Affordable Luxury Oceanview 3/2 @ Hali'i Kai 8H-Family Friendly!

Who says "family friendly" can't have elegant style and fantastic amenities? Our quiet, ground floor unit (8H) has all of the features that you'd like, and a price point that makes it easy to stay longer... Just check our reviews! This has been our "escape from the mainland", and we look forward to sharing it with you!

The condo is decorated in quality island-style furniture, which is "family friendly" yet very comfortable. The master bedroom has a king size bed, 42" plasma TV, walk in closet, and separate tub and showers.

The first guest room has a queen size bed, and a 32" LCD TV with DVD player, while the second guest bedroom offers two twin beds, and another 32" LCD TV with DVD player.

There is a queen size sofa-bed in the living room, too! Our beautiful lanai has seating for 4, and the large grass area gives you a place to play with the kids or a quick game from the great selection of "yard toys" in the unit. As you'd expect, there are great ocean views from the master bedroom, living room, dining area and kitchen.

The living room has a 3 cushion sofa with hide-a-bed, and two large wicker chairs, a 55" LCD "Smart" TV, a Blu-ray player and a Bluetooth speaker, while the dining room has a glass dining table with seating for eight.

Want to cook? We have you covered with a full kitchen. Want to BBQ? A Weber grill awaits. Grab a dinner away or a drink at the bar? One of the best places on the island is the private Hali'i Kai restaurant and bar, located just several hundred yards from your door. The pool area is exceptional for the family, too! This private area also offers a great workout facility, plenty of seating, and a BBQ pit. For those of you who prefer the beach, we have provided beach towels, beach chairs, boogie boards and a couple umbrellas.

When we say "family friendly", we mean it! We have three young children ourselves, so the unit comes with a highchair, port-a-crib, and toys (please be sure the kids leave them behind).

Your stay here will be a memorable one, and many of our guests return year after year - just read the reviews, and you'll see why! Need suggestions on where to go and what to do? Just ask - we're here to make your stay as fun and exciting (or relaxing, your choice!) as possible.

We are "SCUBA diver friendly", with amenities to help our diver friends - if you want to get in the water, we have the knowledge and resources locally that can help! Also, whale watching and boat trip recommendations are just a click away for our guests - just ask!

There is a $25/day resort fee per condo which is paid directly to the resort at check in.

As per Hawaii House Bill 2078 Act 326 we have designated Tracy Gillard as our “Hawaii - Big Island” on island contact for our guests to contact in case the owners are not reachable. Please attempt to contact Doug Erickson “Owner” before calling Tracy if assistance is needed.

Douglas was prompt and responsive and I have never stayed at such a well equipped VRBO. Bikes, snorkel gear, coolers, literally everything you could need. While the sunset was lovely from the condo it was even lovelier at the Ocean Club! 5 stars. Great for families, too.

Hawaii Vacation

This condo is amazing and had everything we needed for a family of 6 - ages 17-81. The location was perfect. We enjoyed the patio and amazing ocean views every day and the sunsets too. The condo was very clean and one of the most well stocked we have stayed in. The kitchen had everything you would need too. Lots of beach towels and chairs for our beach days. When we return to the Big Island we will stay here again. Having access to the Ocean Club was an added bonus. The restaurant is very good and friendly staff.

My family of 6 spent a week here to celebrate our youngest’s graduation. Hali’i Kai was such a beautiful, lush property and the condo was more impressive than the pictures. It was quiet, included easy walking to pool, putting green and basketball court as well as a short drive to shops. Communication was top notch and the property was very well stocked. We are already talking about staying here when we come back.

Amazing vacation

My family loved everything about this condo! It was clean, in excellent condition and a great location. The layout is perfect for a family with young kids, since the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms are separate of the main living space. Great comfortable place to unwind and enjoy the beauty of Big Island. Well appointed for cooking cozy furniture great water pressure. Washer and dryer were fantastic. Best of all were the sunsets on The lanai. Stunning. We saw whales blowing and and relaxing. It was the perfect place to unwind and recharge. Can’t recommend this more highly. Loved the Weber grill. Awesome Condo in a beautiful community!

We've stayed in Hali Kai before and this 3 bedroom unit did not disappoint. Saying this condo is fully stocked is an understatement. Truly everything we needed was there, even the little touches like flashlights in every drawer in the bedrooms. Also Doug was very responsive when we did need to reach out, even though it was in the middle of the Super Bowl. 😏 Great hosts, and we would stay again without hesitation.

We were lucky enough to book this property as our vacation plans had to change at the last minute. The condo is absolutely beautiful, well stocked and in a great location. We felt like we could have moved right in! The neighborhood pool is beautiful and clean. The backyard is right off the golf course with an ocean view during the day. The night sky in the backyard is magnificent. Owners are great communicators as well - lots of written instructions provided and quick texters as well. Thank you for a great stay!

Stayed for 8 nights in Jan 2015 and had an incredible time. Condo is a very comfortable home away from home. Well stocked with many extras to make vacation even more relaxing. There is starter supplies of shampoo/conditioner, toilet paper, soaps, laundry detergent, etc. that is very helpful so you don't have to bring everything with you. Plenty of towels to use. Kids really enjoyed using the boogie boards and even played basketball several times. The pool and dining were incredible and staff very friendly and always giving tips on places to visit and best beaches. Doug, the owner, very easy to work with. Would definitely stay again!

Halii Kai at Waikoloa

This is an excellent property on the Big Island. The condo is in a beautiful, quiet community and offers everything needed for a great visit to the sunny north Kona coast. There are tennis courts, pool, fitness center, and a restaurant in this gated community. The condo is well equipped to prepare your own meals if you choose, and has every appliance, including a gas grill, that you’ll need. The property offers everything we needed to enjoy the island including bicycles, snorkeling gear, tennis equipment, and beach chairs/umbrellas. We had a great visit and the condo/community was perfect for our family vacation. There’s no better way to start the day than by watching whales from the lanai with morning coffee!

We are a young family who likes to travel. We have 3 young children (1 boy, 2 girls) and 2 female dogs (Daddy is out numbered!). We live in Northern California, and our goal is to provide our guests with the same vacation experience that we expect and enjoy.

Why they chose this property

We have enjoyed visiting the 'Big Island' since our honeymoon in 2000., and enjoy the hospitality and quiet nature of the Big Island. We used to stay at a very famous resort until a few years ago when they tried to charge us $50/night per fold up bed when we were on a (Family Package). After that we decide we wanted to continue to visit Hawaii, but wanted to personalize our experience with the level of luxury and convenience, which is our goal with our properties.

What makes this property unique

Families with young children will enjoy the ease of not having to pack and travel with items such as port-a-cribs, beach towels, games, toys and other youth items. All of our guests will enjoy brand new furniture, TV's, kitchen items, and beds. We do not buy garage sale items like some owners. We have a lot of return guests, and we hope every guest visits us again! We also offer 15% OFF future stays at all 3 of our vacation properties (South Lake Tahoe, California, Ka'anapali Beach, Maui & this rental in Waikoloa Beach Resort on the Kohala Coast of the Big Island of Hawaii)
