Cozy, charming, rustic, edge of forest. Walk to Morgan Bay, Conservation land hikes.Swim in small beach overlooking Acadia Mountains. Bike on small, rural, deadend road on the peninsula after eating at the local Lobster Shack, swimming in the little beach. Kayak in Morgan Bay.Visit art galleries. Come home to quiet country living after a visit to Acadia National Park a 40 minute drive.

Compost toilet 50 feet away. Refrigerator, hotplate, electric kettle in barn 50 feet away. Lovely outdoor hot shower.
Your own Fire-pit if I'm here and outside table and chairs.

Park across road. Morgan Bay Zendo lower lot. Walk out driveway, take LEFT. First Right. Do NOT park at Surry Music. You may be TOWED.
When leaving please put sheets in bathroom basket, sweep and leave clean for next guest.

Like someone else said, it is small but mighty! Perfect for someone wanting to explore the area and that wants to be in a rustic setting. Host is great and very accommodating. Had a great time.

We stayed here for three nights while hiking at Acadia. Great for a quick stop at night for showering and sleeping, but definitely rustic and no frills. Camping experience is probably useful for guests. Nancy was lovely and helpful. Grateful for a very hot shower!

A cozy stay in a rural setting. Nancy was so responsive and welcoming. For those willing to embrace the outdoor comforts of a composting toilet, outdoor shower, and minimalist cabin, it really was a lovely retreat. Would recommend the morning zen sessions in the meditation hall!

The tiny house was, indeed, tiny (but mighty!) We simply needed a place to crash in between day excursions to Acadia NP and it fit that bill perfectly! The provided space heater cut the chill from the room very quickly whenever we got back and prepped for sleep, and the fire pit outside was fun. Nancy was lovely to chat with, we would definitely stay again!

As 10th generation Maine, I returned home 17 years ago after traveling and raising a family in Cambridge, MA. My work and adult life has been devoted to studying, practicing, and teaching Mindfulness in colleges, hospitals, businesses and in my private practice.

Why they chose this property

This area is special. I came to study Zen across the road in a sweet, forest meditation center in the 70s and returned to the house that I dreamed of back then - close to the ocean, a lovely community, and an absolutely beautiful place to live with lots of outdoor adventures close by. The community is filled with writers and artists.

What makes this property unique

Rural, country Maine close to the ocean, meditation center, artists, writers, dark starry skies, good hikes, swimming, kayaking, and Acadia.
