Isolated desert perfection

First of all the house is stunning! It’s beautifully appointed throughout with a touch of the owners personality evident through the decor. Everything you could have asked for was there. But now the location …. wow it was stunning & private, just a stones throw from the local amenities at Cave Creek. And finally the local wildlife - we saw chipmunks, rabbits , javelinas and a single coyote very close to the safely fenced property along with a multitude of birdlife. Pity our stay could only be a short one but we definately hope to be back.

Sonoran Retreat

Couldn’t have asked for a more perfect home to stay in to escape from reality. Their well appointed home is tucked back from town and offers lots of privacy and solitude. We spent a lot of time in the pool during our stay in the summer. Mostly, watching our daughter swim in the morning while drinking coffee or in the early afternoon as the suns intensity waned. Bird watching was easy from under the covered deck and the coyotes seemed to howl each evening around 8:30. Javelina we’re close and as we would find occasional hairs presumably carried by the wind in the pool. The town of Cave Creek is conveniently close with loads of unique shops and there are three grocery stores within a several mile radius. It’s an easy drive to some northern suburbs of Phoenix but expect at least a 45 minute commute to places such as Scottsdale. We tended to stay local and went horseback riding in the desert at a ranch that was just 10 minutes away. If traveling in the summer, anticipate waking up early to take advantage of the cool mornings for any hiking. We tended to stay inside midday and relax in their incredible home. Travertine flooring and fine furniture dominate and make you feel like your living in luxury. Ken and Maria are easy to contact and very responsive to any inquiries we had. We would, no doubt, like to stay in their home again if we end up traveling back to the Sonoran Desert.

Perfect desert getway

This place is in the perfect location in Cave Creek Arizona… Close to town and yet totally get that desert feel with wildlife sightings right out the back door… The pool was perfect for the 90* temperatures while we were there!!!…. we will definitely try to return in the near future… The decor put you right in the spirit of the southwest… We fell in love with the area,

I am a Licensed Real Estate Associate Broker with Lennar Homes. I previously worked 5 years for Four Seasons Resort at Troon North selling fractional/timeshare until sellout last April 2009. This experience at the ultra exclusive Four Seasons Toon, situated in the Sonoran Desert, provided the background for the decoration of this southwestern charmer in a truly old western theme.

Why they chose this property

We love Old Town of Cave Creek. One of the few Western Towns remaining in Arizona. Everything one could want to live near: fine dining, great galleries, shops and just a great old western town theme minus all the franchise type businesses except 2 that were establshed long ago. A really cool town! It is driving distance from the airport and the ultra chic Scottsdale, with all the elegant restaurants, shopping and theaters, andhowever far enough away to keep it from getting too crowded. Also driving distance to the Phoenix Suns, Arizona Cardinals sport complexes.

What makes this property unique

I love all the views from all the windows. Lots and lots of light. At night, you see and hear the moon, coyotes and owls. During the day, on numerous ocassions I have seen the deer that live in the gulch that runs through the back of our property. At night, it is so quiet and serene along with some fantastic Sunsets and Sunrises. You feel so out of the way of city life, yet close. The secluded feeling of the home setting takes you back to how it must of felt living in the West in the old days!
