What a wonderful little piece of heaven. The property sits on a cove off the lake and is so peaceful. Everything you could possibly need to be on the water is readily available. The hosts were very responsive and communicated proactively throughout the booking and stay. Will definitely stay again.

Property is very clean and location can’t be beat. Staying here is more akin to a bed and breakfast instead of a Vrbo (obviously no breakfast) as the owners are truly committed to making sure you have a great stay.

Perfect spot on Lake Lure to relax! The end of cove situation and available pontoon boat rental make this home stand out, as well as the truly easy access to the dock and boathouse from the house and the friendly hosts. We’d love to come back and stay again. Thank you!

Excellent waterfront property with gentle sloping path to boat/swim dock perfect for family members with mobility issues. Great communication with Jon regarding questions and last minute changes. Firm sandy bottom perfect for launching kayaks and playing fetch with dog. Easy dog bath and rinse on back patio with quiet neighborhood walk to drip dry before returning to home. Convenient shopping and restaurants eager and very appreciative of our visits.

Jon and Gail's place has an incredible view of the lake and mountains from the dock, and you just may also see osprey, eagles, heron and deer (as well as fish) while you are relaxing out there or using their canoe (we did). The house is very clean and has all you need for a great time with friends and family. We especially appreciated Jon texting with us to let us know about some local construction near the dam ( that did not impact our stay one bit) - just in case.

We had a great time and a wonderful stay here. The house and cove it sits in are great. The hosts are easy to contact and immediately helpful with anything you need. The neighbors were great too! Told us where the best restaurants on the lake are and where to watch holiday fireworks.

Had a fabulous time at Jon and Gail’s Lake House. So peaceful and such a serene picture perfect setting. Enjoyed sitting on the dock every morning having coffee…. And a cocktail every night watching the sun set over the mountains. Crystal clear water and pretty great fishing from dock. House was very roomy for the four of us (all adults). We had near perfect weather and Jon was great at recommending places to visit/hike. Communication with hosts was great. Very easy check in and check out process. Neighbors were also extremely friendly and offered local recommendations. We rented the boat for a day and thoroughly enjoyed the lake. October is the perfect time to visit Lake Lure as weather is mild and traffic is light. We loved staying on this side of the lake, just beware that the local bridge over the dam is closed Monday - Friday from 8:00 to 5:00 (Thru December 2026) so you will need to take the longer route to downtown Lake Lure/Chimney Rock. Also, a lot of roads are still closed due to storm damage… especially heading thru Chimney Rock to Black Mountain. Not a big deal for us and we got to see a lot of area we wouldn’t have seen. Can’t wait to visit WNC again!!!

We had a wonderful family stay at this lake house and really loved the location. The house sits level with the water, which made getting down to the lake and dock incredibly easy. It’s located in a quiet cove with a large dock, and renting a pontoon was simple and convenient. The house itself is very roomy, with a great open layout that gave our family plenty of space to gather, eat, and spend time together. There are a few areas that could make the house even better. Although it is listed as a four-bedroom home, the sleeping arrangements were not ideal for four private bedrooms. One of the bedrooms does not have a door, so there is very little privacy, and the basement sleeping area was not very comfortable or practical for sleeping. We also would have appreciated more lounging furniture for a house designed to accommodate a larger family or group. The yard and some areas of the property could also use a little more attention and upkeep.Overall, the location and waterfront setup are the biggest highlights. Being level with the lake, having such a large dock, and enjoying a peaceful cove made it a great place for our family to spend time together.

We had a wonderful time at Jon and Gail's home. Someone mentioned in another review that the pictures didn't do it justice and that is so very true. The house was easy to find but be warned, the driveway is very steep. The parking area at the bottom is flat and we had no trouble parking five vehicles. We were a group of three that grew to nine by the end of the week. It was great being steps away from the lake and we spent most of our days at the dock using the kayak and canoe that comes with the house. Although there are other houses nearby it still feels like your private oasis. The house was well stocked with everything you could need. Just bring your food. The beds were comfortable and the rooms spacious. Morning coffee for everyone was always on the deck to enjoy the lake views. We have stayed a few other times in Lake Lure and this has been our favorite house. The host are friendly, knowledgeable and very responsive. We are hoping to return again next year.

Peaceful Retreat

The house and property were just what we needed to unplug and reset. The views were beautiful from the dock. The Bellows’ were wonderful hosts and supplied plenty of games and SUP for guest use. Chimney Rock Village was close and a great place to walk around with good local restaurants. We would definitely stay here again.

Lake life is wonderful!

We enjoyed our week at this cozy home with great access to the lake. My elderly parents were able to walk to the lake every day enjoying the view from the dock. The deck upstairs was nice and shady on days when it was hot and sunny. We think our dogs enjoyed it the most chasing balls in the water!
