtown House - 1820s home steps from Main Street in downtown Galena

Just steps from Main Street in downtown Galena, this beautifully rehabbed 1820s vacation rental home sleeps up to 7 people.

There is 1 reserved parking space for guests.

The kitchen is fully stocked with pots & pans, dishes, toaster, blender, Crockpot and more. There is a standard coffee maker. Coffee/tea and cream are provided. There is a washer and dryer (and detergent) if you need it for your personal use. Don't worry about washing the sheets and towels. That's my job :)

Enjoy the back deck that overlooks Main Street, central air conditioning, high-speed WiFi, board games, disco light, Bluetooth stereo and a streaming-ready/smart TV

There is a king bed in the master bedroom. The second bedroom upstairs is more of a loft setup and has 2 XL twin beds (no door and serves as access to the master bedroom). There is a twin bed (with an additional trundle) in the main floor bedroom and the living room has a sleeper sofa.

Bedding, towels, soap, shampoo/conditioner, hair dryer and an iron are also provided.

The Downtown House is a block off Main Street. It is very accessible to shops, and it is easy to get to HWY 20 and grocery stores, gas stations, and the very interesting Galena Center of the Arts. It offers a parking space which is helpful since many visitors are parking on the nearby streets. Our hostess, Lauren was wonderful. I highly reccommend this rental.

Great location for ski trip!

Cute, cozy, comfortable house with a great location. Stayed with my family for a few days to go skiing at Chestnut Mountain. Less than a block from several restaurants, which was much appreciated after a long day on the slopes. Would definitely stay again!

50th birthday get away

This was the perfect property for us. Once we arrived and parked the car we didn’t have to drive anywhere. We were able to walk Main Street and we were located just steps from several of our favorite restaurants and wineries. We enjoyed the fact there were enough beds for all of us and 2 bathrooms as well. The house was very well stocked and we enjoyed the extra blankets and pillows for movie night.

Great house, greater location

Perfect location in downtown Galena a short walk to shopping, restaurants and nightlife. The house was perfect for my family of 5 with a bed for everyone. We cooked Thanksgiving dinner in the well stocked kitchen and had no problem finding whatever utensil or pot/pan that we needed. The house was very clean and stocked with towels, soap, shampoo, etc... We will not hesitate to rent it again.

Perfect place for a getaway. Beautiful house so close to downtown.

For our second annual family lady’s trip to Galena we decided to stay at Lauren’s house. The house is beautiful and cozy with enough space to accommodate all seven of us and two babies. We were within walking distance of the downtown strip, I was shocked at how close we were. The house had a coffee pot, board games, and a tv we couldn’t have asked for anything more. Lauren was friendly, responsive, and left easy instructions and information for us. There was a cute back porch perfect for people watching and blowing bubbles. Parking was easy to find and being so close to everything none of us moved our cars the entire weekend because we didn’t have to. Everything about this place was great. I would 100% stay here again and I actually probably will.

Girls Trip Advenfure

We thoroughly enjoyed this house. Check in was easy and were offered a late check out due to the owners schedule, which we had not requested. How nice! The house is so very cute, well equipped, and we felt right at home. We couldn’t have asked for a better location as we were shopping and spending most of our time downtown. We were just a couple blocks from the main shopping h and dining areas. The bedroom layout worked well for us 4 girls, and we could have easily had a few more in our group. The two bathrooms are small but have all the updated amenities you would need. We highly recommmend this home and would reserve again. Oh, did I mention the disco ball!!! Thank you Lauren for putting together such a great place!

Comfortable and clean

Lauren’s home was very clean and nicely furnished. Air conditioning was set just right with fans in each room for more air flow which was helpful in the upstairs bedrooms. The kitchen was stocked well with appliances and utensils. Great location for heading down to the Main street in Galena. Lauren gave tips for parking and bypassing construction. We enjoyed our stay in this home!

This house was very nice for our girls’ weekend in Galena! Parking was easy and readily available and everything on Main Street was within walking distance. The house was well stocked with everything we needed and very clean too! The disco ball made our Saturday night even more fun! Thanks for a great stay!
