Host was more than patient and accomodating to this old woman! Every morning I woke up to a different view of the lake. Otters, deer swimming across the lake, different waterfowl, fish jumping, absolutely wonderful place.
We had an amazing time at the property. The house is beautiful and cozy and the lake is very serene. The beach is an easy walk down the road and the sunsets were amazing.
The host is very available and responsive. With the picture windows overlooking the lake - we had fun watching the squalls move across the water. The kingfisher was zipping around the cove. A very comfortablehouse for gray winter days. And then, a windless glassy lake was perfect for kayaking.
Our stay at Otter Cove was on of many, we are greatfull for David the property management always so helpful and love making family homememories at this
We stayed for our anniversary and enjoyed watching the lake from the beautiful bay windows. It has cozy old wood and makes for a very relaxing getaway.
Inside was just like listed online. Cozy cabin feel with remodeling in some areas. Outside needs maintenance will landscape, cleaning, etc... Location was peaceful.
I have stayed at this rental a few times now and it never disappoints. The views from the house are spectacular. The location is close to town but feels like it is away from it all. The beds are comfy. I highly recommend this place!
Second visit this year! See our review from Spring 2025 about this home-away-from-home. Private, convenient, quiet...who knew lakefront would be so much more relaxing than oceanfront. Use Google maps to locate the nearby beach, the easy Port Orford Heads hikes with fabulous views, and Ray's Market that sells many of the food items you'd find in the city. Our 4 star rating reflects only the age of this family home... you'll have a 5 star experience!
The yard wasn't very well maintained but overall, we enjoyed our stay. Very nice home would visit again. Did not get to see the otters. But still enjoyed our visit.
We had a nice cozy stay at the Otter Cove house. It was windy and rainy a few days but we enjoyed watching the lake and relaxing for our 5 night stay. I know my family would enjoy coming back sometime in the summer.
Beautiful, secluded location near beach and small town. Very spacious and comfortable. We had a great time. Only complaint is the pillows on the bed (too thin).
Wonderful location, quiet cove and beautiful views of the lake. We enjoyed the comfortable home that had plenty of space, even for the 7 of us. We would love to return and relax at Otter Cove in the near future.
This southern Oregon coastal gem of a property and the town of Port Orford and surrounds never fails to amaze and please. We shall return to this cottage again and again, and my sons look forward to bringing their family and friends here in the future.
This home was so lovely. It checked all the boxes of my desire for a stay in a cottage on a lake. It was quiet and serene, otters playing, herons doing flybys, deer swimming across the cove. The stars at night were gorgeous. The views though the bay windows were stunning. This house is fully supplied (kitchen, towels and linens). The beds comfy. We had an issue that was dealt with promptly. The property manager was great to work with. My husband and I hope to return every year.
