The Retreat was the perfect property for our family reunion and accommodated our group of 28 comfortably. The elevation provided for amazing views and all of the amenities kept the kids occupied and entertained. The location in Island Park was convenient for trips into West Yellowstone, Yellowstone, Big Springs and Sawtelle! Thanks to the owners for opening their property for other people to enjoy!
Family trip with our daughters, husbands and grandchildren . Cabin is beautiful and spacious and supplied with everything we needed. The pool table and hot tub were a real hit!! Close to West Yellowstone and some fun water activities. I would definitely recommend this property. We loved it!!!
No picture illusions here. What you see is what you get. This is a beautiful, clean property a half hour from Yellowstone. Very nice, secluded neighborhood and market nearby. Lots of recreation stuff to do in area other than just national park. A great place to stay.
Great location and accomodation. My father inlaws mothers family has been comming to island park for opening day of fishing since 1927. This cabin was just perfect for our family.
Overall the house was great for our group. We went to Yellowstone every day, a half hour drive. It was a good location. Our first morning there were some mule deer in the woods out back. The kids love their bunkbed rooms, and the adults were comfortable in their rooms. The kitchen was great for our big group. We had a few issues with the dryers not working properly, which is a problem when there are 27 people needing to do laundry, but they got fixed a few days in. All in all a great house for a crowd!
The house was perfect for our family vacation to Yellowstone. It has a well stocked kitchen to make just about anything you want and plenty of seating for meals and games. The house is spacious with 3 levels so there was lots of room for the 14 of us to chill out after a long day in the park!
The property was perfect for our stay. We had almost 30 family getting together for a week at Yellowstone. The house had plenty of room and never really felt crowded, with several different spaces for people to gather or go off on their own. The house was well-supplied and made for a nice place to come home and relax after spending the day visiting Yellowstone.
Enjoyed the stay very much. The house provided us with a place to rest each day after touring Yellowstone and Jackson Hole. It also gave us a place to cook a meal when we wanted. It also gave each one us (4 families) a place to relax as a family each night. Everything was great and I definitely would recommend the place for other people.
Beautiful house with awesome scenery. well equipped.
Perfect location to enjoy Yellowstone, Grand Teton, all sights in the area. Only problem we had was problem with television in living area room area (Fireplace television). Other than that all was perfect. Family totally enjoyed stay.
Thank you to owners renting a their home.
The property was great! It fit our family well and was clean and comfortable! We loved being able to cook our meals and wash our clothes and gather as a family in such a nice home while we also enjoyed Yellowstone and Henry’s fork of the snake river. When I had questions about the property or the surrounding area Ryan was great at getting back to me and answered all of my questions. Very positive experience!

Thank you Adrienne, we are glad you enjoyed the home and the surrounding area. It is a beautiful place :)
The house was great for our large group. Came to the area for snow mobiling...We really enjoyed the main floor living area. Plenty of room for everyone from enjoying the living area, to cooking in the spacious welk equipped kitchen and dining area had plenty of seating. Had difficulty with the fireplace and the hot tub at first, but Ryan was very quick to make it right....Absolutely beautiful views from every window. Would recommend this property.
This property is better in real life than the photos show! Our family spent a week with 20 adults and 2 teens. Everyone loved it. It has all the amenities as advertised and some extra nice touches we did not expect.
This property is within 30 minutes to Yellowstone west gate. We spent 3 full days in Yellowstone and one day in Grand Teton NPs and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Communication with Ryan was great and he was responsive to help fix some minor problems we encountered during our stay.
We will definitely come back if in the area.
We throughly enjoyed our stay here. The only hiccup was the previous guests had made the hot tub so dirty. BUT! The cleaning staff had already reported it and it was cleaned up sparkly new. Bunk beds are really made for kids and teens but my adult children survived and now they love to laugh about it.
Gorgeous area. Perfect weather. Great reunion.
The home and property is gorgeous and easy to get to off the main highway. The home was very clean and just like the pictures online. The only issue we had was not being able to enjoy the fireplace. We could not figure out how to get it working and I emailed the property manager twice but never got a response back. The home is about an hour drive from the major cities like Jackson hole or Bozeman. Our family really enjoyed the home.

Great guests! We are sorry they could not enjoy the fireplace, it should be in working conditions. For some reason we did not get the emails so we could try to help them turn it on. We are glad they enjoyed their stay otherwise.
We thoroughly enjoyed the open space and furnishings of this house. With 10 adults and 3 kids (5 years old and younger) we found plenty of room to have fun together and retreat to our own privacy. The house has several places to stage your stuff for a quick wake up and exit to whatever adventure you have planned for the day. We spent one week at the house and traveled to Yellowstone NP everyday. The travel time was just right and kept us outside the busy/touristy town of West Yellowstone. Everything you need is at the house (cutlery, appliances, linens, towels, plates and pans, etc.) and there is a well stocked grocery store less than a mile away. Overall, this is a great place for a large party.
The view from the back deck is beautiful on its own but breathtaking at sunset. This is our second time staying at this property, and it was just as good as the first time we visited. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. The host is very responsive, and the property was well stocked with cooking utensils suitable for a large family. Plenty of room for all ages, and we got a surprise visit from the three local deer almost every day. Waking up to them hanging out by the fire fit was pretty neat. Our family safely observed from the deck, of course. We received a discount from high mountain adventures and took full advantage of the trails up the mountain. The view from the top of the mountain is a must-see! Yellow Stone was also fantastic, and the West Yellowstone Entrance has less traffic which is a significant plus.

