Beautiful property, beautiful home! Extremely comfortable place to sleep and unwind with our family. We only stayed one night, but would have loved to stay longer! It was a lovely treat to make a fire in the firepit after dinner and enjoy the sounds of the river and nature. Simply perfect.

Another amazing weekend at Cooper Landing Lodge
This is a great property, we love coming down for the weekends to get a little fishing and family/friends time and Cooper Landing Lodge is the perfect place to do that from. Going to the lodge is an annual trip for us know, we stay at the spacious Brown Bear cabin and everything is perfect, from the indoor living areas to the outdoor areas and dock on the river. This is Alaska.
Excellent property right on the Kenai River with a large back deck and private dock on the river. Cabin is very clean and well stocked. Bedroom arrangement is great for families. We totally lucked out with 3 days of mostly sun! Sunniest day was unfortunately the day we had to leave. Will definitely be back!

Great Cabin
The Cabin was prefect and the owners left a lot of goodies for us which was a pleasant surprise. The Cabin had everything one needed, it was clean and partly responsible for a wonderful trip
Amber and Rob were incredible hosts!! They were so friendly, shared tips, stocked the cabin with everything we needed, helped make our time on their beautiful property amazing! The cabin is very comfortable and a prime location for gorgeous views! The floating dock was a hit! Thank you!
We had a wonderful time here and made many memories! Thanks to Rob who was very helpful and informative on things to do and taking care of our personal needs! Thank you for letting us enjoy your home for a few days!

HI Michelle,
I'm so glad Rob was able to take care of you and your family. Have safe travels back home and you are welcome to come back and visit anytime!
This place is amazing. Incredible views. Rob, the property manager, is super helpful. The owners were attentive to our needs. The house is close to local eating places, fishing and grocery stores. And it’s right on the water with the most beautiful scenery anywhere. We’d stay here again before any other place on the Kenai Peninsula!

Thanks Brain! I'm so glad Rob was able to help you. We look forward to having you return if your travels ever bring you back to Alaska.
From the moment we stepped into our VRBO, BROWN BEAR, we realized how special it is to be in this setting. The home is on the Kenai River, mountains in front and behind, the little town of Coopers Landing up the hill and a clean, comfortable place that meets all our needs.
Rob, the on-site manager and Amber, the owner, are great hosts that genuinely want to share the wonder of their part of Alaska.
Our family of 6 from Eagle River and visiting family of 4 from AZ had a few to enjoy the entire property… this place boast beautiful views of Kenai River, easy access for raft and kayak launching, close to food and central spot to zip down to other fishing spots. The beds are SO cozy, cabins spacious for spreading out and kids ran wild all over property. The fire pit with gazebo was out favorite hang out spot even when it was raining! The on site manager Rob was so kind and responsive and owner Amber went above and beyond to ensure our stay was the best it could be making arrangements to accommodate our special needs kiddo. We can’t wait to return. We had a fabulous time!
The property is a great set up. It was only my husband and myself but the home is large enough to accommodate a large family or a group of friends. The location and dock was a bonus, it was nice to go out on the deck and enjoy the life outside of our hectic world. We already are planning to return back next June 2020. Rob who checks you into the property goes above and beyond to ensures all your needs are met. He is an added bonus.

Breathtaking Kenai River views from this amazing cabin!
We loved our stay at the Brown Bear Cabin at Cooper Landing!!!! The cabin was well appointed for a large group. We loved making s'mores on our first evening with the complementary s'mores kit that was waiting for us! That was a very nice touch to have available! There was complimentary pancake mix as well, but we never got around to cooking them due to our short stay. I only wish we had a few more days to spend in this beautiful cabin and breathtaking Kenai river and peninsula area! The on-site host, Rob, was outstanding! And communication from Amber was awesome throughout. Highly recommend the Brown Bear cabin to get away and enjoy the beauty of the Kenai Peninsula!

Beautiful, amazing, perfect!
From the moment I signed the contract to the day we left Brown Bear Cabin, everything was exceptional! Let me start with Amber, our host. Her response to any questions before and during our trip was prompt, professional and helpful! Amber went above and beyond to send out emails with the most helpful information especially for travelers not familiar to the area. Such things as where to get food, fishing licenses, restaurants charters to name a few. They were timed beautifully to help organize our trip.
The house was set up perfectly for a family group with bedrooms up and down the stairs and the main living area in between. Everything was clean and comfortable We cooked every day and the kitchen and grill station was well equipped. The view from the living room and back deck was the beautiful. The clear river with the trees and mountains couldn’t be more spectacular. The back deck and fire pit had enough seating for all. There was even a little picnic table for little tots. The dock was great for fishing and we were even able to launch and float our nieces raft to the dock to pick up family. EWe caught so many fish, enough for each family to bring home boxes on the plane. We had everything we needed.
We couldn’t have had a better time and I would highly recommend renting from Amber.

