My family had a wonderful stay at the incredible Ballyglunin estate. Clare and Alan were fantastic hosts, very accommodating to our group and a warm welcome made us feel right at home. The beautiful grounds and historic castle were the perfect setting for a family adventure. The kids (ages 1-5) especially loved exploring the walking paths and feeding the horses. We dream of a next visit! And very much appreciated this slice of the Irish countryside.
We had a spectacular 9 days; Alan, the caretaker, was attentive and most helpful -always. The property is gorgeous….. a great location for tourists, close to fabulous restaurants and charming towns. I really want to return - as soon as I possibly can. Thank you to the owners for very special memories.

Diane,
We are so pleased you and your family had a wonderful time! Thank you for taking such good care of the property. We look forward to hosting you again in the future.
We had the great pleasure of staying at this incredible castle! There were 14 of us total with plenty of beds for everyone to sleep comfortably. The beds were by far some of the best I have ever slept on in Europe. Alan, the groundskeeper/house manager was absolutely incredible and so ready to Help in anyway. I would recommend this to any family looking for a big beautiful place to stay in Ireland. It is a little bit further out from Galway than some would like, but the drive is actually quite lovely and usually very easy.

Joseph,
Thank you for your kind words. You and your family were a pleasure to host. Thank you for trusting us with your family reunion. We hope to host you again sometime!
Words cannot express how special this estate home is. We had an unbelievable experience staying in Ballyglunin. The house is luxurious with all the appointments you could ever want. The beds and pillows were so comfortable; the kitchen fully stocked and every room immaculately clean and comfortable. Alan was an exceptional property manager. He had the house tastefully decorated for Christmas and met us upon arrival and showed us around. He accepted our catering on our behalf and had it all set up for our arrival. The grounds were so beautifully maintained. There were sheep grazing around the property which made it feel even that much more authentic. We had the best Christmas ever being in this majestic home. If I could give it 100 stars, I’d still give it 101! Thank you for allowing us the privilege to stay at your incredible and authentic home. We felt like royalty! Can’t wait to return

Our family of 13 stayed at Ballyglunin Park and we could not be more impressed with this historic house, grounds, and the exceptional service we received from Alan the grounds and housekeeper. This was a perfect location for us to explore the entire Galway region as well as the local towns and pubs. Ballyglunin is a slice of heaven!

Beautiful manor located on a magical property. Our family enjoyed 5 nights and 6 days exploring the area. Alan the property manager was a wealth of information and so very helpful along the way. Highly recommend this property at any time.

Jay,
It was a pleasure to host you and your lovely family! Thank you for choosing our home for your family holiday. We hope to see you again. Have a safe trip home.
We had an excellent time and the house is very conducive to large groups as there are many separate rooms that can give you privacy to read or others that are more social. For a large house, it does not feel overwhelming and the rooms are all comfortably sized and we loved the open fires.
Overall, it’s an excellent home and we hope to come back in the summertime.

Patrick, it was great hosting you and your family again at Christmas time. Thank you for choosing Ballyglunin Park for your holiday!
The castle is amazing! The grounds look like they are from a movie. The beds were comfortable and having a bathroom for each bedroom was key.
Alan was always there if we needed him for questions or information. There are a lot of places to visit with in 30mins to 1.5 hrs away.
If we head back to Ireland again we will definitely be staying here again.

We are so glad you and your family had a great time at Ballyglunin Park! You were all great guests and were a pleasure to host. We hope to see you again in the future!
The property was perfect for a group of 13 people. We went for walks to look at the fairy houses, fed apples to the horses, cooked and ate in the giant dining room, played hide and seek, etc. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity to live in a castle for a while. Alan was extremely helpful and was able to tell us some of the history of the Manor.

Our stay at Ballyglunin was an absolute dream!! We came here for a photography retreat with 10 women, and the property could not have been more perfect. The setting is beautiful, the beds are so comfortable, every amenity was provided for, and the property manager Alan was an absolute gem! He was so helpful and responsive when ordering groceries to the house and with everything we had any questions about. Every single one of us ooh-ed and ahh-ed over the entire experience - it was the best vacation rental I have ever experienced. I'm hopeful we will be able to make it back again in the future!

Liz and her group were great guests! Very easy to communicate with and respectful of the property. We are happy they had a wonderful time in beautiful Ireland, and hope to host them again in the future
As you drive down the beautiful driveway to Ballyglunin you realize how magical this home is . It is like a fairy tale is about to begin . My family loved being here. 7 kids and 7 adults and enough room to spread out . Beautiful lands and views . Animals to visit , close to shopping in Galway, golf , Connemara , sheep herding , trampolines with goats , yes goats - such fun . The whole vacation was awesome, but Ballyglunin was the frosting on the cake . Oh and Alan the manager was wonderful too !! .

