On-site pool. 5-minute walk to ocean-side beach & enjoy sandy “Bay Beach” out back. Policies: 1 parking spot. no visitor parking. No pets. No smoking. No boats. Low-key respectful vacationers. Free shared use of 2 kayaks. Cottage-size cute & cozy -ideal for 1 couple or small family as bathroom is off bedroom.
FREE AMENITIES GALORE!

Each of our places has a free high-speed WIFI, Beach towels, folding beach chairs, Sand toy set & all linens provided. Charcoal grills (guest to provide own charcoal). Free use of our laundry room on main floor.

Free shared use of swimming pool, Bay-front beach area, Fishing Dock, outdoor seating, outdoor Ping-Pong table, and self-serve Tiki Bar area.

Free shared use of our kayaks (for age 21 & up) to explore picturesque Lemon Bay. Dolphins often spotted.

Quick 1 minute drive to five popular family-friendly Key restaurants near the big Englewood beach with live tropical music, very popular free beach yoga classes, reasonably priced water sports rentals – parasailing, sunset cruises etc. 2 mile drive to number 1 ranked attraction of stump pass state beach park - a natural wonderland. Mermaid’s Retreat is on the first floor of the charming Blue Island Inn on a quiet, safe, relaxing nice island street. You will receive a 4 digit code - along with the vacation villa address - to your entrance door which work on your dates so you don't need to worry about keys! super easy! ONE car parking spot (there's no other parking & I don't have other safe parking ideas that aren't a high TOW RISK - so please only plan to bring one car or choose another property. )

Englewood is a nice little town with an old Florida Feel. Mermaids Retreat has a beautiful location right on the water of the Bay with the Gulf beach a short walk across the street. We really enjoyed our weekend there and look forward to returning. Amy who handled the booking made sure our check-in went smoothly and we highly recommend this property for your stay!

We were greatly appreciative of how clean and nicely decorated our suite was. Everything we could have possibly needed was right there! The Mermaid's Retreat Suite has a separate bedroom, which was a bonus. We also loved the studio suite we stayed in last year. The pool is nice and warm, and we were usually the only ones there. Great communication with the host and the on-site staff! Lots of places to eat on the Key, and even more in nearby Englewood. The location is also within an hour of several other neat towns. We enjoyed Fisherman's Village in Punta Gorda, where we went on a sunset and Christmas light cruise. We hope to make an annual visit!

Amazing vacation at mermaid’s retreat!

My husband and I spent a week at mermaids retreat and absolutely loved it! We took full advantage of the kayaks and went out on the bay multiple times. Beach access was easy to find and not far away at all. The space was perfect for two of us and it was well stocked with all the things you need from coffee to beach chairs. Would stay again!

Overall it was good. Stayed in the Mermaid Retreat. Quiet location, on the bay with easy access to the beach across the street. The place was clean and the pool was a perfect addition. Not a lot to do on Manasota Key but if you’re looking to just relax, this is the place. Be sure to try all the restaurants on the key.We hit the perfect week with not a lot of people there. Most times we were the only ones on the beach and at the pool which made it very relaxing.

Inside the unit was clean. However, it was misrepresented from the pictures that were shown on the website. It apparently had been remodel from hurricane Milton. It was very difficult to breathe in the unit due to mildew and possibly mold. The two wall air conditioning units struggled to keep up, The unit was very humid and uncomfortable. There was a warning not to set the air conditioning below 70 because they will freeze up and you will lose air-conditioning for two hours.The exterior was very junkie things being stored around out in the open and round the walkways. Sandbags with plastic and cheap Home Depot type fencing we’re still around the perimeter of the house.The beach within walking distance has described by the information, did not exist. While you could walk down the road, cross the highway, and continue to the edge of the gulf, there is no usable beach present. It is all underwater and against the rocks. Do you either need to drive north or south to a public beach.The furniture was not as pictured in the unit. I understand that there could be changes between photos, but the bed was against the wall with a very squeaky frame. A different living room couch and table were presented. We could easily hear the guests in the adjacent unit bathroom and the bedroom wall not to mention from upstairs.We had to leave after the first night, sacrificing our second day rent and returned home.