Bucket list-Alaska!
What an awesome place! Brown Bear Lodge is great. Centrally located, lots of room, and has everything you need for a wonderful vacation. Thank you, Amber, for all the small touches-sending us lists of tours, guides, and events to help us get organized. I can’t say enough. I must give a shout out to the businesses and residents of Cooper Landing. Small town with big hearts! Highly, highly recommend Cooper Landing Lodge on the Kenia River. Thank you Amber and family!
We loved our five nights at Brown Bear cabin. Had a little glitch the first day, the fridge died and Amber and Rob (the caretaker) did everything in their power to help us out until a new one could be delivered (ice, coolers). When you are not near large appliance retailers, you just have to adapt and we appreciated Amber checking in on us to make sure we were set with ice. The dock and river are beautiful, and the property is centrally located (near a few restaurants, a small grocery store). Cabin was clean and well- equipped. Great family vacation!
We absolutely loved our stay here! Plenty of beds (and so comfy!), close to Russian/Kenai confluence where lots of fishing was done, and we made sure to spend time on the dock and back deck. We can’t get enough of Alaska and this cabin helped make it an amazing experience. We’ll be back!
I've been to many vacation rentals and this was by far the best. This was the first time that the pictures didn't do justice to the actual beauty of the scenery and the home. The owner provided lots of extras and made sure that we wanted for nothing. The property manager was on site and very attentive. They even provided the makings for smores! The house was large and comfortable and you can't beat the scenery. We even saw a momma moose swim across the river and a baby moose came right on the property. It was by far the best rental we've ever been to! I highly recommend this to any family. It is also close to fishing, rafting and several good restaurants. Excellent place to stay!!
We could talk extensively about how clean the unit was, or that it was ideal for enjoying the numerous venues in the area, or the serene riverside location and on and on BUT what you want to rent this unit for isn’t in the advertisement —- THE ONSITE CARETAKER!!!! added a dimension you can’t get in most rentals. The most notable aspect to display this was his ongoing texting with us concerning the condition of the fires in the area. He reached out to us to put us at ease, assure us and make it personal to take care of us in a difficult situation. If you want to meet real Alaskans the engaging discussions with him will make your trip a memorable one. Enjoy the roomy well appointed and maintained unit but again remember our comments about the “Caretaker”.

Hi, we are the Saugier Family! Our family enjoys fishing and hanging around the campfire, but not the discomfort of sleeping on the ground and loading up the car when camping. We enjoy sharing our home with others in the hopes they are able to create cherished memories using Cooper Landing Lodge as a base camp. We hope you will come back or tell your friends about your stay at one of our cabins.
We would also love to see what you are doing at our cabin, around Cooper Landing, and your time in Alaska. Please share your vacation with us on Facebook and Instagram: @cooperlandinglodge #cooperlandinglodge #cllodge
Why they chose this property
This charming log home is a sanctuary of comfort, perfectly situated for those looking to explore the majestic landscapes of the Kenai Peninsula. The rustic elegance of the cabin is complemented by modern amenities, making it an ideal home base for your Alaskan adventure.
You are only 10 minutes from fishing at the Russian River. The trailhead of Resurrection Pass and many other trails are with 10 miles. When you are done fishing or hiking enjoy the sounds of eagles calling to each other as you gaze over the turquoise waters Kenai river on the floating river dock. Rent a kayak and explore the river. Relax under the tall pine trees near the fire pit.
This cabin was originally built by Paul Smith, famous in Cooper Landing for his high quality log homes. It is centrally located on the Kenai Peninsula. Making this the perfect spot to explore Alaska's Playground. You go fishing, hiking, take day trips to explore Seward, Hope, Kenai, or Soldotna very easily.
What makes this property unique
We love this home because it is on the river and we love the charm of the log home. Standing in the kitchen I can look out the windows and see turquoise waters of the Kenai River. The exposed wooden logs through out the cabin show the craftsmanship that went into building this home.
Additionally, we have an onsite host/guide, Rob, who is a resource to help with questions in regards to fishing, hiking, photography, rafting, wildlife viewing, foraging, flight seeing trips in a float plane, ... pretty much anything related to the outdoors!