Cheryl and her family were great guests. We are so pleased they chose Ballyglunin Park for their Thanksgiving holiday and hope to see them again one day!
We cannot say enough about our stay at Ballyglunin - it was incredible. Firstly, communication and recommendations leading to our trip were excellent and made such a difference upon our arrival. Then when we arrived, we were greeted by Alan who was so helpful, hospitable, and accommodating throughout our stay - we appreciate him so much. The home and grounds cannot be compared - beautiful and sprawling grounds to roam and enjoy, and a home that was not only incredibly spacious but also very homey and comfortable. Among us were adults and young children and the space and it’s surrounding a accommodated us very well. We all really hope we’ll have the opportunity to come back to such an amazing home, setting and people, where we enjoyed such a special time as a family. Thank you!

Megan,
You and your family were amazing guests! We are so happy you enjoyed our home and were able to see the beautiful countryside in the surrounding area. We hope to see you all again at Ballyglunin Park.
There were 14 family and friends staying at the house.
It was everything we could ask for and more. The kitchen was very well equipped, the bedrooms were comfortable and cozy and the house took you back in time.
Thanks Alan for always being there when we needed you but out of sight when we didn’t.
Walking the grounds, feeding apples to Rosie the horse and playing games
on the day we decided to stay home was perfect. Our last night we had Brian the chef, cook and serve us a beautiful dinner in the grand dining room.
I would highly recommend this beautiful house- you can’t go wrong.

Pamela and her friends were lovely guests. Great communication and very respectful of the property!
This amazing castle made our first trip to Ireland even more special then we could have imagined. From the moment we entered the property and saw the river, horses and sheep we were in awe. Then as we were given a tour of the house by George, who explained how to use everything; we were so excited as the house was larger and ever more beautiful then the pictures described. Each of the bedrooms are large and all have a beautiful view and their own en-suite bathroom. We enjoyed the beautiful kitchen for occasionally cooking breakfast and dinner before our outings. The kitchen also has a nice dining table that we liked gathering together to visit and play cards. The WiFi also worked very well. The property manager George lives in a cottage behind the castle and is very quick to respond with any questions. George even had a beautiful gift basket full of Irish snacks and treats. We would definitely recommend staying at this Historic Riverside Manor and our group is already planning a trip to return again.
Ballyglunin Park is an amazing manor house/Irish castle 20 minutes or so from Galway.
While the house has the architectural feel of the 19th century, it functions as any home should in 2024. State of the art kitchen appliances, fully kitted-out ensuite showers….in short, everything you would expect.
The property grounds were idyllic, and great for short walks every morning. Just remember to bring apples for the horses….that’s why they will be running to the fence as soon as they see you:).
Alan was exceptionally responsive any time we needed anything at all. Our family group had especially wanted to see a hurling match, but had no idea where to go. So Alan sent us to one of the closest hurling matches in a long time at Kenny Park …very exciting. But heartbreaking for Gort:(
In short, Ballyglunin Park is a very special place. The photos can’t really do it justice.
We will come back.

We stayed at this beautiful location for 8 days! It was very spacious and fit our needs perfectly! We had 10 adults, so had plenty space. It was centrally located to all the things we wanted to do while visiting this beautiful country! We had a pleasant experience with the booking, it was easy and the owner answered all of our questions promptly! The caretaker was very gracious and answered all of our questions( we had quite a few questions as we explored the property and surrounding area). The owner had a very detailed instruction booklet and we tried most of the Restaurants and even the local pub that were recommended by the owner( all were delicious and we fell in love with the local pub). My brother who is an avid fisherman tried his luck with the river that runs on this property. We were able to use the kitchen as a family and everything we needed was available and in working order! We truly enjoyed this VRBO and none of us wanted to leave. We have stayed at quite a few VRBO’s and I would rate this in our top 10. Thanks so much for making our family vacation truly wonderful with some memories! Kim J.

Kim,
We are so happy you and your lovely family had a wonderful time. Thank you for choosing Ballyglunin Park for your family holiday. We hope to see you again one day!
Because of Covid and these past 2 years , we had to reschedule our stay at this beautiful estate. From that first look once inside - we were spellbound. The history , charm and ambience are palpable. As grand as Ballyglunin is , it felt like home within minutes. To say the grounds are beautiful just does not do justice. The views go on for days ..every turn different than the one before and a sense of peace and calm prevails. We’ve left Ballyglunin but the spiritual feeling found at Ballyglunin remains with us without a doubt.
Thank you Clare for sharing your beautiful home and being remarkable with endless communication and helping us get it right.
You made it easy for us to be fluid with changes in these times and could not have been more accommodating. Getting 13 people organized and on the same page continuously was not without challenges. You are appreciated.
Alan , the house manager was exemplary with all we asked of him. From the yummy arrival goodies provided to us to , to an ask for extra firewood and any other little blips along the way. Nothing was a problem and responded to in more than a timely manner. Fresh Flowers in many rooms, ahhh such a lovely added touch. Our huge thanks !
Here’s hoping one day , we may find ourselves back in beautiful Ireland and come to stay again.
Our huge thanks !
