I stayed here during the Merrie Monarch festival and enjoyed the lovely cottage and grounds. It's a quiet space in a residential neighborhood that is also largely agricultural. Large property. Loved the unique indoor-outdoor style of the cottage.
Beautiful property with lots of fruit trees, natural scenery, sounds of peace and quiet. Hostess is amazing and would strongly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet getaway. Loved the outdoor kitchen and outdoor shower. If you’re near Hilo - stay here!
This was the best place I have ever stayed. The pristine beauty paired with the accommodations in an ideal locale made for an absolutely perfect and memorable stay in every way
An adventurous, beautiful, fun place to stay. Thank you Merlyn! The outdoor shower and kitchen were definitely a cool experience. The property could not be more lush and beautiful.
My husband and I ended our visit to the Big Island by staying at this lovely property in Hilo for a few nights. We were aware that this side of the island gets a considerable amount of rain, especially this time of the year. We talked about possibly returning next year when the weather and numerous fruit trees are producing.

Totally private but close to town. Very relaxing. Just sit outside and enjoy nature. Easy to locate, and owner was very gracious. Lovely setting.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cute cottage. The host was kind and responsive and thought of everything to make her guests comfortable. Would definitely stay again if we are in the area.
Great place to stay in! Hosts very attentive to your needs, fresh fruits you can pick yourself every day.
BBQ works well, and has a side too for making breakfast. Only downside is the neighbouring dogs that bark. Other then that, great place!
This was the best place we have ever stayed in Hawaii! The location was great. So much peacefulness and solitude. It was close to so many great things to see. Our host was incredible. We will be back.
Our stay was so relaxing and chill. We especially loved the nature of this stay. While the bungalow was a respite, we enjoyed climbing Mauna Kea and hiking to Shipman beach to see the turtles. Hilo has old world charm that beats Kona in our book.
We loved the property and enjoyed every minute of our stay . It is clean and has everything you need , even cooler and ice to keep your lunch fresh, while we were exploring nice places on the island 😊.
Thank you , Merlyn and Richard for organising all so well!
The location was great! Close to the volcanoes and close all of the falls! Nice little cottage for a couple getaway and I especially love the landscaping, makes it feel very private. Loved our stay and would definitely recommend if you’re on the Hilo side!
The place was a little more rustic than we anticipated. The water is not drinkable, but we were supplied with plenty of bottled water from the host.
The propane tank to heat the water for the shower was empty by the final morning, so we needed to have cold showers. But otherwise the place was great.
Try to arrive during daylight, it’s a hidden gem :)
