La grange de l'étang des Faures is a renovated summer gite built of local stone, situated in a charming little hamlet in the peace and quiet of the Périgord countryside. The property has a brand new outdoor area, completely renovated this spring to welcome you this summer 2025 in the best conditions. The private outdoor area dedicated to the occupants of the gite has a large electrolysis-treated swimming pool measuring 6 x 12 metres, the pool is secured by an alarm and a fence to complete the protection for the safety of your children, and the pool is heated and entirely private for the occupants of the gite from July to August. South-facing terraces with BBQs and furniture complete the outdoor facilities, while a wooded, fenced garden provides the perfect setting for a variety of outdoor games. The gite comprises a beautiful living room opening onto an open-plan kitchen, offering all the comforts you need to spend pleasant, relaxing moments. The house has 5 bedrooms for a total capacity of 10 people, 3 with double beds, 1 with twin beds and 1 with a bunk bed. The bedrooms have 4 shower rooms (3 with showers and 1 with a bath), all with private WCs. There is also a large private enclosed car park with electric gate.
During the summer (July and August), rentals are from Saturday to Saturday for a minimum of 7 nights.
The prices indicated per week are for the period from 1 July to 31 August. For other periods, please contact us.
Prices include cleaning on arrival, bed linen and towels.
Prices do not include beach towels.
Pets are welcome upon request and agreement, with the exception of the fenced pool area.

A beautiful property situated in a quiet rural area. We were met by Marc and Pascale on arrival who answered questions and gave advice. Facilities within the gite were perfect for our needs as a family of nine.

Fantastic holiday home for families to relax

Fantastic time to be had by all in this lovely setting. More than enough room for everyone and the facilities were spot on. Location was wonderful, just near enough to a local bar for a quick sundowner before heading back for a pool side evening. The owners were more than helpful and very good at recommending local eateries. I would highly recommend for those looking to relax. Thank you to you both for a wonderful stay.

Relaxing Family Holiday

We are a family of five; our children's ages are 15, 12 and 7. We stayed in August 2016 and we thoroughly enjoyed a most relaxed stay in this property. Our children enjoyed the spacious garden, the table tennis and the lovely heated swimming pool. The property is situated in a splendid part of the beautiful Dordogne complete with Sunshine, great food, sight-seeing, canoeing and a few family trips to the local towns for some light retail therapy, made during busy market days. Our hosts had everything arranged prior to our arrival. We found their unobtrusive attention to our needs to be just perfect. Graham and Caroline, from Chichester, England.

Beautiful house but a few issues

Although a little difficult to find, this is a beautiful and peaceful house. The pool is large and worked really well for us, we were 4 adults and 4 children aged between 4-9. Plenty of garden space for the kids to run around and a lovely BBQ area. A couple of disappointments, firstly I must point out that some of the pictures online are not that accurate or at least for us. The main picture looking back at the house from the pool you will see a door opposite the pool with wooden shutters, this is not part of the house that belongs to you but the owners, they don't use this entrance but you could be lead to believe by the promo pictures that this is your entrance / exit and how lovely it is to have a door opening onto the pool area but this is not the case, when we arrived and met the owners, we were told that the AC was not working. luckily the temp had dropped to around 28 for the 2 weeks we stayed but on a couple of nights it was very hot and uncomfortable. Secondly, the lights in the swimming pool were not working. The pictures to promote the house show a beautifully lit up pool at night and we all hoped to enjoy swimming in the late evening which we still managed but it wasn't as nice as we would have hoped. Also there was damage to the first step into the pool and the owners had put 2 plastic chairs at each end of the step (in the water) and we were asked not to remove them, again the pictures of our younger kids sitting on these steps and playing as they have always done in these situations was the same picture as we would have hoped, Overall, a great stay but these few points were disappointing, and we had no word from Vrbo beforehand letting us know. Marc & Pascale are lovely hosts on hand if you need them.

Gîte spacieux

Nous avons passé une semaine au mois d’août dans le gîte. Très bon accueil par les propriétaires. Grande piscine (chauffée jusqu’à 25 degrés, ce qui peut être juste pour les enfants en bas âge). Grand jardin entièrement clos. Le mobilier extérieur est très bien mais celui de l’intérieur pourrait être amélioré (literie et robinetterie des salles de bain). Présence de rongeur à l’intérieur de la maison au début de notre séjour.

Un havre de tranquillité...

Une semaine dans la campagne de Dordogne en famille (9 personnes)dans une tres jolie maison bien equipee...Tout le monde (enfants ados et adultes) y a trouvé sa place et ses activités avec le ping pong le badmington la piscine les coins au calme pour bouquiner...un super espace vert pour notre chien...Merci pour vos conseils gustatifs et votre réactivité...

