It is a spacious (approximately 2,400 sq ft) and private 2 bedroom apartment with patio. Each bedroom has an extra-long California King bed. There are 3 single beds in the living areas and 1 single bed in the larger bedroom. With advance request, 2 single beds can be made up as an additional king-size bed. The remaining single beds can also be made up as a king for a total of 4 king size beds. All bedding is provided by hosts.

The apartment is open and spacious and on a single level. Doorways are wide enough to allow easy access for anyone in a wheelchair or who has mobility issues. There is ample clearance around furniture and in both bathrooms. A toilet safety rail can be in place before the guest arrives, upon advanced request. The larger bathroom has a walk-in shower. The threshold to the shower is approximately 4" above the floor. The bathroom washbowls are NOT ADA.

The private patio has a gas grill that is for guests only and a table with 6 chairs. There is also a small patio table with 4 chairs that serves as the smoking lounge or a great place to have a cup of coffee in the morning as you watch the sun rise or a cool drink in the afternoon as you take in the view and unwind from a day of touring.

The apartment has Wi-Fi and the password is on a card in the apartment. Internet connection is cable (X-Finity) and our subscriptions to FuboTV provide for live television and Prime Video for movies. The TV is a Smart TV. Instructions for using the DVD player are on the coffee table.
There is a green binder on the bar with information on tours (with prices), house rules, check-out instructions, local restaurants, grocery stores and other attractions in the area.

We provide at no extra charge, dry cereal, bottled water, tea, coffee (K-cups), hot chocolate mix, and popcorn. There is a Keurig for coffee, plus a 4-slice toaster, 2-unit induction cooktop, tea kettle, espresso pot, dishes, silver, pots and pans, a full-size refrigerator, blender and a microwave. There is no oven.

The main bathroom is stocked with shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, shower soap and hand cream. Extra bath towels are in the vanity in the half bath and extra toilet paper is under the sink. The half bath has hand towels and extra toilet paper. The hair dryer is the vanity in the half bath. Iron and ironing board are in the storage closet.

Unlock or lock the apartment from the patio by entering a code on the keypad lock. Each guest is given a new code. No codes are used twice. The guest will receive the entry code by message about a week before they arrive. It does not matter how late a guest arrives. The entire apartment and patio area up to the deck stairs are for the guests only.

This property is beautiful! It is meticulously clean and has so many personal touches to make you feel at home. Plenty of extra blankets, towels, toiletries and snacks that make it so easy to stay here. It is spacious, private and quiet. The location is perfect, being so close to the Battlefield and the Eisenhower place, as well as grocery, restaurants, ice cream etc. and Gettysburg College. Coming back to the house at the end of a long day to soak in the surrounding beauty of fields and flowers is such a huge plus!! Watch a sunrise from the patio and enjoy a walk at sunset... this place is truly relaxing! One downside for me was no washer/dryer. Being a party of 6, I did hit the laundromat a few times but North Gettysburg Laundry is open 24/7 and so clean and reasonably priced. The bar size sink in the kitchen area and no full-size oven was a bit of a challenge but only because there were 6 of us and I was trying to save money by eating in. The hosts Don and Nora were so friendly and accommodating and our experience here was loved by all. We hope to come back as the area offers so much in history and beauty that it is hard to leave. We will definitely be recommending this property to family and friends! Thank you Don and Nora!!

We felt pampered!
This property is meticulous, inside and out. It is easily convenient to the battlefield and downtown. The views are spectacular, and once inside the house, we felt like cherished guests. The house was lavishly stocked with linens, bathroom supplies, and kitchen needs. Additionally, Don and Nora provided a wide selection of cereal, coffee pods and teas. They greeted us soon after we arrived, and invited us to let them know if we needed anything. We are delighted to have stayed at this house.

Beautiful Home in Gettysburg
We visited Gettysburg for the first time and stayed in this beautiful home. Don and Nora were wonderful hosts. The house was immaculate and they even left muffins, things for breakfast even granola bars that we took with us on our daily sightseeing. Couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to stay. Thank you Don and Nora! Phil and Celene Healy-

Absolutely beautiful
This property was perfect for our stay - it literally felt like a home away from home. The apartment (the lower level of a large ranch-style home) is huge - large bedrooms, large living rooms (including one with a pool table), large bathrooms - worlds away from staying in a hotel. It was spotless and well appointed - plenty of extra towels, blankets, dishes, etc. The "kitchen" is really a converted bar, so no oven, but it did have a full size refrigerator, stovetop, microwave, toaster, dishwasher, etc. - definitely more than adequate for our needs. The location is excellent. It is only about 5-10 minutes to Gettysburg (depending on where you're going - downtown, to the battlefield, etc.). The patio opens onto a large field that slopes down to a far distant tree line (great place for a morning coffee while watching the hummingbirds.) The neighboring houses are similarly situated, giving it a nice, spacious, rural effect without feeling isolated. Nora is very gracious and responsive, although we really only exchanged pleasantries with her, as everything was already in place. Overall, we had a wonderful stay, and would love to stay here again if we are fortunate enough to return to Gettysburg.

We fell in love with Gettysburg while we were still living in Montgomery County Maryland. The area was so beautiful and the people very friendly. We enjoyed learning more about the history of the area and how it affected the history of our great nation. When we retired, it was the logical choice for our new home. We remained close to our adult children while choosing a more relaxed lifestyle in a very interesting location. . We love to travel and to meet the travelers who come to stay here in our apartment.

Why they chose this property

Gettysburg is a relaxing change of pace for travelers who are touring cities along the East coast. It is a chance to "recharge your batteries' before taking on the next large city on the itinerary. We have had guests request an additional day just because it was so relaxing and quiet here.

What makes this property unique

The approximately 2,400 sq ft apartment is large enough that each person can have his or her own space. That is important when part of a guest's trip has included some tiny hotel rooms.

The patio is private. There is a gas grill for guests only and a table with 6 chairs plus a small bar with two bar stools which serves as the smoking lounge for any smokers and great place to enjoy the first cup of coffee in the morning or a cold beverage in the afternoon after a day of touring..
