About this property
Mountain Home Paradise Fish, Hike, ATV or Relax, Great for Large families
Enjoy your own private mountain top with breathtaking views of the South Platte river valley. Adjacent to Pike National forest our 4 bedroom 3 bath cabin is the perfect quiet getaway for large families or multiple couples. Our cabin is located in the gate guarded community of Sportsmens Paradise with a year round caretaker. Freshly remodeled throughout it is ready to entertain or just sit back and relax. Owners live directly next door and will be happy to answer any questions and make your stay as pleasant as possible. Master Bedroom features it’s own fireplace and bathroom with two sinks and shower and a co-located laundry room. Two additional bedrooms are located upstairs with a shared bathroom. Main floor features a beautiful open floor plan with kitchen, dining and great room with fireplace. There is also a bedroom and bath located on the main level which is perfect for Grand parents or less mobile guests. The main floor bathroom features a double sink and tub/shower combination. The kitchen is equipped with a large refrigerator/freezer perfect for longer stays. There is a dishwasher, propane fired cooktop and electric oven. A blender and toaster are also available for use. An outside BBQ is ready to cook your favorite meats while enjoying the beautiful views. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, utensils, pots&pans, casserole dishes, basic condiments. There is a Keurig coffee maker as well and an additional coffee maker for your favorite grinds and an electric tea kettle. All bathrooms have towels, hand towels, soap, toilet paper. Laundry has detergent and dryer sheets. Bedding is all included and there are extra pillows and blankets. High speed internet is included through Starlink and it is fast! There is limited cell coverage depending on carrier but wi-fi calling is excellent. Smart TV with DVD player is provided with a large selection of DVDs at the caretaker office.
Hiking: Miles of private roads within Sportmens Paradise or venture off into the National Forest right out the back door. Other National Forest trails are within the surrounding area including the South Platte river trail into scenic Wildcat canyon.
Fishing: Fishing within Sportsmens Paradise is restricted to members and their designated guests. Renters are strictly prohibited from fishing all SP waters including river and ponds. HOWEVER, there is ample public fishing within a few hundred yards of the cabin and access into the public Wildcat canyon area of the South Platte. Fishing for trophy Browns and Rainbows is just a few hundred yards away. Eleven Mile Canyon and the Dream Stream are also minutes from the property and if lake fishing is your pleasure try Eleven Mile Reservoir, Spinney, Antero or Tarryall. Some of the best fishing in the state is just footsteps from our Sportsmens Paradise property.
ATV/4x4: If wheeling is your favorite activity look no further. ATV or Jeep right from our cabin into the Pike National forest with access to many miles of trails throughout the area. Challenge yourself in Hackett Gulch or China Wall all a short distance away. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit while on the private SP road system but once in the National forest speed is your discretion. It is 1/4 mile to the National Forest on an ATV. Be safe as many of the trails can be very challenging to the intermediate/novice rider.
Hunting: There is no Hunting within the SP property boundaries but this cabin is adjacent to the Pike National Forest and in an excellent location to use as a base camp with access into some hard to reach areas. Elk, Deer, Bear, Moose, Mountain lion, bobcat, fox, turkey all frequent the area.
Rockhounding: The local area is full of Smoky Quartz crystals in all shapes and sizes. Amazonite is regularly found as well. Arrowheads and scrapers have also been found with regularity.
Relax: If you just want peace and quiet this is your personal heaven. Sit on either the master bedroom deck or the main floor deck and enjoy the great mountain air. There is plenty of outdoor furniture to sit and have a meal or snack outdoors. Enjoy your favorite book or listen to the deafening silence. Birds abound in the area including many raptors. Bald Eagle, Osprey, Golden Eagle all “fish” the SP waters for their daily meal and we have Great Blue Heron and many hundreds of song birds which call our valley home.
Nearby atrractions:
Florrisant Fossil Beds National Monument is 10 minutes away or enjoy chipping for your own fossils at the local business located just outside the park. Cripple Creek is 40 minutes away if gambling suits your fancy or take in an old time melodrama at the Butte Theatre. Mueller State Park is about 20 minutes away. Enjoy hiking, wildlife and the gorgeous scenery. There are several local eateries that have good “home” cooking food should you want to take a break from cooking.
House swapping into warm weather climates over our winters will be considered.

Why they chose this property
This location is a Sportmens Paradise. There is so much to do! Fishing, Hiking, rockhounding, ATVing, Fourwheeling, hunting, tubing, kayaking, all right out your back door. No need to travel any further for your outdoor activity. Our guests consistently want to stay longer after seeing our well appointed cabin in person.
What makes this property unique
Everything is fresh and brand new. We completely remodeled our cabin last year inside and outside with no expense spared. Lots and lots of small details. High chair and pack in play are available for toddlers. Baths have extra soap, shampoo, and if you forget your razor or toothbrush those are available as well. The kitchen has everything you would need to cook your favorite meal including a crockpot, blender, toaster, coffee maker and a beverage station with coffee and hot chocolate that is provided along with all condiments. If you happen to forget any ingredient for your favorite recipe do not worry as we will graciously give you what we have in our personal pantry.