Nous avons passé 2 excellentes semaines dans cette belle maison, nous n'avons manqué de rien. Les descriptions correspondent 1: 1 à ce que nous avons trouvé. La piscine n'est pas seulement bonne pour se rafraîchir, en raison de sa taille, elle est également idéale pour la baignade. Pour les familles nombreuses ou plusieurs familles qui souhaitent passer des vacances ensemble, cette maison est fortement recommandée. La disposition des chambres et les nombreuses salles de bains sont tout simplement idéales pour les familles nombreuses. Pascale et Marc sont 2 hôtes merveilleux qui étaient immédiatement disponibles et serviables en cas de besoin. Les prochaines vacances en Dordogne seront certainement à nouveau avec vous.

Séjour décevant

Le gîte a du charme avec une cuisine bien équipée et une grande piscine. Toutefois, les prestations ne sont pas au niveau attendu et les photos sur le site sont un peu trompeuses. La piscine n’était pas chauffée à notre arrivée (elle était froide et nous ne pouvions pas baigner nos plus jeunes enfants). Nous avons dû insister pour qu’elle le soit alors même que l’annonce est claire sur le sujet : piscine chauffée en juillet et en août. C’était une condition pour nous. Le propriétaire a accepté de mauvaise grâce en nous interdisant de toucher à la température qui devait rester à 25 sinon le coût devenait trop important pour lui… Le propriétaire a le contrôle des lumières extérieures et n’accepte de les allumer que de 21h30 à 23h30 à notre charge de prévoir une lumière d’appoint si nous souhaitons avoir de la lumière plus tard. La literie est franchement très moyenne et les meubles de salon plutôt inconfortables. Les cabines de douche des chambres crème et bleue sont hors d’âge et mériteraient d’être modernisées. Il n’y a ni volets ni rideaux occultants donc très difficile de dormir après 7h. Tout est fait à l’économie et c’est dommage alors que le coût d’une semaine au mois d’août est assez élevé. De manière générale, le propriétaire est froid et désagréable. Alors que le Check out est fixé à 9h30 et gîte dispo jusqu’à 10h, le propriétaire était présent dès 7h45 pour ranger l’extérieur et la piscine. Nous n’avons pas pu prendre notre petit déjeuner dehors car les transats avaient été rangés, la table extérieure remise à sa place. Nous avons vraiment eu le sentiment d’être poussés dehors. Le propriétaire devrait revoir son accueil car nous ne sommes pas des machines à faire de l’argent mais des locataires qui ont le droit de bénéficier des prestations attendues.

Authentique et convivial

La maison de Marc et Pascale est parfaite pour des retrouvailles en famille. L’espace piscine-barbecue a fait le bonheur de tous. La maison est fraîche et agréable. Des volets seraient un atout supplémentaire. Marc et Pascale sont d’un accueil très chaleureux. Mention spéciale pour la confiture aux prunes de Pascale qui est délicieuse.

Fabulous family holiday home

Our party of six adults and three children have just spent a fabulous fortnight at this rural location. This roomy property is set in a quiet, little hamlet and benefits from a spacious garden and a magnificent heated swimming pool - the pool has a limited depth of 1.3m which made it very safe for the three young children in our party. The house is provided with many facilities and has the luxury of a dishwasher. This area of The Dordogne is beautiful and local towns and supermarkets are just a short drive away. A big thank you to the owners, Marc and Pascale, who were extremely helpful and very welcoming. We would highly recommend this property. John, Lynne and family from England.

Repos, calme et détente

Séjour très agréable dans un gîte qui ne manque de rien grande demeure, grand terrain et piscine très agréable je recommande ce gîte pour les familles avec enfants voulant profitez et se détendre dans cette belle région

Très belle location au calme

Nous avons passé un magnifique séjour en Périgord, et avons particulièrement - et les enfants en tête - apprécié la très belle et grande piscine, et également le fait qu'elle ait une profondeur limitée (env. 1m30, presque tous les enfants avaient pied)! La location est au calme, à l'exception peut-être de la chambre se trouvant au plus proche de la route, où malgré un trafic très faible il circule parfois des véhicules bruyants qui passent très près de la façade... La maison est spacieuse et a pu accueillir sans problème les deux familles que nous étions (4 adultes, 5 enfants). Comme la météo était de notre côté, nous avons pu nous tenir sur la belle terrasse, juste en face de la piscine, pour presque tous les repas. L'espace salon met à disposition foule de romans, livres, jeux, etc., que nous avons apprécié. Par contre, le canapé et les deux fauteuils ne sont pas forcément à l'échelle d'une location pour 9 personnes. Les contacts préalables avec le propriétaire étaient tout à fait agréables, même s'il a fallu quelques délais pour obtenir un contrat en bonne et due forme. Au final, nous recommanderions cette location, nous y avons passé une très agréable semaine!

Beautiful holiday house

Very good

We spent a very enjoyable week at Marc and Pascale's house in l'Etang des Faures. The house is spacious with plenty of room for our extended family. The heated swimming pool is excellent and the extensive garden was ideal. We were given a very warm welcome by the owners.
