Family trip

Beach atea and viee was great. Location was good gor relaxing? Area is very low key and resturants close early. Driving at night to zplacencis is somewhat difficult with no road lightimg and many wslkers amd bikes without reflective clothes and the speed bu.ps! Grocery options were limited. Property could use some updates . We were out of power 2 days (regional) but would have been nice to know prior so we would have booked eccursions those days. But as we had no power the water pumps didn't work and as we relied on internet we had no way of contacting amyone

Wonderful house!

We loved our 6 days staying at Casa Edie. It was as advertised with plenty of room for our family of 9 and a beautiful beach and dock right out the backdoor. The caretaker Mr. Orlando was super helpful with information and with fishing advice and help! This location at the north end of the Placencia peninsula was great as a base for exploring Cockscomb Basin, birding, and exploring the southern part of Belize. It’s an easy day trip to the Nim Li Punit and Labaantun Mayan sites. One day the concierge for the house, Vero McKenzie, arranged a day-long boat excursion for us out to the reef for snorkeling and fishing and that was an unforgettable day. This house is about half an hour north of the town of Placencia by car, so its not within walking distance of the shops and restaurants or anything like that. We rented two cars and we were very happy we had them in this location. Overall, it was a fantastic vacation.

Seaside stay

The stay was fine enough. Probably would have liked to be closer to Placencia as it takes a while to travel to town. We had an issue with keys when we checked in/left for dinner. Vacasa responded quickly and then we were assisted by the maintenance/housekeeping family that lives nearby. We could not figure out how to use the oven. No pilot light. There is a notebook with recommendations, etc, but would be helpful with some instructions regarding the house. We had plenty of room for our group of 9, as well as a couple of visiting geckos and a scorpion. Hammocks on the dock were a huge plus to enjoy the sea breeze.