Disliked: Communication
Seems Sketchy...
We had a nice stay in the house other than it took about 10 communications to figure out the TV system and that one of the TVs wasn't working. But the issues started once we left. We were contact by the owner asking about a part of the vacuum, we had used the vacuum right before we left and it was in perfect working order. The we got a claim on our travelers insurance for a $500 vacuum and a $25 bowl that was supposedly broken. Neither of these things did we do, seems like he is just trying to get money out of the insurance companies. His property was nice but communication was difficult and the TV was a huge issue since we were there over Super Bowl weekend.

Thank you Katie for the review. The TV did have a bent HDMI cord that was causing that tv to not work. It has been replaced.
In regards to the claims we made on the insurance, the cleaner does use the vacuum after every group and it had parts when she used it before and it didn't when you left. I'm sure it wasn't on purpose, but important parts were missing and we needed a working vacuum for the home. That was the cost of the vacuum and the bowl. I'm not sure how that's sketchy on our part, but I get that if you think you didn't break it then you shouldn't have to pay for it.
I know it's hard with large groups to keep track of everyone and occasionally things break that the person that booked is not aware of.
This house nicely served the purpose for our family reunion with 28 people. Location was super. Check-in and check-out went well. We would probably consider this house again at another time.
A few problems we encountered that could be corrected: the upper fan by the front door didn’t work. The remote control for the fireplace was inoperable because battery connections were broken. The lining for freezer in the kitchen was loose which made closing it difficult. Handles on the griddles were broken although it worked fine. Cleanliness was ok but not pristine. We tried to leave it cleaner than we found it. We didn’t think much of the “hi-speed internet”. It was very slow, even when only one person connected. Our son-in-law had to work one day while the rest of us were away playing and he had difficulties because it was so slow. Don’t advertise it as hi-speed.

Thanks Kent for the review. We always appreciate thorough reviews as it helps us know what's going on at the home and what needs our attention. I'm glad you had a great reunion and would welcome you back anytime, you were great guests!
For future guests reading this, the things he mentioned have been fixed. In regards to the internet, as is often the case, occasionally the router just needs to be restarted. After doing this, the light went from red to green and we then did a speedtest and it came in at 74 megs. It is high speed internet. If you do ever have problems with the internet or really anything else please let us know, sometimes the solution is quite easy and it will make your stay that much more enjoyable.
Let me start out by staying the place is unbelievable and location it is great for snowmobiling which we did. Inside was huge many rooms and beds for large party fully stocked kitchen and hot tub huge plus. Here is my complaints upon checking in my group notices the house was somewhat cleaned the previous group that must have stayed there seemed to have some type of party as there where left over balloons taped to the walls party decorations strung about trash can overflowing in garage water bottles behind bed. Also the pool table was covered in food and what look liked stains. Broken pool stick that was put back in rack to appear intact and list goes on . Fire place was broken but where able to get it working due to some of the guests knowledge on gas fireplaces. Large crack in master bedroom window as well. I alerted the Owner on condition of the house and he greatly appreciated the heads up. The group contained my friends I grew up with all males between ages 35-50 and 90% being law enforcement officers. Upon checkout I was alerted by email that the insurance I had taken out for any damage was being utilized for nail polish in master bedroom ( all males staying) a missing Xbox controller & scratches on a mirror. I was shocked to find the Owner to accuse us of the damage even with the contact I had with him previously as the house not being in the best shape. Again location house are great but be careful with the condition of the house when you check in take multiple photos to cover your butt. Owner obviously has more faith in a cleaning company’s word that couldn’t perform there job correctly before our stay.
We had 26 people , the youngest being 15. The home was extremely roomy and accommodating for that big of a crowd. Lots of bathrooms. Hot tub was a hit! Big kitchen was great fixing Thanksgiving dinner. Downstairs family room was used alot.
Our family of 11 (6 adults, 5 kids) spent a week at this beautiful home, celebrating 2 landmark birthdays. The view of the valley & mountains from the living room, kitchen, and back deck is amazing! Proximity to Yellowstone is a definite plus, making early morning wildlife watching adventures possible. Everyone had plenty of room to stretch out and have their own space. We visited in July and having air conditioning available was great - many homes we looked at did not have air conditioning. We marked cleanliness down a bit because a few things in the home are starting to show a little wear and could use some extra attention - showers in bunk rooms and basement shared bathroom especially. Overall beautiful home & a wonderful stay!
