Amazing property in local neighbourhood. Fantastic restaurants close by and a short walk down to the river. We were cycling and good vibe storage as well.
The location was great with lots of resturants near by. There are steps that seperate bathroom and livving area if you are teaveling with older guests it may be issue. The host is amazing.
We had a wonderful stay and everything was just as advertised. Very unique property and it was nice being in a local fishing village. Easy access to Porto, good restaurant and markets close by….would recommend a stay here for all!
Lovely authentic home with beautiful artwork. Pastry and delicious food within walking distance. Very responsive host as well as great information in the house for local opportunities!
Nice place, convenient parking, breakfast close by
The keys took us a bit to figure out but once we had it sorted it was fine. The bedrooms are quite tiny, so no room for luggage but we managed fine. Great little cafe at the end of the block where we enjoyed breakfast. Easy parking close by. Would book again!
Loved the location of this property, away from the hustle and bustle of historic Porto. Fabulous walking along the river and the beach was gorgeous. Quiet neighborhood and friendly people.
Maria was a wonderful host and very attentive! Love the decorating and the amazing family history of this beautiful home. The location is amazing! Thank you!!
We really enjoyed our stay. The bedrooms are upstairs and the bathroom is downstairs which wasn’t the optimal arrangement, but the villa is adorable! We loved the table and chairs on the sidewalk and met several friendly passersby. Great property manager even loaned us her umbrella! Thanks for a nice stay!
A charming spot along the Douro River, once a quaint fishing village, now offers a quiet retreat. There are several excellent seafood restaurants, a delightful bakery, and a small grocery store in the neighborhood. The house retains its rustic character with simple facilities—no integrated heating—but has most things a family of four might need. December nights can be chilly, yet the two room heaters supplied kept us comfortable. Our hosts Maria and Jorge were exceptional — warm, attentive, and quick to respond. If you are planning to make frequent visits to Porto across the river, a car or taxi will be the most practical choice. During our December stay, the cold weather made riverside walks and trips on foot less appealing. But in summer, I can imagine leisurely walks along the riverbank, exploring the many eateries and wine cellars near the Dom Luís Bridge, and walking across the bridge to Porto being delightful.
We were disappointed that the stove top was cracked and did not work. We tried cooking dinner but were not successful. It was very disappointing as we came in late and did not want to go out. That being the reason we rented a apartment with a kitchen.

Good evening
It was a surprise to us that they said the stove wasn't working.
It does have a small crack, but it's working.
It's a vitroceramic stove with a "toutch" function.
I know that you stay only one nigh
You should have contacted us immediately. We live 5 minutes from the house and would have resolved it immediately.
We regret that you couldn't put it ON, but you could have simply contacted us.
Best regards
This is a lovely property in a charming neighborhood outside of “downtown” Porto. It was nice to be a bit removed from the main tourist hub, and there are free parking lots if you are traveling by car. Comfortable for our family of 4–2 adults and 2 teens. We walked into Porto which made for a fun, sight-filled day.
Great location, easy walk along the river to Porto (45mins), bakery on the corner was great and would make ham and cheese rolls to take with you (very cheap). The house is good, has everything you need (no oven, dishwasher or washing machine as stated). Very quiet neighbourhood, friendly people around and some good fish restaurants - highly recommend the one opposite bakery, had queues of customers every evening so go early
We did not stay. The house smelt like insect repellant. We found a dead cockroach on the kitchen floor. After moving the fridge, we saw larvae. We left and I wanted a refund. The host did not send the full refund. Very disappointed!

We are very sorry for the inconvenience you experienced.
Unfortunately, during the warmer season the entire locality faced an occasional pest issue. We immediately informed the local authorities and implemented in our apartment the measures they recommended, in addition to our own preventive actions.
This was an isolated occurrence for us and not representative of our usual standards.
We also confirm that the full refund allowed by the platform was processed without any difficulty on our part.
In over 10 years of operation, this had never happened before, and our guest reviews reflect our commitment to quality — with an overall rating of 9.4 out of 10.
Once again, we sincerely apologize and thank you for your feedback.
Nestled in the lovely Giai side neighborhood, one can enjoy the culture and food of the residents. There was a school concert in the square on Sunday. There is a lovely bakery just 1/2 block away. The Ocean is about a 1.5 mile walk away. The bridge to cross into Porto is 2.5 mile walk. The boardwalk in both directions is beautiful. The people are friendly and the food is superior.
We particularly enjoyed staying out of the city in a relatively peaceful setting. Local, fresh fish restaurants were plentiful and reasonably priced and all in easy access. City centre is easily accessible either a picturesque walk by the river or by Uber which was cheaper for us than public transport. There were 2 shops and a bakery on the door step. It was a perfect sized place for our family of 4. It would be too small for any more in my opinion. Overall an enjoyable stay and hopefully we experienced a little bit of 'old style Portuguese life'.
