Authentic Pyrenean sheepfold renovated with respect for local heritage and equipped with every comfort. Quiet, at 1050 m above sea level surrounded by a beautiful private park of 1ha. An exceptional view of the mountain facing the peak of the south. Large interior space (130m2). Accessible by car from municipal road cleared in winter. Private parking for 3 cars. Ideally located for skiing, hiking and spa treatments just down the road. The sheepfold is ideal for disconnecting and enjoying the surrounding nature, with friends or family. The interior comfort and the equipment allows good moments of conviviality.

Charming and peaceful.

Lovely family chalet, perfect for walks and relaxation. Fully equipped except for towels and wifi about which we were pre warned. Very comfortable and it will be a highlight of our trip to France from Australia. We only wished we had brought the whole family.. Thankyou Sophie

Unique/stunning location, but a few suggestions

Overall we (American family) had a phenomenal time in Luz. And the sheep barn is indeed a special place. Pros: Sophie was a good host to book with (even with the language issues we presented, and accommodating a late arrival). Phenomenal view. Cool to stay in a sheep barn. The kids loved the donkeys in the backyard. The interior has been restored beautifully. There was a cool hiking/biking trail access right at the house. It was very, very quiet and peaceful at night. The kitchen worked great. Just a thrilling place to stay for those reasons. And Luz has so much to offer. On the neutral (things to know): the hike/bike trail is in high use during the day, so despite the remote location, people are regularly wandering/biking right by. It is a solid 10-15 minute winding road up to the location, which is part of the adventure, but it isn't easy to just go grab something from town; your days take a little planning. You have to get your own TP, paper towels, coffee, etc. Would have been nice to have those basics stocked with at least enough to cover the first few days, particularly given the drive back to town, so that we didn't have to go the store first thing. The washer/dryer works, but is small, so laundry can't be done fast (we found the same all over France/Spain). On the "suggestions/caveats" side: there is actually a neighboring house about 30 feet away, partially blocking the view; the pictures of the property crop that out (the neighbor wasn't a bother at all, but it was unexpected based on the marketing of the place). Also, there was some guy who actually came into the gate and yard (I think to feed the donkeys) early each morning and it was just unexpected, with the apparent remoteness and privacy, to have a guy just walk by the windows while we were in our PJ's. Finally, some aspects of our American version of comfortable and clean wasn't met by this place. When we arrived there were quite a few cobwebs (perhaps we were the first of the season?), and the sheets were thin, one had a stain, there were no top sheets, and we had to pay 15E extra for what turned out to be some pretty skimpy bath towels; there weren't any hand towels at all for the kitchen and downstairs bath. Just a bit disappointing on those fronts, but maybe partially a cultural thing. Overall, actually a unique and highly recommended place provided you are aware of the caveats (and again Luz is simply a magical place to visit).

Un coin de paradis

Nichée dans son écrin de verdure, à flanc de montagne, avec pour toile de fond la basse vallée du Bastan et ses sommets vertigineux, cette magnifique bergerie nous a offert de merveilleux moments en famille. Amis cyclistes, vous serez aux pieds des cols les plus mythiques des Pyrénées (Tourmalet, Luz-Ardiden, Hautacam, Soulor, Aubisque, etc.). Nul besoin de vous lester d'un 2nd bidon, la montagne etanchera votre soif de ses milles sources d'eau fraîche et pure. Vous serez subjugués, comme nous l'avons été, par les produits du terroir, qui régaleront vos papilles autant qu'ils éveilleront vos sens. Un coin de paradis ou nous reviendrons très vite.

Très beau cadre

Belle rénovation dans un très bel environnement. Plusieurs départs de randonnées sur place, vue sur le pic du midi, pas de voisins, nature très riche! Les Pyrénées sont belles et nous avons pu pleinement en profiter

Maison parfaite, en famille en pleine nature pour profiter des Pyrénées

2 semaines en été à crapaüter dans les Pyrénées avec cette maison familiale comme camps de base. Spacieuse avec un extérieur agréable. En pleine nature (au bout du bout de la route 😊), il ne faut pas oublier le journal en revenant de Luz ! Nous recommandons aux amoureux de la nature.

