Reserve this adorable stone cottage with everything you will need to enjoy a quaint visit to Deep Creek Lake! Feel right at home at Water in the Sky! A wooden door opens to the cozy interior that is truly an original cottage to our area. Spend your time outdoors enjoying all the amenities this wonderful cottage offers. Venture outside to find a spacious gently sloping yard and a whimsical path to the water’s edge. This home offers a dock slip and lake front area. Roast marshmallows around the stone firepit, and use the grill to enjoy lunch around the picnic table. If you’re up for a challenge, try your hand at horseshoes or find the face in the tree trunk! Step into Water in the Sky and Find a Slower Pace at Deep Creek Lake!

The house was very clean! All of the appliances and kitchen needs were top notch. The hot tub was drained and cleaned prior to our arrival, it was too cold to use that day. We enjoyed it the following. It was wonderful being able to have our dogs!!!All in all it was a fantastic stay and we Would definitely stay there again.

My husband and I stayed here with our small dog for a few days over Thanksgiving. It was wonderful! The kitchen had everything we needed to make a big meal, the living room was cozy with the fireplace on and the bathroom and bedroom were clean and comfortable. We really had no complaints and would absolutely visit again during the warmer months.

This Lake Forest property is rustic and cozy. The Lake Views and Sunsets are spectacular. The house has good amenities and we had a great time. Railey's staff was professional, courteous, and provided great service. Thank you.

Fun time

We really enjoyed the location of the property. We had our own private access to the lake. Sun room was nice with a little heater, we had coffee and breakfast there in the morning. We got an email a couple days before our trip that the hot tub was broken, but they were awesome and fixed it quickly so we could use it on our trip! Cabin was very clean and stocked with all the kitchen appliances and amenities needed! Hope we will be staying there again next year!

Cute Cottage

This cute cottage had a great view of the lake. The sun porch was a great amenity as the rain brought out the mosquitos. My partner and I felt that the property was private enough. The only negative was that the hot tub was not very clean despite it being serviced 4 days before our stay.

Property was well maintained. Pictures were spot on. Clean, well equipped and hot tub was clean and ready but hose was left running from cleaning the hot tub which left puddles and slightly muddy condition. There was no charcoal grill as advertised and propane grill was on premises but no propane tank attached

Terrific Off-Season Gem!

Water in the Sky is a cozy and eclectic gem of a cottage! We spent 3 days here in early April during an unexpectedly warm early spring getaway. The cabin was clean and well stocked and has lots of charm. It is located on a quiet arm of Deep Creek Lake, even more enjoyable because of the solitude and serenity of the early spring. We enjoyed the waterfront seating (dock wasn’t in yet, but it didn’t bother us), the fire circle, the view of the dark skies from the hot tub and time spent on the enclosed porch when it was a bit chilly. The king bed was really comfortable and we had everything we needed in the kitchen. The updated bathroom was great too. This was a perfect place for a couple’s getaway, with Swallow Falls and plenty of other hiking locations nearby. We will come back when the water is warmer and enjoy kayaking and fishing.

Older property, needs some TLC.

We enjoyed the property, but did wish it had been better cleaned. Areas under the bunk beds (anywhere away from high traffic) looked like it had not been cleaned for a long time. Also, when it rains, the bedroom smells very musty. Beautiful view, but just know to expect a rustic cabin.

The one thing to remember when renting out a pet friendly house is, you must be able to control the humidity inside the house. The humidity tends to bring out odor and the sheets and bed spreads smelled like they haven't been washed . I'm sure they were but it's the only issue we had . We will come again

Feet From the Water Yet Pleasantly Secluded

Overall Water in The Sky is a MUST STAY!! My wife and our puppy spent an amazing long weekend here enjoying the private dock, hot tub, comfortable rear deck onlooking the yard and lakefront, and cozy cabin-like stay here. Our mornings were spent exploring the local attractions including Swallow Falls State Park and Wisp Resort--a must visit to ride the Mountain Coaster!! By noon we were laying out on the dock, jumping into the crystal clear water and floating aimlessly in our tubes! The BBQ grill made it simple to cook up a few hamburgers, hot dogs etc. without having to worry about where to eat lunch or a mid-afternoon snack. In the vicinity you can find JGs Pub--a 5 minute drive located right as you get to Garrett Highway. If you stop by ask for Lisa and try out the Zucchini Spears, they're a must have!! Further down the road you'll find Trader's Coffee which overlooks the lake across the street, as well as kayak/boat/jet ski rentals next door. Overall my wife and I were very pleased with our stay and the atmosphere of Deep Creek Lake. We will visit again!!

Dock is great to just sit and float on view from with many ways to moor your boat, PWCs, kayak, etc. That is were we spent most of our time besides on the water. The semi- circular driveway is nice so you don’t have to back out on a narrow gravel road. It is in a private community so most of the time the surrounding neighbors were quite with little traffic. Some minor fixes would be new floors, back porch door, rotting steps to dock, etc. Also wish the boat ramp was closer. Overall would stay here again.

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was a charming place to stay near the water. Small but decent for two people and a dog. The biggest drawback was that the water flowed yellowish brown from the tap for a day (it cleared up mostly in day two). I wrote Deep Creek Lodging Company an email immediately and after our stay but received no response.

Reviewer Comments: If you want an inexpensive visit to a nice area of the lake with a dock, fire pit and tall trees giving privacy you can't beat this one bedroom cottage. We rented "Water in The Sky" as a second property for additional guests and a place to park a boat and jet skis for the week. It fulfilled our needs and we would rent it again.