Idyllique

Un séjour parfait, entre montagne pyrénéenne et vallées historiques. Luz-saint-Saveur est à 10 minutes en voiture...et les sentiers de randonnée partent de la maison même. Sophie a été une hôte plus qu'irréprochable, tout a été vraiment joyeux et agréable, bref, nous conseillons sans l'ombre d'un doute, et très fortement!

En pleine nature

Un grand chalet rustique tout en haut de la montagne. Les amoureux de la nature ne peuvent pas rêver mieux : les montagnes sont visibles à 180°. Le chalet est en plein sur deux chemins de grande randonnée, donc on peut partir sac sur le dos en ballade directement du chalet. Et quel silence ! On a dormi comme jamais :) La nuit, la pollution lumineuse inexistante offre un ciel étoilé époustouflant. On est à 1km à vol d'oiseau de Luz St Sauveur, mais il faut emprunter pour monter et descendre un chemin (bitumé) en lacets d'une dizaine de minutes. Le prix de la tranquillité ! A l'intérieur c'est très bien équipé, tout fonctionne bien. Le rez de chaussée est très fonctionnel, avec une cuisine ouverte sur un grand salon, où le canapé et la cheminée invitent à jouer ensemble. Les chambres sont spacieuses pour les grands et la chambre d'enfants est cosie, nos petits étaient ravis tous les quatre dans les lits superposés. Bref on n'avait pas envie de redescendre !

Formidable

Le gîte est très agréable et très bien équipé que ce soit pour faire la cuisine ou passer des soirée de jeux près de la cheminée. En passant la porte on se sent tout de suite chez soi. L'atmosphère est apaisante et l'endroit est très calme. Idéalement situé pour faire des randonnées, les amateurs de grands espaces seront ravis. La propriétaire nous a accueillis de manière très agréable. Elle est ouverte et de bon conseil. Le départ c'est fait dans les mêmes conditions. Nous y retournerons sans hésiter.

Un lieu magique

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cette bergerie "perdue" dans la montagne et que nous avons eu la chance de voir sous la neige. Le logement est propre, parfaitement équipé, tout confort et très chaleureux. La seconde salle de bain/WC est un vrai plus. La baignoire de la première SDB est top pour les bébés. Les literies sont très bien aussi. Sa situation géographique permet une vrai déconnexion tout en restant à proximité de 3 super domaines skiables. Il y a également plein de petites balades a faire autour. Nous avons vraiment passé un très bon séjour en famille. C'est un lieu à retenir qui donne envie d'avoir son cocon à la montagne ! Merci !

Pour les amoureux de la tranquilité et de la nature

Un lieu à l'écart des foules en communion avec la nature au pied du GR. batisse restaurée avec gout et un bon équilibre entre authenticité et modernité. Propriétaire attentif et délicat. Pièce de vie difficile à chauffer, heureusement la cheminée fonctionne bien ! RAS sur les autres équipements, tout y est, et de nombreux guides et cartes laissés à disposition pour sillonner la région.

Un lieu parfait pour se retrouver en famille en pleine nature

Nous avons passés une excellente de semaine dans ce lieu retiré de l'agitation du monde. Vue exceptionnelle sur les massifs alentours et sur le village de Luz Saint Sauveur ; un gîte meublé avec goût, lui donnant une ambiance très chaleureuse. Nous avons adoré et y retournerons !

Nous avons été agréablement surpris par la région ainsi que par cette maison de rêve. Lieu pour se ressourcer et décompresser. Des centaines de balades à faire. Une belle rencontre avec Sophie, la propriétaire, qui est à l'écoute, disponible et d'une très grande gentillesse. Nous espérons vite pouvoir revenir et apprécier à nouveau cet lieu que nous avons trouvé magique. Chalet parfait pour Noel

Superbe chalet avec en particulier une très grande pièce de vie avec canapé et la cheminée qui rend très agréable ces périodes d'hiver. Nous avons tout particulièrement apprécié la vue extraordinaire sur les montagnes dont le pic du midi) et la localisation (isolée mais pas si loin du village). Plusieurs chemins de balades sont d'ailleurs accessibles à pied depuis le chalet. Bref, excellente location en hiver, à découvrir aussi on imagine en mode estival !
